We had a great time at the resort. Prices are comparable to similar places on Clearwater Beach. Staff and service are excellent. The tiki bar and nightly entertainment is a plus. The only complaint I have is the water sports company parks ther wave runners and banana boat in the middle of the swim beach making it hard to enjoy the swimming area. It takes up half the beach. The second swim beach had eight skis anchored Otherwise this is a great place to stay.

So you pay for a hotel reservation and beach access and random boats and jet skis just park and take all the beach access up.

Shephards Resort calling me disingenuous when I have all the proof about my post.

Hey Shephards, since you want to go calling me disingenuous, how about yall try to explain to me why my check that was mailed was postmarked for October 15th BY THE USPS when my check was due on the 9th of October. Not only did Jeremy only decide to mail my check AFTER the review I posted to try covering his own ass, he did not even endorse my check that was mailed. This isn't about the money, this is about doing what's right and to not take advantage of hard working people who show up to work, and have bills to pay. To play these stupid games is highly immature and irresponsible, and that is how the valet company you have contracted operates.

    Not cleaned!!!!

Everything needs to be updated!!! First off we had a large group of people we had reserved blocks of rooms was asked to all be on the same floor in near each other and we were all over the place. my elderly mother had to be on a different floor as myself we had asked for a conjoining room so we could be near. This place was a huge disappointment for the amount of money you pay per night !!!! Matter of fact, for the amount of money you pay no continental breakfast no nothing . Most of the staff were excellent. Thats the only good thing. I have to say about this place. Ask the chamber maid a question and she couldn't even answer me. She had to use a translator on her phone. . The beach was extremely small . My first visit and my last. Clean your resort up!!!!

Originally had reservations at Opal but my sister saw Shepards on TikTok and it looked really fun so we changed our reservations . Huge mistake .... It's a nice place if you're in your 20's and want to party non stop and get no sleep .. When we first checked in we noticed the toilet wasn't flushing properly and the water in the bathtub wasn't going down so we called the front desk and they sent someone up who "fixed it" . The toilet at least worked but the water still wasn't going down in the bathtub , at this point we already got comfortable and didn't feel like switching rooms . There was tissues under the bench left from previous guests and dirt under beds . Definitely not clean but our view was great and we were excited to hit the pool . The pool area is nice , they have balls for the pool and you're allowed to bring your own floaties . The bars were awesome all around the pool area and behind the pool facing the beach . The bars were our favorite part The music could've been better during the day . Now to get to the fun part , our room was located right above the pool and bar area so at night they have crazy parties that last until 2-3 am , the music was so loud , our walls were shaking from the bass . We barely got any sleep from the noise . Overall if ur looking to party and don't mind loud music stay here, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation go elsewhere . I will not repeat They had jet ski rentals right outside the hotel by the beach and this hotel is located right on the beach which is great . They also charge you $30 to rent a chair on the beach but we didn't know and just went out and sat on them and nobody said anything , we even had bar and food service on the beach which was cool and being that we didn't pay the $30 for the chairs it was awesome . Beware of the gift shop store right outside of the hotel entrance . She overcharged me for print shirts . One crop top with a print was $70 which she neglected to tell me the full price until she printed it. She originally said $30 and said if I get one more shirt it would be free . I was charged $210 for two print t shirts, one bikini and one magnet . When you try to Google the store to find the number you can't . Terrible

1 star Absolutely awful experience. I'm a 48-year-old woman and have never been treated so poorly. Jerold, who you can see in the picture above, was on a complete power trip--threatening to send people to jail over the smallest things and being downright mean for no reason. His attitude was aggressive and unprofessional. Shepherd's should be embarrassed to have someone like him representing them. I will never be back.

Incredible experience from the minute we stepped in the door. The ladies at the front desk were so kind to us. The resort is extremely clean and well maintained. There were 4 of us in a room and we fit very comfortably in a double bed room with sofa. We had a view of the beach and spotted some dolphins from the balcony which was sweeeettt! My favorite part is that we didn't even feel the desire to leave the resort because of the food, drinks, live music, club and shop they offered. We had too much fun at the club, the DJ was I would come stay here again and again. Top tier views, service, music and food.

Had a very nice stay at this beach resort right on Clearwater beach. Amazing views and comfortable rooms and beds. Very large patio overlooking the beach. They also have a great pool and hot tub outside. There's always something going on, which is why it gets 4 stars. It's pretty loud because there's music playing outside til 11or 12 on the weekends so if you need to get some sleep it might not happen. Also the shower could have had a bit more pressure for my liking, easily just replace the standard shower heads for something a little more upscale. But otherwise the staff was very friendly and they have excellent dining and drinking options available right at the resort and within walking distance.

Go for the small private beach. Grill food was good not great. Nice live music. Easy valet parking.

This is the worse hotel experience I've ever had. I've stayed at hotels with loud music before that had nightclubs attached to them and never have I ever had the whole building shaking from the base. It's actually quite terrifying. There was no such disclaimer when booking the room, I am with an elderly person and this is terrible. At least a mention of this would've been highly appreciated, if not during the booking process than at least during check in. Other hotels have asked upon check in if I'm alright with loud music or if I wanted a higher floor to not have to hear the music that loud. Not to mention the room was dirty upon checking, dirty AC unit, stains, napkins under the furniture as if they didn't even sweep. I would've been happier at one of the cheap motels down the block. If you're looking to stay up all night then go ahead and book this place. If not, then don't.

Came to shepherds for some drinks and live music and it did not disappoint! This seems like a great spot to stay but also a fun place to visit for drinks, music, and a view. I ordered a strawberry mojito that was delicious! You're able to rent chairs on the beach, jet skis, and more through the hotel but they also have two bars and Carl Motyka was performing while we visited and he was great! Some places you visit feel like you're rushed out but if you're looking for somewhere to relax for a while this is the spot to be! Holding off on 5 stars only because I've not stayed in the hotel and also didn't order food here.

Can you visit this hotel for the music and party if you aren't staying here?

Yes, I believe there is an entry fee for entrance to the deck, bars and area where the DJ is, outside guests are not permitted in pool area though. Entry fee is $20-$30 per person who is not staying at the resort.

From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, everything about our experience was top tier. The Room & Accommodations Our room was fantastic. It served as the perfect relaxing retreat after our days spent out in the sun. World Class Sunsets If you love great views, this is the place to be. The sunsets from the resort are nothing short of spectacular. Watching the sun dip below the Gulf horizon with my wife was a true highlight of our trip and created memories we will cherish for a long time. Exceptional Staff What really elevates the Sandpearl, though, is the team. The staff members were incredibly attentive, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making sure we had a great stay. Every interaction felt personal and warm. We cannot recommend the Sandpearl Resort enough. If you are looking for a flawless beach vacation with excellent service and breathtaking views, this is it. We were on floor 16 which is the top floor. At first, I was worried I would be afraid going on the balcony because of how high it is, but it doesn't feel terribly high. I actually recommend asking for a higher floor because that's where the best views of the beach are. We only went to the Opal sol pool this time instead of Opal Sands. They have two pools, which is great because one felt like an adult pool whereas the other one felt like a children pool even though there was no designation. It made me feel better about my two children splashing about. There is also a pool by the Spa that I think adults should escape to if they want to get away from children. The one downside of the pool is they don't have many servers walking around taking orders. I ended up walking up to the bar to put in a food and drink order because the only server was on the far side of the pool the entire time. I tried berries and bubbles and a strawberry Mo-to-to, both were fantastic. We learned we do not like the chips and salsa. My older son did and liked the queso, but nobody else in the family did. We also love the hot tub and you can turn on jets if you want. Even though it doesn't feel like they have a ton of seating, we never had a hard time finding a seat, so people do a good job cleaning up after themselves if they leave their seats. They also have tons of towels, I never thought I would appreciate this so much until we were at another hotel that limited guests to four at a time, so I appreciate that you can take towels to the beach and then come back and grab new towels. The rooms are beautiful. They feel spacious and everything is still pretty new since it was built at the beginning of 2025. All rooms look at the beach, so it is nice sitting on the balcony and looking out at the water. One random criticism is that they don't have any non-caffeinated tea, all their tea has caffeine in it that they offer in the room. Room service is very quick. We got chicken tenders and fries and grilled chicken and fries. I tried the Ahi tuna starter and loved it. My younger son loved his grilled chicken and older son ate the fries. Even though the hotel isn't right on the beach, it is literally across the street from the beach so super convenient to get to. Clearwater beach is beautiful. It has powdery white sand, and there are ample amounts of chairs that you can purchase to sit on. They only have valet so the one downside is it takes a while to get your car, but if most of your vacation is on the beach, you won't need your car anyway. I also appreciate that they have snacks that they put out at 8 AM. They also apparently have cookies at 3 PM, but we totally missed seeing that. I forgot to bring the kids snacks so this was a lifesaver when the kids grabbed granola bars for breakfast. They also have Board games on every floor, which I think is a nice touch. I always enjoy our stay here. I would recommend.

The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. We still made wonderful graduation memories and the location, spacious suites, rooftop terrace, and beach convenience were definitely the highlights of our stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

The front desk experience, however, fell well short of that standard. Before arrival, the resort offered pre-arrival text communication. I requested a top-floor room and received vague, unhelpful responses. On arrival day I was told the room might be ready early, but when I asked to be notified by text so we could time our drive, I was told guests must be physically present for updates -- which defeats the purpose of pre-arrival texting entirely. The top-floor request was denied at check-in; the room had already been assigned with no attempt to honor the request. Midway through our stay I discovered I had booked two nights instead of three and asked to extend. I was told our suite type was unavailable and we'd have to accept a room without a Gulf view. The morning of checkout I checked the hotel's own website and found our exact suite type listed as available that night. When I pointed this out, the explanation was that an incoming guest would simply be relocated or upgraded. That same consideration was not extended to us -- on our 37th wedding anniversary. When management responded to my initial rating and asked to have someone reach out, I replied that I would welcome that, but only if they actually reviewed the communication failures and committed to addressing them. I have no interest in apologies or compensatory offers. I want assurance that someone in leadership will look at how the front desk operates. No one from management ever followed up. The property has genuine strengths. That makes the front desk failures more frustrating, not less. A better-run operation would have kept us another night. Instead we left with a poor impression of an otherwise fine hotel.

SCAM!! NOT female safe! Utterly disappointed in this Hilton stay. From beginning to end it has been…read morea whirlwind. Every employee at the counter was short, rude, and unhelpful. Unfortunately the female supervisor was just as horrendous with her eye rolls and unwillingness to assist. There was old vomit in the right corner next to the bed. The shower bottles were empty. There's a 35$ service charge that they don't inform you about but with the welcome card says it's optional - it's not. Had to request water in the room NUMEROUS times. Was continually hit on while requesting to rent a cabana. Clearly inappropriate behavior to ask to color in my tattoos as an employee. Other vacationers who had way too much to drink making sounds and comments at me trying to get to the beach. Highly, highly recommend looking at other hotels for your next stay. Not female friendly! I did not feel safe staying here. The sliding door didn't lock. The AC was loud and kept us up. Will NOT be back. To the business owner: continually commenting that these frustrations will be brought up to management is not a proactive stance on getting your systems in place. Especially that you reply to everyones negative review exactly the same. I hope you reassess your responsibilities as a manager.

I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent stay 2.12-2.16 at this property. As a Platinum…read moreBonvoy member who utilized points for this visit, I had a stay that was highlighted by exceptional service but unfortunately marred by some smoking that was happening in our hallway to room.. I wanted to leave 5 stars... But couldn't I want to start by recognizing the phenomenal staff members who made a positive impact. Brendan at the front desk provided a wonderful check-in experience. Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. Additionally, Debra was incredibly kind when we stopped in for breakfast!! However, I found the digital portal communication to be less than desirable. I had to report a smoking violation at least four times. I also reported guests using the hot tub after hours due to the noise while I was trying to get my family to bed. While I did speak with the front desk night manager, who was apologetic regarding these repeated nuisances, I left feeling that my value as a loyal guest was not fully recognized. I appreciate the high level of service provided by your hospitality team and hope this feedback helps improve the response consistency for future stays. Wish I could give it 3.5 stars. We really wanted direct beach access which was the absolute best…read morepart, especially with the free golf cart rides to get down to the beach. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
