After being told by multiple doctors at Shepard Eye Center for about 6 months regarding a blocked tear duct that I had, they kept prescribing steroid eyedrops instead of figuring out the cause of my condition. Dr. Leibowitz was the one who figured out the problem and came up with a solution to get rid of my blocked tear duct in the inner corner of my eye. He is amazing to work with and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful about his patients and wanting me to be comfortable, even during my eye surgery. I drove from out of state after a referral by my ophthalmologist, and desperately wanted to like Dr Leibowitz. I've been in the medical field as a nurse and as a cancer patient for many years and understand that doctors have different personalities and that surgeons sometimes don't have the best bedside manner. I also understand that people can have bad days. However, Dr. Leibowitz didnt just have poor bedside manner, he was over the top rude, didn't look at me, barely acknowledged me and treated me as if I was a nuisance not worthy of his time. His demeanor was aggressive. He was rushing through our appointment and then with barely any explanation got two syringes and headed for my eye without clarifying what he was about to do. Ive had enough. I called him out on his behavior and told him that at the very least I deserve some basic decency as a human being. I told him that if my presence is such a bother, and he's in a hurry to go see other patients, to please go ahead and do so, because Im leaving. His reply was "you are not doing me any favor by being here". He must've felt somewhat bad because he ended up calming down a bit, explaining what his plan was, drawing a diagram for me, and in the end telling me he's "sorry we started off on the wrong foot". This appointment had me so rattled and upset that I knew I wasn't coming back. I have no problem calling out anyone, including doctors when their behavior is despicable but if you do, I would suggest avoiding this surgeon entirely. If you are easily intimidated, I would avoid him. If you cannot stand up for yourself or don't know your rights as a patient and a human being, stay away from this man. He might be a good surgeon, but I did not find out, because I never came back. From my limited experience with this man, he's not a good human being. There's zero excuse to treat your patients like they're garbage. Last thing I wanted to do was have him operate on me and not feel comfortable to ask him questions or to come to him with complications. I have since found a different surgeon and if I could give this guy zero stars, I would. I have never seen or met a ruder doctor in my life. P.S. Ive been trying to obtain my medical records from this office for the last month and they are saying that they will only release my records if I come there IN PERSON and fill out their "release of records" paperwork. They will not email me the paper, they will not mail me the paper. They want me to fly to Vegas so I can sign a piece of paper. A word of advice, stay away from this place. I was referred to Dr. Leibowitz by another ophthalmologist to have some fatty deposits removed from my eyes. He said, "If you want to have it done, you'll want the best and the best is Dr. Leibowitz. It took a little while to get an appointment because he is popular and very busy. I assure you, it was worth the wait. He evaluated me and scheduled me for outpatient surgery. When I arrived at Meadows Medical and Surgery Center I was treated as if I was their only patient. Complete professionalism from intake to discharge. I couldn't have asked for better care. After anesthesia Dr. Leibowitz did his magic and I was released within two hours of arrival. Bottom line: Dr. Leibowitz is the best of the best and his office staff is as professional as he his. I recently met Dr. Steven lebowitz for the first time. I met a friendly, honest doctor, who impressed me with his simplicity and his self-confidence.   Dr. Steven lebowitz explain me  that its a very simple procedure to remove a small growth that was under my eye lid. all he mentioned that  I will  feel a bit the poke of the injection and that will be the hard part. He made it sound so easy  and painless, that He put me  at ease right away and I actually set an appointment for the procedure to be done on our next meeting. The worry I had, whether to do the "surgery" or not was no longer there. Office staff was friendly and doc was too. Didn't have trouble with anything. My daughter had entropion and the details and quality of the office visits and surgery went great. A lot of that is kudos to doc but I'm sure it took effort on the staff's end because I had to wait for insurance and referrals, which they helped with tremendously. Staff and doc were also very helpful in answering all the questions we had. Never felt like we were a bother, which was important to me because I have experienced this at other medical facilities. I was refered to Dr Leibowitz by two local opthomalogists after I had a procedure done where the doctor sealed my tear ducts closer as he says I had dry eye. In immediately began having serious trouble with overflowing tears in both eyes. The orange final doctor refereed me to reverse the procedure, apparently he is the only specialist in Las Vegas that dies this kind of thing. Everything went perfectly.
