the grounds are beautiful but the cabins are toxic because of mold! there was standing water…read morebehind the refrigerator. in the bathroom when you walked on the floor boards, water seeped up. the curtain was wet over the window AC. there was visible mold on the AC unit. the stench was horrible. Three of my friends left the next morning and wouldn't even sleep under the covers. All the buildings had a musty smell. we were having a reunion here and I drove three other people or I would have left the next morning. happy Hour didn't have a bar tender. the food was meh. All that would have been no big deal, but there is no way around biotoxin illness from mold. Everyone in the cabin left sick. We were offered a different cabin but they all stunk! The real kicker? I was offered $25 off my entire bill which is a slap in the face for what we endured. STAY AWAY from this pace for your health!

The staff was very nice and the owners even bought us pizza at the end to thank us. Currently, they aren't offering breakfast and the pool is closed due to COVID. Pros: - large rooms with lots of space - mini fridge with freezers that actually work (sm. Items) - nice staff - washer & dryer on site Cons: - maids didn't respect "do not disturb signs" and entered daily which was not ok during COVID - doors don't seal so bugs would get in daily - ice machine all the way around the back & downstairs.

We had booked the Old Caledonian and had an absolutely amazing stay. Since there's not many dining options in the area, we added on a made to order dinner, which ended up being the best meal during our weeklong trip in Missouri. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with a flowering garden, gazebo, magnolia tree, koi pond, hot tub and sauna. We spent our evening out in the yard watching fireflies and listening to their fountain. Inside, every corner is packed with antiques and vintage charm. Most rooms feature a bathtub but to shower (at least in the upstairs rooms,) there is a communal bathroom. We happened to be the only guests so it was fine. It also featured a library with plenty of books to read and board games to play. The owners were absolutely lovely people and cooked us wonderful meals, delivered with attentive service. We were able to make requests for vegetarian food and they prepared a delightful veggie curry and green goddess quinoa bowl for dinner. For breakfast we were served yogurt and fruit, veggie quickie and some lovely homemade scones. There are their own handmade lavender products for sale as well. Beds and pillows were super comfy and they had some great green tea bath products for use. We had such a magical time enjoying the early summer in Caledonia and the folks here were such a big part of that. Upon booking, you choose your room. My room was great, the mattress perfect, the claw foot tub was amazing, mini fridge, WiFi, Keurig, everything I needed in one room and tastefully decorated! Downstairs there was a library with board games and books. A yoga studio upstairs. Hot-tub and sauna in the back of the property. Breakfast was freshly made and also to note, one of the best parts of my birthday getaway. The inn keepers were super welcoming and hospitable, making for a warm, comfortable birthday stay. We will be returning for some of the events happening in town this year. Don't hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed!

Other activities include tennis, shuffleboard, arcade room, mini-golf, fishing, floating, archery, and nice scenic areas for walking. For $5 a person parking/admittance, we joined some others at their campsite for the day. The sites were well-maintained, the rocky beach was clean, and it was a joy to spend the day on the cool river. We didn't need floats, but TRL had them available for rent, had we wanted them. Afterward, we visited the shower houses (which were pretty clean), cooked dinner on our grill, and watched the kids play on the playground. Before returning our day passes, we looked around the general store at the t-shirt, river toys, rafts, and more, followed by two scoops of hard ice cream in waffle cones. I would definitely come back, and I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone looking to enjoy the river. Tech notes: I had Verizon 4G at the general store and at the campsite, but I was roaming at the river. There are two Pokestops near the general store.

Their equipment is always in excellent condition and their service is great. This trip was exceptional because they had just had a terrible storm over night and the owners had been up all night. The resort water was out, their internet was out. They were still awesome. Even though the river was up and a little fast, we had a great day!
