I have never in my life left a negative review. But I need to say something about my experience…read moretoday for future new patients. My situation is I am moving here from out of state. My current pain management doctor in the other state has me on medication that I don't particularly want to be on. It isn't any major meds everyone talks about but it is physically addictive and I need help with other pain management options. I am totally open to other options. Because I'm moving and getting a new doctor I called for an appointment and said I am open to any new ideas, BUT, I said, in truth and real life, I am on medication and I will need help getting off of it - if that is possible. So...I need a doctor who is willing to work with me on new ideas and medication, at least for now. I was told when making the appointment that capital pain institute doctors did that, but there was no guarantee, etc., to which I said 'of course, totally understandable'. But, again, they Do Handle Pain Med Management. It says they do on their webpage, and there's a sign at the check-in desk that says medications will be submitted by 6 PM. And, I even spoke to the girl who checked my vitals and asked if she enjoyed working there. I asked if people sometimes got mad about mixups with their meds, because I had witnessed that in NV, and she talked about how patients have been really nice at that office so far. POINT IS, they obviously do medication management. BUT, for some reason, NOT FOR ME. I meet with the doctor and I tell her exactly what's going on. I talk to her about the medication and needing someone who can prescribe it at least until I can stop taking it because other options will hopefully be available! I talked to her about how I don't want to take the medication forever and I that my NV doctor and I spoken about it several times. But without options, I cannot work or live outside of pain without it, at least for NOW, but I am praying not forever. I NEVER ASKED FOR MEDS TODAY. I take my meds correctly and don't need any today. It never even crossed my mind. Sooooo, after all that, the doctor says that Capital Pain Institute does not provide pain medicine management so I am not a good fit. Seems strange that they don't provide it per this doctor, considering all the other signs that they do provide it. But for whatever reason I was referred to go find another doctor. I am a 60 year-old professional woman. I can think of no reason why I would be looked at or treated as somebody who is out pill searching. I did not ask for pills today. I made all of this clear when I made the appointment, and when I was at the appointment. My issue is either the doctor, for no apparent reason, did not want me to be a patient with them, or their advertisements are NOT TRUE. One way or another, this morning wasted 3 1/2 hours of my life. And I was ultimately belittled if they do offer med management but just not for me. I hope that whatever the answer is Capital Pain Institute chooses to handle their other patients a little better than this. I absolutely despise pain management and the stigma that comes with it and I know there are a lot of other people that feel like me. We don't enjoy spending our lives in pain. I WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED TODAY. But if their system is fixable and it prevents this from happening to people in way worse situations than me, then I am glad I took time out of my life to write this. Blessings to the other people like me who have suffered under the incompetence of pain management in America!! I am giving 2 stars for the staff in the office who were lovely. The doctor seemed nice and caring, so I am giving her the benefit of doubt, and I am hoping this is an advertising issue Cap Pain Institute will fix.

I pulled a muscle during speed training just before Christmas. I backed off and thought I was in the clear on 12/30, but I spent New Year's Eve on a cane. It was an absolutely acute pain and 2 weeks before the run. Too late to defer, so sit out or attempt the run? I had to try. I got an appointment at the end of the first week in January and a follow up just before the race. Doctor's orders were to skip any training in hopes that it would be good enough for my goal to finish. I had given up on any competitive hopes of the run and thought it would be miracle enough to start and finish. I showed up to the race corral with a sensation in the strained muscle but no pain. I decided to start and see how far I could go. I was feeling good and ran a somewhat decent pace for the first half of the race. The sun came out some at 13 miles, combined with the humidity and warm temperature that day and couple of weeks without a run, so the competitive level of the run was finished, but I made it across the finish line in a sloppy 4:22. BUT the goal was a miracle finish given hope late the injury occurred. I am very pleased with Dr. Papas's guidance and strategic approach. He kept the possibilities grounded and realistic, but we pressed on for the goal of a marathon start and finish. As Vince Young put it after a sloppy UT win in 2005, " It was ugly, but a W is a W. "

I have had many consultations, but there was always an issue with Insurance or timing. I believe now that was truly divine intervention so that I could meet Dr. Mosier and have him perform my surgery. I went from a G to a B and they look AMAZING. Truly they almost look fake and I still can't believe these are what I get to have now. I have spent my entire life hating my large chest and am finally free. My back pain is gone, clothes fit me, I don't have to wear seven bras to workout, truly it's incredible. I wish I would've done this sooner, but then it probably wouldn't have been with Dr. Mosier. From the very first appointment where I almost cried, he was so kind and so was his entire office staff. They are truly the best. So kind, so understanding and answered ALL of my 1000 questions. Then finally came surgery day which I was so nervous for. PIECE OF CAKE. I've had two children and this was one billion times easier than giving birth and recovery. I guess I should have expected that, but I've never had surgery so didn't know. I cannot believe how easy recovery was and how quick. Dr. Mosier repeatedly assured me before I left that if I had any issues, they would be there for me and would be easy to get ahold of and so responsive, and they were. He even talked directly to my husband after hours one night when I was concerned about an off looking suture (it was fine, I'm just anxious.) Truly, Dr. Mosier was so kind, supportive, and so TALENTED. I don't know that I had the highest expectations, not because of Dr. Mosier, but just because I felt like what I was working with before was so bad. And WOW. When I tell you they look FAKE they're so good. Every post-op everyone again was so kind and Erika is the sweetest person in the world and would talk me through every little detail and every question I had. I would do this whole process again in a heartbeat. To have such an AMAZING visual outcome was life changing, but to have it with such a wonderful doctor and equally wonderful office staff was also just such a pleasant experience. THANK YOU DR. M! Could never say thank you enough! You've changed my life!

Dr. Dryer is a wonderful surgeon and the entire staff at his office are beyond amazing…read more I am 42 years old and have had intermittent debilitating back pain since I was in my early 20s. When I've previously seen a back doctor, I was advised to rest but keep up my yoga and Pilates routines, which for me weren't optional if I wanted to stay functioning. I picked up something off the floor around five years ago, blew out my back, and had to go to the ER. I lost all feeling in my left foot and 70% of my left leg, so my S1 nerve on my left side must have been destroyed. (Nerves regulate how muscles work; if a nerve is destroyed, you can no longer control your muscles.) PT and microneedling therapy were the only options suggested as a remedy. Walking normally again took me about three months, and over the course of the next five years, I was able to regain roughly 20% of the feeling in my left side. I didn't visit the doctor too often since I believed there was nothing that could be done. Recently, while essentially doing nothing, my back gave out once more, but this time I could tell it was much worse than before and was now affecting my lower right side. After experiencing crippling pain for several days, I decided to contact Dr. Dryer because my fiancé recommended him. I got an appointment the next day and Dr. Dryer suggested an MRI, which I found impressive considering that in the past I had only ever been given the option of an X-ray. To put it simply, it was found out that I had a severely pinched nerve and a herniated disk in my L4-L5 vertebrae. After 2 weeks, I underwent a discectomy. I had a successful surgery and was soon able to stop using painkillers. I recently had my six-week checkup, and the recovery went quite well. I'd like to share an intriguing side note in the hopes that it would be helpful to others. Before this surgery, following my initial back injury, I had numerous mild seizures, a significant decrease in libido, and an overactive bladder that made small tasks such as running errands stressful. Even more concerning, I randomly lost all functions in both arms and hands for about 2 hours. None of the above issues could be diagnosed. I had never connected the dots to realize that my back's nerve damage was most likely the root of all these problems. Oddly enough, ever since Dr. Dryer repaired me, all my issues have mysteriously vanished, including the ability to feel on both sides of my lower body. Back surgeries can be frightening, but they made sure my preparation, procedure, and post-operative care went without a hitch. I'm really happy I went with Dr. Dryer, and I'd heartily endorse him to anyone.

After explaining her chronic pain issues, he looked at me and said, "well...what do you expect ME to do about it?" Seriously, that was his first statement. He didn't examine her, he didn't ask questions about her pain, her diagnosis, the fact that another ARC doc recommended she get help with pain management.
