Best movie place in town!…read more You want affordable tickets? Friendly staff? Opportunities besides 'just movies' to visit? Well, Vaska Theater is it! The theater is over 60 years old. It was showing its age. People had stopped going--until then new people took over. It has all-new chairs, a great concession stand, and first-run shows. During the live action, Lilo and Stitch, Stitch was actually there taking pictures with everyone and there were wonderful extras for sale, like a great ceramic popcorn container with a 3D Stitch on it--my daughter bought one. Everything has been updated. What a wonderful nostalgic theater to visit.. We were hesitant to go, as we were here fifty years ago when this was one of the top theaters in town. But we simply could not afford the tickets at the other theater, so we finally broke down and went to a show. Wow! We were so surprised. The people feel like family, not a chain that you cannot relate to, but people who want to invest in our town. Their movies may not stay as long, as they only have two theaters, but it's certainly worth going if you want to see a movie and enjoy the show. 4 stars to the people who have revived it. You've brought back fun and affordability to Lawton! https://www.vaskamovies.com

They have decent Ticket prices compared to AMC, but ONLY if it's earlier in the day. However, when…read moreit comes to everything else, not that far off. It's also really sneaky that they don't have concession prices posted anywhere and if anyone tries to, it somehow gets deleted. It's pretty high too. Only a few dollars short of AMC. I've been there a few times, and everytime it's been somewhat dirty. Like they don't really clean between movies. I only go here if the palace doesn't have the movie I want to go see. Otherwise, I would skip this place entirely. But, honestly for what they charge you might as well go to AMC for a few dollars more. And you would have a much better experience. Or do what I do and go to the palace on Tuesday nights and only pay $4 per person and their drinks are half as much, the same with the popcorn compared to the Heritage Theater.

We decided to come on the 4th of July to have something to do. It was my first visit here. It's…read morevery small, which I like. We bought our tickets and obligatory snacks. We did buy nachos, which is some heated chips and a thing of Rico's cheese that felt like room temperature. I wouldn't get again. They wouldn't be so bad if they were hot. But they were still ok. 3 tickets, 2 drinks, popcorn and nachos were $55. That's about the expected price for a theater. We were in theater #2 for our show. When we walked in, there was an odor that took me a moment to place. It smelled like vomit. I'm sure it was from spilled drinks, of which there was a bit of. The seats are ok comfortable. I don't think I could sit there for a two and a half hour movie like my husband and nieces did a couple weeks ago, but I handled the hour and forty minute one. The theater seated close to 100, give or take a few. I think that's reasonable. Enough for quite a few to go, but not so crowded or noisy that it's uncomfortable. There were 6 shows playing, which is decent for a small town.
