For more than two decades he had been the dependable go-to-nurse in a government hospital tending to mentally disturbed patients. Since last year our son's health suffered as the cumulative effect of a punishing work condition such that he needed medical care himself. Unbelievably, Los Angeles, California, with all its reputed cosmopolitan advances and progressive pretensions, proved direly incapable of providing satisfactory medical care when needed most. It's either that doctors don't service my son's insurance coverage or that their schedules were top heavy and for many other reasons. The couple of medical providers we ultimately contracted had their own sweet times of when to engage a patient such that there were emergency situations and they would not even pick up the phone. My son's employer also has doctors but they, too, were found wanting. My wife and daughters would take turn pleading, crying over the phone asking office staffs to connect then with the doctors, to no avail. There was someone we had been addressing as "Doctor" for sometime only to find out that he's a nurse practitioner. There were instances of seriously wrong medications prescribed resulting in my son's ailment turning worse. A Texas-based daughter brought to our attention Dr. Robert Hernandez of Primary Medicine of Sherman and, boy, he's heaven sent as far as we are concerned. In the words of another daughter, Dr. Hernandez is a doctor who cares, the kind of Primary Care Physician we're looking for his brother and everyone in the family. Laymen that we are, we, nevertheless, are capable of discerning the wide chasm of difference between our sad experience with California's medical world viewed in the prism of Dr. Hernandez' humanity, very capable hands, and sincere care of patients. Friendly office staff, too. As a matter of fact, we're in the process of resettling in this part of Texas so that everyone in our family can avail of Dr. Hernandez' care and expertise. I'm sure this is only the first of our shared observations for the benefit of everyone in need of competent, patient-oriented medical provider. At our first meeting with Dr. Hernandez, we feel that he was not just a doctor of the body and mind, but of the soul, as well, because he reaches out to our deepest longing for a friend, a confidante and someone akin to family, who we are not afraid to share our deepest fears and anxieties with. We feel safe with him both physically and emotionally, confident that he is someone who will be there for us. We look forward to more productive and more meaningful association with Dr. Hernandez and we wish many more will come to know him, as well. We certainly are not putting any pressure on the good doctor with unreasonable expectations because we know that all patients at Primary Medicine of Sherman are being treated equal. I left a message to ask a question of the doctor and three weeks later still no answer. When I called to cancel an appointment two days in advance and set up an appointment for an injury that required urgent care I was met with short, snappy, unprofessional communication. Clearly Amelia was annoyed to talk with me and yelled at me that she has put in a million pre authorizations for medication prescribed and she refused to do it this time when it was prescribed and she received the request. I let her know I can see I am annoying her and I am good and ended the call. This person called my phone number three times and left a very rude voice mail telling me she would "let Dr. Justin know about this phone call." Hopefully they have recorded monitoring and he can listen to the call and hear how she talks to patients. Also, I can leave a doctor office if they have a terrible office staff if I choose. I shouldn't be harassed by the entitled office staff that refuses to do their job and instead calls me to attempt to scold me twisting the conversation as evident by the voicemail she left. Now 6/26 I got a letter dated 6/15 that they are choosing to drop me as a patient, of course it's received over ten past when it's dated. I highly recommend just staying away unless you enjoy a dumpster fire office.

The walks in and introduce himself and in the same breath tells me I did not have to come. He comes in with a female co-worker who did not introduce herself and had a very mean look on her face. During the visit the doctor named Jason asked my sister if we were half siblings. I advised him people who have grew up in Sherman knows anything worse than a cold you have to go to Dallas. Anyone who care about your elderly mother would want the best care. I asked about a medication for mental issues used for pain and the response was --"she (my mom) was on it when she came to me. Wrong response. No assessment no plan of action. Move my mother to a professional doctor who assess her medication, came up with a game plan for all ailments, and recognized the cognitive issues with having an actual long conversation with my mother. If you want quality, and a place an African American man and family is treated with respect and a little courtesy don't go to this place. And for those who know me it took much effort to stay calm with the half sibling statement. Wish I could give zero stars.

During the visit I mentioned three health issues that I'm struggling with 2 of which need prescriptions. She didn't ask questions or address two of them! After the brief visit she disappeared to write notes and I had to wait again for a long time until she came back. At the last minute of the appt., while walking away from me, she remembered that I needed one of the prescriptions and then disappeared. What? How is this a quality visit? Jenny was extremely helpful and was able to get a stronger medication called in. I appreciate her helping me in this situation. She is an amazing and extremely efficient. My family has been going to him for a few years now and we have never had to wait over our appointment time and if something comes up last minute they will do what they can to get you in. In fact I had to sit in the parking lot and cry until I could drive. He didn't care about me or the potential that I could get very sick. (This was before any vaccines came out.) I never went back. I also ended up with breast cancer later that year after using Bio TE hormone replacement therapy that he said was so wonderful. He never mentioned that HRT could cause breast cancer. I might have used it anyway, but I should have been told.
