First of all, they can do anything. They can make anything look great. I have had three projects done here (curtains, a shirt, and a Patagonia jacket alteration) and they are were excellent. I've visited Sherry B Originals twice now, and was referred by a friend and personally taken in the store as it was on his list of one of St. George's Best! He was right, and I cannot say enough about the great service I received. This is a place where the most creative wonderful expert women work, who deliver the best customer service experience that I've had in St. George, UT. A town that has really great customer service from my professional retail management estimation. Thank goodness for the Sherry B Original sewing magic, they worked on my coat. I'm truly grateful for the authentic caring experience in this store, and for the opportunity to know where to send anyone who is in need of the best in alterations. While reading the other Yelp Reviews, it is interesting to me that there are 3 five star reviews and 2 one star reviews. I would think it odd except for one important fact about the reviews stood out to me. I have worked in the retail bridal business in the past and know how volatile, demanding, won't take no for an answer and revengeful first-time brides can be first hand, if they ever let themselves go off on the "It's all about me and only me every second" drama trip. The wedding experience just brings the worst out in some customers. Discounting what was written by the selective memory or 2 dramatic brides under a dark ego spell was easy for me based on how the fans I've met, rave over Sherry B Originals when I mention my excellent experience there. Here's the thing. My first experience with sherry was awesome. She altered a dress that I took to Cancun. But THEN.... Having a great experience, I took my wedding dress in to be altered. The alteration experience was also awesome. Then when I went to pick it up, this is where everything went to complete and utter BS. first I called and her voicemail said she was open, her hours are all over the place so apparently she updates her voicemail every week. so I took my mom with me to get it. When I got there the sign said closed but they were inside at the door was open. So I opened it and the other lady said they were closed, I said ok I can come back on the date it was originally supposed to be ready even though I had received a call it was done. She said no you can pick up (not friendly at all like I was inconveniencing them) I tried it on and my first initial thought was oh my goodness this dress is too short. Too much was taken off the bottom. I walked out and mentioned it and she simply blamed me saying I wanted it taken in that much. I asked if there was anything I could do to make it longer and she said no. I was really upset at this point so I changed out of the dress, and handed them my payment while crying. Yes, crying. At no point did she ever say sorry, offer to do ANYTHING to make it right. The next day I called again and asked if there was anything I could do about it. She then again blamed me, and didn't offer anything. She then said well I still have the material that I cut off if you want to bring it back next week we can try something but it will probably "look funky." I said ok when can I bring it in? She said next Tuesday. Again, on the phone I said I am not trying to be difficult but this is my wedding dress. And you're being very rude. I started crying again. She said I'm not being rude. Right. Because that makes sense. So I called later that day after speaking to other places that alter in town and asked if I could just come pick up the material from her. Because 1. She clearly didn't want to work with me anymore 2. She was ridiculously rude. And 3. She never offered to fix anything and after spending $122 to have the alteration done I refused to pay her one more penny to "fix it" She then said oh yeah I don't have the material it got thrown away. Seriously? So she was going to have me wait until next Tuesday (a week from now) to bring in the dress to get "fixed" only then to tell me she didn't even have the material?? She couldn't pick up the phone and tell me today that she didn't have it!? Let me break this down for you. Even if this was "MY FAULT" as was claimed; where are your customer service skills? I've been in customer service my entire life and this entire thing infuriates me. Never once did she say sorry, never once did she offer ANYTHING. Simply put: I wasn't happy with my WEDDING DRESS that cannot be fixed now, and I'm supposed to just be ok with that? No compensation, no suggestions on how to fix it, and no apology? I feel ashamed even giving her one star. She doesn't deserve it. read more

We had a great experience coming to Sherry B Originals. I had to get my son's slacks hemmed for my brother's wedding since he was going to be in the wedding party. Sherry? was very friendly and helpful and able to get the slacks (as well as my jeans) hemmed within the time frame that I needed them (a week). I found the business overall warm and personable and the work done was great. I would go here again to get alterations done. read more

I spoke to this woman twice about altering my wedding dress. When I finally called to set up an appointment she claimed she was too busy to do my alteration, even though my wedding is six weeks away. None of that was important to her. It must be nice to just turn away customers in this economy. My suggestion is Pam's alterations near Costco. She was very helpful and wanting to take the business. BTW she deserves zero stars but yelp does not allow this option. read more

My wife has had several pairs of slacks done at Sherry B's and has had great success. The last time my wife and were there I thought I would ask if she could do a special project for a sleeve that would slide over the end of a rotor blade for a Gyroplane. She said she could and I gave her the dimensions for the sleeve. She had it done in less than a week. She put tabs where I needed them so I could secure the blade with a cord to prevent the blades from bouncing and spinning in the wind while the aircraft is parked on the ground. read more

I felt compelled to write one since I do not feel I was treated professionally by the owner or her daughter(other seamstress). Originally I had stopped by to see if they made cushions, yes they do I was told. Great, I was happy to find someone so close to take my project to. Plus I had a few other things that I was planning on taking in as well. The cushion to be done was a box cushion, no welting, with a zipper. When I took it in I was quoted $35., which was totally reasonable. But the zipper I was providing was not a invisible one, so I said I could certain only exchange it for one which I did. The cushion was done a week early, great! When I picked it up it was 47.50, ok, what's the difference? She put two zippers in, the one I brought was 22 inch, and she added a 10 inch one to the end, which was black not brown like my other one. The brown 22 inch was nicely done, the back extension the stripe didn't match up and you can see the black zipper which is suppose to be invisible. I was told it should have been two zippers I brought in and that she told me that. I never heard her say that, but her daughter backed her up and said she did. Ok then, why wasn't I called to tell me hey I asked you for two zippers not one and told they had a black one not a brown one and if that was ok to use that instead? Well I was told she "was on a roll" sewing so she just went ahead and did as she pleased as the client above had happen. Also if I had been told to bring two zippers I would have gotten two of the same size or a larger one so it looked uniform. I was was asked what I want her to do about it, the daughter mentioned fixing the black zipper so it didn't show, but Sherri never offered any solutions and told me if I'd have taken it anywhere else it would have cost me $75. Well maybe, but does that mean I should just be satisfied with what I got and not even a curtesy call to ask, plus the fact that she either charged me $10 for a ten inch zipper that's 1.50 in the store. Now I make custom draperies, so I know what I should except and how Clients should be treated, the price wasn't my issue, its the fact that I should have been called and been told I didn't bring what she needed I would have gotten the correct color zipper and two identical sizes if they didn't have a larger one. She basically just stood there with no offer to make things right as her daughter was the one to suggest either fixing the black zipper so it wouldn't show or just taking it out all together. they were not at all helpful and seemed as if they didn't care. read more
