I was working late Monday evening so decided to place an order, to go, for dinner. The waitress who took my order over the phone and took my payment was very kind, with a good attitude, and answered the phone in a timely manner. There were a few families enjoying dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with grilled mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. The chicken was a square piece of white meat chicken with no bone. It seemed more like chicken fried chicken with no gravy. I got maybe 1/4 cup of grilled mushrooms if that as seen in the photo. The photo shows my untouched meal. The loaded baked potato, which I paid an extra $2.50 for, had a little shredded cheese and bacon, nothing else. No butter, no sour cream, nothing, just a dry potato with cheese and bacon. They placed 4 packets of ketchup in the bag as well. The food was salted heavily for my taste, the grilled mushrooms more-so than the other food items. I ordered an unsweet tea with this meal and paid $21 and some change. I felt over charged and my meal didn't fit what I expected to received. I would like to add that I have had their breakfast, salads, sandwiches and burgers and they were ALL very good, no complaints, which is why I rated 3 stars. This is the second time I have attempted dinner and have been disappointed. In my opinion, this is more of a breakfast/lunch restaurant. read more

We were just driving through and stopped someone on the street to ask where to eat. He did us good. This was last month but just had to get a review in. This cute little place was great. I ordered Chicken with grilled vegetables. So good , down to last bite. I only wish OKC could learn how to really cook vegetables. All food came out hot with nice service. Have stopped here twice now. The first time was a little chaotic with my 2 oldest kids. We waited forever for our food to come out and was a little disappointed but the food was phenomenal! I decided to stop in for breakfast this week and let me tell you that they made up for it and then some with the great service! Only complaint was they brought our A1 sauce! Lol. Never need that on a well cooked steak! This place will definitely be one of my go to spots whenever I'm in town for one of the houses we are building for a client in the area! The toast wasn't toasted. The margarine was a lump in the center. The fried egg was ordered over medium and it was served over easy. Bacon was not even warm and most likely was cooked ahead of time and not warmed up. The hash browns were ok. Very small portions. 5 bucks for two slices of bacon. The food was fair. We ordered right away. After 45 minutes, no food, I was ready to leave and I said so. The wait staff said they had received a large order just as we arrived. We did not order complicated food. I ordered a spinach salad with grilled chicken and my frIend ordered a sandwich. They apologized and said they would discount our tab of about $35.00. Really dont know, we never got our food. It was meatloaf monday, after an hour we saw people walking out, we asked our several and she said "I have no idea what's going on" the cook must of walked out because nobody was getting food and the two servers had no clue. They were really nice about keeping all of our drinks full the whole time we waited, after another couple left we decided to follow and it looked like everyone else followed. Ambiance This place is tucked on the back side of sallisaw and has a good reputation. It's a typical greasy spoon with the table (or three) of old guys sitting and spreading the days gossip. Food The vegetable omelet was good. The 2 egg breakfast that I got was not good. The hashbrowns were not cooked through out. The sausage was In no way cooked like I would prefer... cooked. This is a perfect place to have a party! They have such a neat room you can rent for only $40. The brick walls look neat and they have fixed it up with nice wood topped tables and black legs and some Edison lights. Love it we rented it for a baby shower. On the other hand, My burger was absolutely disgusting it was so pink and cool in the middle I was partly afraid to eat it. The bottom of the bun was completely soggy like it had got soaked in water somehow. It makes me feel sick to think about it! Lol. It was the worst burger I have ever had hands down. But I will say we had a big party and I'm sure they were overwhelmed with all of the orders. Still a terrible burger. read more

A bit expensive, but not out of the right price range, it's just at the upper end of prices for the area, because it's definitely one of the better eateries in the area. Very good food, service can be a bit slow, but I blame current economy. It is not only affecting the ability to hire, but with inflation, I think it's to blame for the prices, too. Where do I start.... After walking in and having our order taken in a timely manner we waited... and waited ... and waited for our food. There were only 3 other tables with patrons , waiting 30 minutes for food should not have taken this long. We ordered chicken strips and the mushroom Swiss with onion rings. The chicken strips were so over cooked the tips were black and the onion rings cold, the burgers was ok. Not once did our server come back to ask if we needed anything or our drinks filled. I went to use the restroom , there was a garbage can under the sink to catch water from a leak. Ok, I get things leak BUT the garbage was full of water and gross stuff, the leak was just a drip...This tells me who ever cleans the bathroom doesn't dump the water, it just sit there stagnant. I understand this is a small town restaurant and maybe this is all the locals have to choose from, but the staff on duty this Saturday afternoon did not leave a good impression. Much enjoyed dinner here while on an extended motorcycle road-trip. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, staff friendly and attentive, and the food great! In fact, I liked Ruger's much better than the experience I had at the famous, and much pricier, Cattlemen's Cafe in OkC. I started with a cup of house-made tomato Florentine soup and without hesitation accommodated my request for a small spinach strawberry salad instead of the house salad. I went to the bathroom first thing and it looks and smells like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. took about 10 minutes for someone to actually come to our table with menus.
