Romas was good. Old cracked leather on the booth cushion, weird artificial air freshener smell, garlic knots meh, marinara good, house salad ok, water had a weird taste, chicken piccata was good except for the price I could have used more pasta. Waitstaff was not a rush, but friendly and efficient. I'd probably not go back but if I had a hankering for Italian and happened to be in this town, then this will be good enough in a pinch.

    Over cooked Calamari, bummer

What a delight to find a great restaurant in such a small town right off Interstate 40. If you live in the area or just passing through this place is a must try. We've been here a couple time now and have never had a bad experience. The booth's are a little rundown and could use updating but it's still a relaxing environment with great food. My husband always orders a steak and it always comes cooked to perfection and to his liking. This time I ordered the Salmon Picante and it to was cooked to perfection and super yummy. The Calamari we ordered was definitely over cooked and chewy but other then that everything was tasty. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I stopped in today on our way back from Tulsa. We arrived at 5:15 on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Our server was Londyn and she had the cutest southern accent. We ordered Dr Pepper for drinks and munched on the bread before our dinner salads came out. The bread is pizza crust baked on a greasy pan to create a type of pizza bread roll. The salad consisted of dressing on the plate, a nice helping of Romain lettuce (shredded, unwilted) and was topped with mozzarella and one sliced Roma tomato. We asked for additional marinara for the bread with no additional charge. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo. He received 5 pieces of fat shrimp, a small portion of noodles, and a generous helping of sauce. The shrimp needs more seasoning before it's cooked and tossed into the meal. I found the entire plate fell flat with just alfredo and noodles. I ordered the pasta sampler and was completely disappointed. I received a sampling of manicotti, lasagna, cheese tortellini, and penne noodles coated in the marinara, cheese, and placed in the oven to melt. The Romano and parmigiana are clearly from a frozen state. Once you freeze cheese, it creates a different texture inside the pasta and it all kind of mushed together. There was a green spinach looking ravioli and it was not good. The pasta outside was undercooked and I did not like what was going on inside. As we checked out, the gentleman (Enzu) asked how it was. I explained that I didn't like the sampler and he comped the meal. I explained that's a risk we take by trying new places but he wanted me to be happy. He showed me the menu and explained what he liked. He offered the kids meal for a smaller portion and spent the time talking to me. I read disappointment on his face, too. Overall, the food was a three star experience but the gentleman at the end earned an extra star. Not for the comp of my meal, but for the time he took to speak with me and point out what he might order next time. He provided a way for me to come back and try again and that's what owning a business is all about. Not everyone will be a fan but taking the time to listen and being compassionate will keep them in business for a long time.

Went with the Grilled Italian Sausage because pasta on top of pasta is just wrong. Grilled perfectly with a char on the ends! Really good flavor and pairs really well with the sketti/rav mixture. Meatballs cooked right with plenty of sauce. Definite leftover but why be greedy and ask for seconds just to take it home. Single person serving was way more than enough. Then again when my waiter brings extra meatballs and ravioli I am in heaven! Thought about dessert which is a toss up between the Cannoli and the Chocolate Devine. Sorry, I have to share this story in its entirety. Picture…read morethis: My wife and I had just left Sunday Mass in Hartford, Arkansas. We were very, very "hangry" and headed to Poteau, Oklahoma, to do some shopping. While driving, we searched online for a local place to eat that wasn't a chain. We decided on a local BBQ joint. Well, rats! It was out of business, and I had to use the bathroom really badly. We stopped at a gas station. The men's room was occupied--I could hear a guy talking on his phone inside. I was desperate. I briefly considered the ladies' room... nope, that wasn't happening. I stepped outside to weigh my options. There was a stack of pallets next to some very tall weeds. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right? Nope--not these weeds and not these pallets! Right across the alley sat Poteau's finest: the Poteau Police Department. ‍ I looked across the street and there it was--salvation! Milano's Italian. I told my wife, "Stop looking. We're eating right there across the street. I'm not going to make it much farther." She replied, "I'm looking at their menu right now. I want a Stromboli." We walked in. The restaurant was clean and tasteful, not fancy. Most of the tables were occupied, but it was surprisingly quiet. You could feel it--and especially smell it. Milano's is clearly geared for serious eating. That explains the lack of conversation. Folks were too busy enjoying their food. As we read the straightforward menu, a very well-groomed young man with an authentic Italian accent approached and asked, "May I get you something to drink?" We looked at each other and smiled, realizing this was shaping up to be a real experience--in Poteau, Oklahoma, no less. Of course, our server's name was Luigi from Venezia, Italy. We were served the finest Italian cuisine I have ever had, period. It started with the fresh bread. Oh, that fresh bread was awesome. (Side note: Longhorn's, you have serious competition!) You better believe I'm getting the ribeye next time--you should be worried. We also had the stuffed mushrooms (freaking awesome), a salad with freshly made house dressing, "Spaghetti Works" for me, and the Stromboli for my bride. We didn't even come close to finishing it all--except for the stuffed mushrooms, of course. Toward the end of our meal, we were chatting with Luigi. He told us where he was from and taught us how to pronounce it correctly. I had no idea what or where the town called Venezia was. Being very proud of his hometown, he showed us pictures of this beautiful old city with its canals and gondolas. "Oh! You're from Venice!" I said. To which Luigi replied, "Sì, Venezia." The English language can be so lacking sometimes. The pictures were extraordinary, by the way. Since I had forgotten to check the prices, I was expecting the bill to be around $75. Nope--it was only $49.29! Are you kidding me? Hell's bells, you can barely get out of McDonald's for less than that these days. I mean really--$30 at McDonald's for crappy food, or $50 at Milano's Italian with a very nice young man named Luigi serving your food and sharing tales from Venezia? No contest. Luigi received the $25.71 difference as his tip. Money well spent. God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be seeing Luigi and the Milano's crew again. P.S. I almost forgot--the restrooms are perfect!

Get there early! We were lucky the Saturday dinner rush was moving along gracefully. They are busy and crowded. If you have the ability to wait for some of the best Italian food Eureka Springs' offers, please wait!! They do not take call in names or have reservations lists. They are old school. It's based on server upon name list leave and wait. The bar upstairs is open, most diners choose to have a drink before their dinner. Understood to be optional. I suggest to try something new. Aways exceptional to live a little. I do recommend linguine with the house favorite meatballs. They are very welcoming at the door, and all the staff are great with peopling. They strive to have you feel welcome. Albeit the wait, it's worth the wait. Littles are welcome.. I have seen large table seatings, but this place is very limited on space. They only open from 4-8 PM, and the wait is real--usually 1 to 1.5 hours. But it's part of the experience. There are cozy indoor and outdoor areas to hang out, grab a drink, play board games, and even strike up conversations with other people waiting. We usually do. The restaurant itself is set in a house--small, warm, and full of character. Even the little details stood out this time, like the updated photos on the walls with new black frames. We started with the roasted garlic smashed in butter with bread--easily one of the best starters they have. The stuffed mushrooms are a must too--fresh, simple, and done right. Tonight's special was lasagna, and if you see it, order it. They only make it a couple times a week. Thick layers, rich without being heavy, and just a subtle hint of cinnamon that makes it stand out. The spaghetti and meatballs is a classic here, and they execute it perfectly every time. Now the tough part... The tiramisu has always been our gold standard. We've compared every tiramisu we've had to this one--and usually order 2-3 to go. But this time, it missed. It was heavy on whipped cream and lacking that bold coffee flavor and the ladyfingers that make it what it is. We were honestly disappointed, especially since it's the dessert we rave about to everyone. That said, one off night won't keep us away. We'll definitely be back--and hoping the tiramisu returns to being the best we've had. Till then, I am updating this place to 4 stars from 5
