This was hands down the best Philly cheesesteak I ever had; it was rich and creamy yet perfectly balanced with both the onions and mushrooms. The fries were also perfectly crisped and not overly salty, my wife and daughter both loved it! The price is incredibly reasonable and my only sadness was the limited days that they are open. Sherry was so friendly, warm, authentic and sweet, reminiscent of what a nurturing mother-figure looks like! If there's one place I'd come back over and over again, it will be Sherry's Place and I can't wait until the next time I get to come back! read more

Have been meaning to try because we love cheese steaks and are local. Sent my son to pick up some. For dinner. They were great. No complaints only next time when I get home will put in the air fryer. I like crispy bread. But the bread is great. Price was higher than old menu on this site but that's life today everywhere. Great service and my son said the woman on the truck was a hoot. Heard there were picnic table or tables but we live so close go for takeout. We will be back. read more

Literally a broken down trailer on the side of the road next to a Goodwill donation warehouse. Yelp reviews are spot on. The staff are all wonderful, the lady taking the orders was a gem. The food was delicious and the prices were great. It's cash only so make sure you come prepared. I will definitely be back next time I go to Kalahari. I had the cheesesteak and my wife had a chili cheese fries. Both were A+ plus. read more

There are plenty of places to get a cheesesteak in the Poconos, but there are not plenty of places worth mentioning to get a cheesesteak in the Poconos. After receiving a good dozen or so suggestions to try out Sherry's Place, I simply had to make my way out there and grab a sandwich. DO NOT be deterred by it being a trailer in a parking lot. It doesn't matter, I promise you this. I will get the negative portion out of the way immediately. I do feel like this could have been on a better roll (this roll wasn't even that bad), and I do wish that Cooper Sharp was an option for cheese. That's it. The negative is over. The meat was flavored well and had a great meat to cheese ratio. The people working the truck were very friendly and the cost of the sandwich was around $10 which is right about what i'd expect. There is only one cheesesteak in the Pocono area that I can think of immediately off the top of my head that I believe is better, and even then you could chalk it up to preference. This is a solid sandwich and this place is worth a try. read more

I've had a lot of cheesesteaks from a lot of different places and this easily makes it in my top 5. From the roll to the meat to the cheese, everything is phenomenal. Would absolutely recommend to everyone! There must have been a rush of orders right before we got there and they still got our order ready in a timely manner. read more

It may sound like an indistinct place and look only like a trailer in a parking lot but it's EXACTLY that and SO much more. If you want to get one of the best cheesesteaks you've ever had, head on over. You'll not only have an amazing sandwich, you'll meet some of the nicest people in PA as well (Sherry and her husband Casey). Check out the true "Home of the Great Pocono Cheesesteak!" Last time I went it was raining and Sherry was kind enough to bring it directly to my car for me. Am I sobbing while eating a cheesesteak the size of a small baby from Sherry's??? Maybe. After having spent a large part of my life in PA including going to PSU - and then moving to northern VA the cheesesteak-less capital of the world, I haven't had the pleasure of a real cheesesteak in years. And to people who live here and think ok but how hard is it to make a cheesesteak?? Let me tell you apparently it is debilitating in Virginia to make an actual cheesesteak. Anyways - the prices are right, the food is spot on, the portions are huge. This is EXACTLY what you want when you want a REAL cheesesteak. Im and doing my review off of the cheesesteak and the customer service which was amazing. Unfortunately my cheesefries were soggy and my onion rings were decent. Usually when we check on YELP we are always suspicious of highly rated reviews if none of them have been done by YELP Elites. So I was a little concerned about this place that didn't have any Elite reviews....well that has changed as of today! Sherry's Place is a local take out spot run out of an old trailer in Pocono Mountain area. Serving a variety fast foods such as burgers and dogs its a local no frills joint for the masses at cheap prices. However their most popular items are their outstanding cheese steak sandwiches. We've had the ones in Philadelphia from the 2 big boys of Pat's and Geno's, but these cheese steaks might just be up there if not surpasses them! Basically you choose either beef or chicken and your choice of toppings. Unlike the traditional Philadelphia cheese steaks where they slather the cheese on top of the steak, here at Sherry's they cook the cheese into the steak along with whatever topping you want. We choose their most popular option of beef with onions and mushrooms. It was fantastic! Cooking the cheese within the steak made a big difference as every bite was slathered in cheese, onions and mushrooms. The portion of meat to bun is outstanding and was a fantastic deal for $7.50 USD. Service was excellent and friendly and we can see why this is such a great local joint. We wanted a quick lunch before checking into Kalahari resort. A quick yelp search and Sherry's place popped up. 5 star reviews and great pictures made us decide to give this place a try. If it wasn't for the post about Salvation Army we wouldn't have been able to find this place. It's basically just a red food truck in a parking lot. We ordered hot dogs, chicken fingers, beef cheesesteak with onions and cheese as well as funnel cake fries. The cheesesteak was very good, they cook the cheese with the meat so you get cheese with every bite. Not like other places that puts the cheese on top of the meat like an afterthought. The meat portion was very generous as well for $7.50 The hot dog was pretty standard and the chicken fingers were pretty good with fries that were very fresh and satisfying. They had a great crunch and were not greasy at all. Overall a great quick meal at very reasonable price. The cheesesteak was the best dish here. read more

This is the Best cheesesteak in the area that you can get. The service is good, cashier is Kind and always has a smile on her face. So happy she was open today! Excellent service with a smile even in the snow. We tried the fries, cheesesteak and a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. They even ran the food over to the van. Definitely the best cheesesteak of the Poconos! So much meat I couldn't even bite it in 1 bite. Nice soft bread and piping hot! You will be happy. Enjoy! Oh yeah! They ran out some extra chilli cheese fries left over from an order and they were so so so good! Reminded me of Checkers chIlli cheese fries except way way better! If they weren't closing I would've ordered some more. I'm coming back tomorrow (our last day in the Poconos) for more! So affordable and delicious. Beat every place in the Kalahari to eat on portions, freshness, taste and of course affordability. Only a 5 min drive from the Kalahari. read more

Well, if you are bringing your family to KAHALARI WATER PARK !! You MUST stop at Sherry's Place !!! The BEST CHEESESTEAK we ever had !! Every kid in my car was HAPPY & FULL.!!! Absolutely amazing I freaking loved everything. So I ordered i say around 40 minutes prior to picking up my food. I took a while getting it because I was running around at Kalahari Resort with my kids. So finally I go pick up my order and it was in a plastic bag I'm thinking it was going to be cold, I say again it was totally my fault. Nope it was still HOT !!!! The hot dog with cheez whiz was delicious, and price was not bad. The wait for some of the other food was 30 mins which I didn't have but I'll try for a cheesesteak another time. They apparently like to curse at each other (someone called another a f$&@king idiot) which I could do without hearing personally, however they are very sweet to the customers and at the end of the day that's what matters. I can honestly say that Sherry's beef cheesesteak with hot peppers and onions is my favorite sandwich of all time. I have been coming to Sherrys for a few years now and started with just getting a simple cheeseburger with ketchup and pickles and even something as simple as that was still the best in the area. Sherry's offers a variety of different foods for whatever mood you may be in, but it's an odd day if I stray from "Keith's Usual" Paired with a cream soda and onion rings, the beef cheesesteak with extra hot peppers and onions can't be beat! Customer service at Sherry's Place is wonderful to say the least. I have yet to be greeted with something other than a smile and Sherry asking how I have been. Not a bad dish, or bad attitude in sight when you're at Sherry's Place! read more

There was a weird yellow goo on the plate and it was over cooked leaving most of it crunchy rather than fluffy. The funnel cake alone was $11. The chicken tenders were physically stuck together and I had to rip them apart. The was a weird yellowish consistency between the meat and breading. Definitely store bought frozen tenders. The fries were soggy and so filled with grease that when I bit into one, grease poured into my mouth. I attempted to let them know, and the man cooking told me that if there was something wrong with it, he'd refund my $25 but since I took a bite out of the funnel cake and the meat was white, it was sufficient for him. I frankly didn't want a refund, I just wanted quality food considering the prices being charged. A total of $25 on inedible food.

Once seated, we were greeted promptly with water and our server took our initial drink, appetizer, and dinner orders without issue. The appetizers arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but after that, the service began to decline. We had to ask twice just to order a second round of drinks. When the entrees arrived, everyone at the table received their meal except me. The server asked if everyone had their food, and I told her that I was still waiting for my Steak Frites special. She checked her order book, said something, and walked away. Unfortunately, no one returned to update us. After waiting another 10 minutes, I encouraged the rest of my family and friends to begin eating so their meals wouldn't get cold. When there was still no update, I flagged down another server, who said they would check with the kitchen. A few minutes later, they returned and said they weren't sure what had happened but that my meal was being prepared. After another 10 minutes passed, I asked to speak with a manager. I was told there wasn't a manager available and that they understood my frustration. By this point, it was nearly 9:30 p.m., my entire table had nearly finished eating, and I still hadn't received my dinner. When my steak finally arrived, it wasn't what I had ordered. I had ordered the NY Strip Steak Frites special but instead received a 10-ounce sirloin. Again, the explanation was simply that they weren't sure what had happened--perhaps another guest had received my order or there had been a mistake in the kitchen. To the restaurant's credit, they removed my steak from the bill. However, what disappointed me most wasn't the mistake itself--it was the lack of communication and customer service. Throughout the entire situation, no one came back to provide updates, apologize directly, or offer a meaningful resolution. In fact, my server never spoke to me directly about the issue after realizing there had been a problem; I learned my meal had been removed from the bill through another member of our party. Mistakes happen in every restaurant, especially on a busy night. What leaves a lasting impression is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, while the food we did receive was good, the customer service fell well short of what I expected.

If you are in the Pocono Mt area and have a hankering for a bite to eat, I have a spot you definitely need to check out. Sherry's Place, located on PA-940, is a food truck with a menu that, without doubt, will satisfy your hunger and put a smile on your face. From Sabrett hot dogs with all your beloved toppings (plus Sherry's homemade chili) to flavorful burgers and sausages to chicken parm to meatball parm sandwiches, to her famous cheesesteaks, it will be difficult to decide what to order. Looking for a sweet treat to top off your meal? Order the funnel cake fries. Imagine a traditional funnel cake with all of its crispy & powdery deliciousness; now take away the battle of breaking it apart to enjoy it. Presented like french fries, they are simple to eat and will quickly disappear if you offer to share them. excellent food, even better owners & service. BEST CHEESESTEAKS AND FRENCH FRIES THIS AREA HAS TO OFFER! Sherry and Nick usually make it a personal experience for each and every one of their customers, always resulting in leaving with a full belly and a smile. it gets really busy around lunchtime (12-2) which it is usually better to call ahead. also, the picnic benches are nice to sit at and enjoy your lunch. If you're local, or in the area just visiting, you have GOT to try this place. there will be no disappointment. read more
