I love Abe's, for less then then bucks you can get two hot dogs, a burger, and fries. The food is cheap and tastes great.

I love Gyros! I have had Gyros in many places across the U.S.. Some I like more than others, but I…read morehave always at least been able to eat what I have been served... Until today when I ordered a Gyro from The Greek Shack. They showed fries on the Gyro in the picture but did not mention them in the description, while providing an upgrade option for fries, so I assumed I would not get fries on my Gyro. In my very strong opinion, fires don't make a Gyro better. In my even stronger opinion overcooked fries that were cooked in very very old oil and smell rancid and are nothing more than mush don't make ANYTHING better. The fries were gross. I picked them out of my food and gave the Gyro a fighting chance. Gyro meat should be freshly sliced off the spit for the best results. The gyro meat at The Greek shack is pre-formed and frozen. They even made it worse in the reheating as it was also overcooked and tasted off. Nothing authentic going on here, they just reheat frozen meat that came from a factory. This was hands down the worst Gyro I have ever tasted. Not close. There are no competitors. The Tzatziki, which I ordered an extra side of, is also the worst Tzatziki sauce I've had. Just tastes dull, no pop from the lemon or garlic and no discernable mint or dill. I mean the sauce is pure white, so I'm pretty sure they do not use mint or dill in the recipe. I'm so incredibly disappointed. I worked a long day and thought I was taking a safe bet on one of not only my favorite food items but one that was also my father's favorites. I've been eating Gyros on the regular for more than 40 years now and I travel for work so I eat them all over. I've had them in Coronado, CA, Denver, CO, SLC, UT, San Francisco, CA, KC, MO, Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Boise, ID, Billings, MT. And more. I love Gyros. This one was gross. I could not eat it.

At the meeting of I-80 and I-476 there sits an Arby's. It shares a parking lot with a Burger King…read moreand from the outside looks as though no one has loved it for a very long time. The lot is cracked and patched in the manner of old knees. The edges are tufted with weeds doing their best impression of prairie grass. The stop sign by the exit has given up on vertical life and now leans against its pole like it is waiting for a bus that will never come. But step inside and you find yourself in a different story. The place is clean and bright, and the people who work there seem to have won some secret lottery for friendliness. The young teen at the register was a trainee. We may have been her first solo customers. Her manager hovered at a respectful distance, smiling but silent, like a lighthouse keeper watching a small boat navigate the channel. She did just fine. The food was exactly what you want from Arby's if you are the kind of person who occasionally wants Arby's. I had my usual Beef n' Cheddar with curly fries. It was good. My wife and older son split a cheeseburger and potato wedges and declared themselves satisfied. My youngest had mac and cheese and loved it in a way that suggested he might dream about it later. This Arby's is perfectly positioned for an easy on-and-off stop that feels like a rest area without the inflated rest area prices. In the world of Arby's, this was about as good as it gets, short of someone coming outside with a weed trimmer and upright stop sign.
