When we started searching for furniture for our new house a few years ago Derbyshire popped up on just about every list I checked and had plenty of great reviews. Now that we've made a few of our own purchases I totally understand the praise this small business gets. The shop is small but mighty and packed with so many good pieces. If your style leans traditional - they've got it. If your style leans more contemporary/modern - they've got it. Plus a few things in between that could go in either direction and work with just about any style or decor. Everything is solid wood and totally customizable. You can pick your stain or paint plus your hardware (should you order something with hardware, of course). The couple that owns the shop have always been very kind and very patient, answering all the questions... especially when I was coming in every other week for too many weeks to look at dressers before I finally made up my mind. Lead time was accurate, delivery days/times were accommodating and the guys that arrived to place our items were totally courteous. For our last order/delivery the guys didn't leave until they leveled our dressers perfectly. I didn't even have to ask.. they just did it and that's how a good delivery and install team should operate. Truly, I only have good things to say about Derbyshire. Next piece of wood furniture that we need I will definitely be stopping in Derbyshire first to check things out.

I was on the market for painters to help paint my entire apartment (2br 2ba including doors, trim…read moreand baseboards). After doing some research, I knew I wanted to use BJ Moore Regal Select paint which was consistently ranked as the best quality interior paint and we had our colors & finishes already selected. I reached out to 5 different painters to learn about their services, get estimates and I scheduled in-person walkthroughs for my top 2 choices. The walkthrough meeting and followup Q&A really sold me on Century Painting, we hired them and were not disappointed. Jorge (the owner) was responsive, very professional, timely and offered helpful advice about care / maintenance. I requested an initial estimate and covered the majority of questions thru Yelp, shared photos and a floor plan over text, and covered followup questions with Jorge over text and a brief walkthrough meeting I requested so I could get better acquainted with them and be completely transparent about the project scope for our specific space so there wouldn't be any surprises down the road (we have high ceilings and structural beams that might be tricky). Jorge was quick to meet and he provided a firm estimate in writing to me over email. Jorge provided a very competitive quote for the job and he required no advance deposit (most required 10-50% down). He also accepted credit card payment as an option, with full payment expected only when they completed the project (note: they were the only painter of the 5 that accepted credit cards). Jorge and Carlos showed up on time every morning, was able to provide a COI to meet my bldg's requirements, and they came ready to work with all the necessary paint and supplies. They took good care to move / cover our furniture and hardwood floors so they were protected and made sure to return everything clean and put back in place. Jorge encouraged us to identify any holes we may need patched or painting misses that needed correction - tbh, most of these things were proactively detected by them first. They really paid meticulous attention to ensure the quality of their work - and invited us to call them if we had any issues after the project (since we have furniture being delivered following the project). We fortunately had a little paint leftover so we're keeping it just in case we scuff any of the new paint in the process. They were done with the project in 2 days (others quoted me for 3-5 days with 2-4 painters). They were truly a pleasure to work with. We chose 2 dark colors and 1 light color - everything got at least 2 coats of paint but the dark colors required at least 4 coats. It came out beautifully (see pictures). I can't thank Jorge and Carlos enough. Highly recommend you check them out for yourself - I doubt you'll be disappointed.

He talks a big game about his skills and reliability, but in reality, he is extremely untrustworthy. He never completed the work and constantly came up with excuses--everything from car trouble to personal issues--while repeatedly failing to show up as promised. Every time I followed up, I got a different excuse or lie. This experience was nothing but a waste of time and money. Completely unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. Save yourself the headache and hire someone who actually values their work and respects their clients. Avoid at all costs!

NEGATIVE ONE MILLION STARS!…read more I hired NJ Painters to paint my new construction home for $16,000. I paid half up front and the other half was to be given at completion. I guess I'm a good person because the owner, Madhi (the owner) kept coming to me saying that he needs money because he couldn't pay his guys, or his rent or his wife had a medical emergency or whatever other excuse he came up with. I was being lied to and gave him money to "get by" out of the goodness of my heart. Long story short, I had to fire them and I reluctantly took them back after Madhi begged me to finish. I accepted and I got screwed again! Madhi never showed back up again and instead sent his helper Brandon to finish. Guess what.... he never finished! He also never covered my brand new floors and I am still scraping paint off of them! Let's see, what else can I bring up....Oh yeah - they bitched and moaned that the house was too cold and couldn't work - I had to buy their brushes and rollers because they didn't have them - my house smelled of cigarette smoke and weed when they worked. At least Brandon wised up and went outside eventually - They left their tools in my house and all empty paint cans and supplies for over 3 months because "they were safe there." Like their own personal storage unit - They took another job in the middle of mine and stopped showing up for a month By the way, I have all of this documented in text messages with the owner. I'll gladly send to whoever wants it. Do not trust these guys, they are thieves and I have opened a complaint with the better business bureau.
