In placing my order for a Tricorn black paint with Bill, he was mindful enough to explain what to do. The Tricorn black would be used to repaint the front door of my home, and Bill took the time to explain that it was necessary to paint the interior door sections first due to the thickness & sheen of the paint composition. Bill didn't say much upon picking up the paint during curbside delivery, which was ok. The paint quality turned out to be better than expected after adding the 2nd and 3rd coats. Though its not cheap, the paint itself is not ridiculously expensive either. If you want quality, be expected to pay quality pricing. The same goes for vice versa- that is if you want water colors that are good for either Easter eggs, or Earl Scheib paint jobs on cars. Sherwin-Williams is certainly the former.

To which he told me how he personally enjoyed the finished look on his own project and was positive I would be happy with my choice. *YES, Emerald Designer is amazing! It does cost more, but the coverage is fantastic and is easy to use especially for beginner/intermediate painters like me. I especially like how you can bring an object into a SW store and they can scan it to match your paint color. They also keep your purchasing profile, so if you need more of something, they can match your needs easily. There is a tiny parking lot here, which makes it difficult for large trucks and SUVs (the preferred vehicle choices of most paint contractors and UP residents, respectively). This statement is demonstrated in the story at the end of my review. Typically the service is friendlier at a SW than the DIY megastores, although the help at this location seemed disinterested in their jobs and life in general. No smile. Just a "Ma'am, is there something you need help with?" after I walked directly to what I needed and simply looked at the pricing and sizing labels on the drop cloths. The home depot guy was not helpful, told us we can't get the color paint we needed. The paint slip we got there he said was horrible paint and would take multiple coats. The very friendly gentleman Rudy at Sherwin-Williams was awesome! He was knowledgeable about the paint, matched our color slip 100%, and the paint was exactly what we needed. They did a much better job.
