The store is clean and well organized and I have been fully satisfied with my purchases. But the big reason this is my go to paint site is the people that work there. The customer service is exceptional. The employees are always warm and welcoming and happy to answer my painting questions. I never feel like they are trying to upsell me on anything. In fact, they've helped me purchase some deals too! On several occasions they have helped me carry my purchased items out to my car (one of those instances being when I was a new mom trying to figure out juggling a heavy car seat while shopping). This place never disappoints. If they ever have staffing issues or bad days, you'd never know it. I highly recommend them. 5/5 stars easily!

When we got the paint on the wall and it was not what we were looking for in terms of coverage and finish. We decided to try Sherwin-Willams after that. We told the associate what we wanted to do, what finish we wanted, and what color the room was currently. They were able to provide spot on recommendations. I never felt like they were trying to up sale me or sale me anything that I didn't need. From now on I'll get my paint from here. Also, they are always running great sales so keep your eyes out for that.

After replacing a door and frame recently, it was easy to see the drywall and patching that went around where the frame had been. Luckily, the previous owner of the home had kept cans of paint (and labeled them by room!) from the last time the house had been spruced up. I grabbed the can for the room needing some love and headed to my local Porter Paints to get what I needed. The store itself, located at the corner of Breckenridge Ln and Willis Ave, is clean, well-organized, and a great place to find home improvement inspiration. While not as large as a home improvement megastore, the location had everything you might need to give your home a professional-looking paint job. The staff was very friendly, and - using the can I had brought in - were able to match the paint I bought to the can the previous owner had left. It took just about 2 minutes for my can of paint to be ready and for me to be back on my way to improving the look of my home.

When you've done a fair amount of shopping at the bigger box hardware places (we'll go with the…read morenames Orange and Blue) and you can't find what you want, I find that Tractor Supply usually sneaks in for the win. Recently we decided we wanted to put in a rain barrel for watering our veggies, flowers, and Crepe Myrtles. We checked several locations of Orange and Blue and, not to anyone's surprise, found that they didn't have any in stock. Ordering would have taken a couple weeks to get here. These days 2 weeks is a LONG time for delivery. We had cash on hand, so I drove out to Tractor Supply. Turns out they had 2 rain barrels in stock. While I was there I visited the wild bird seed aisle. Tractor Supply has a GREAT selection and variety of bird seed. I have about 10 feeders in our back yard so I go through A LOT of bird seed. (Well, *I* don't, the birds do. I just put it in the feeders.) I've never been let down by the bird seed they have in stock or the variety, and there's almost always a sale of some kind going on. The staff at this location is always fun and helpful. If you're looking for something they'll take you to it instead of nodding in a general direction, and there are a few that have a great sense of humor. No one wants to be helped by a robot. A little personality can go a long way in making a routine shopping visit into a great one. About 15 minutes later and I had my rain barrel and a few bags of bird seed and a pleasant conversation with the guy at the register (whose name I don't recall) who had mad skills at zapping and flipping that scanning gun. From now on Tractor Supply will be the first place I look. Orange and Blue will have to wait.

Once I chose the outdoor color, they were super helpful in some paint I chose for the guestroom. It ended up being a little bit to blue, so they made a custom mix for me to make it more gray so that I wouldn't have to buy new paint. Lastly they helped me figure out a local painter that could paint my door, and advise me on which paint I should use to make sure it's primed correctly. Net/ net - Whatever your paint or siding needs, Dages has you covered. Anne and Dave (the owners) are two of the best people I've met in Louisville. They are honest, hard-working, and trustworthy. And helps combat the nearby long time staple in the area autozone. Last night for the first time I actually made my first visit here. Store is about midsized and seemed clean. I was looking for a battery for a co worker who was broke down and when calling this place they were about $50 cheaper then autozone. Upon walking into an empty store I was greeted by nobody. I could here workers in the back. And I could hear one say "someone is here I think" and they all seemed surprised they had a customer at 830pm. Not sure that bodes well for how popular they are. While cheaper then auto zone i did not get the same confidence that I was getting accurate an Knowledgeable info from the worker here. He didn't get much help from the faceless co workers who I could hear dropping f bombs and laughing in the back. So kinda felt bad for the kid. He seemed confused and disinterested. Probably more interested in hanging with the boys in the back. Overall, I did get a cheaper deal then autozone down the street. However for future reference I think I'll only come back if there is a big price difference. I definetly wouldn't feel comfortable coming here to get advice on a car or parts after this one visit. I'll stick with ole trusty autozone on that for now until shown otherwise I guess.

Racist treatment by employees. My husband, who is African American, asked an employee, an older…read morewhite man, to help him. My husband told him he wanted the $300 blower but there were none on the shelf. The employee said they didn't have anymore and if my husband wanted one he would have to buy the display. My husband said he didn't want the display he wanted one in the box. The employee said that's all they had. My husband found a manager who sent someone back to the stockroom and he brought out the $300 blower in an unopened box. Apparently there were several in the stockroom. I called and left a message and am not holding my breath for a reply. Will update if I get a response.
