Friendly service and pretty good selection. Not Lowe's by any stretch but a decent place to shop.

Did not even completely cover in 3 either :/ Romabio says I have to get a refund through Magnolia but Magnolia says it's our fault for not using primer even though Romabio says directly on the can and TDS no need for primer on unsealed/unpainted brick. Romabio agreed to give magnolia credit for the product but Christine said she wouldn't 'feel comfortable' giving us a refund for any amount. Christine lied to Romabio that she had warned us to use primer on our unsealed brick. I will never use Magnolia Paint again... Christine was not sympathetic that I was out over $2,000. She said she had to look out for her store even though Romabio agreed the product had not lived up to its description and I should be issued a refund. Same with their corporate manager Christy. She started the conversation by saying she didn't have much time for me even though I had just informed her that her store manager Christine had hung up on me. I also reached out to the owner and have not received a response. I attached a picture of the brick with 3 coats. As you can see, the finish is threadbare even though Romabio advertises their paint as a 2 coat, 'uniform', 'opaque' system with no need for primer on unsealed brick.

I would not recommend A&D Painting to my friends or family, and I would not use them again myself…read more My husband and I had our brick home white-washed with A&D, and while ultimately the home is acceptable post-paint the process was SO bad. 1. The paint crew didn't finish the job. Our front stoop and other areas around the house were still untouched, bright red brick after they were "done." We actually had to ask if the crew was coming back or if they thought they were finished. 2. We were promised on multiple occasions that we'd have a "walk around" after the job was done to make sure the coverage was to our taste. That never happened, and if it had, then #1 would've been easily addressed and we would've had an opportunity to say that it was, in fact, not to our taste yet and in need of more paint in several areas. 3. The paint crew left trash all around our house. This was another reason we weren't sure they were done. Trash included: an empty tape roll left taped to the side of the house, multiple rags in the flower beds (and still tied to trees), plastic covering still taped over light fixtures, paint supplies, banana peels, orange peels, receipts, and, the best one, ice cream bar wrappers BURIED in a hole in our pine straw. We were home when the crew left on the last day, so it would've been easy to ask for a trash bag rather than burying trash for us to find later. So unprofessional. Not that it matters, but we bought those ice cream bars for them to have because it was a hot day. 4. About one dozen of our windows or window screens were painted on as well as some of our outside light fixtures, our deck, driveway, and brand new roof. The windows we can scrape off (shouldn't have to, but we can), but the screens will all have to be replaced, and I guess we'll live with the rest. 5. Lastly, and maybe the most frustrating part of the whole thing, communication from A&D was some of the worst we've had from any business we've ever used for home repairs. There were MANY occasions when we were given a date/time for painting or pressure washing or whatever, which we rearranged our schedules to be home for, and no one showed. Even when we tried to address the above points we were given multiple dates for when people would come, and no one showed. When we were finally so fed up (over a month after our original job) that we asked for a refund and said don't bother coming out, they had someone (1 painter) to our house within an hour. Seems like it actually wasn't that hard to get someone to the home after all. Of course, we never even heard from management.

The windowsill trim outside, you agreed to fix from your last job, was not done. 2. The walls in the basement brown, when I walked it through with you it was to be refreshed with a new coat of white. I was surprised it only took an hour to repaint white, but some of the brown is still bleeding through. During the walkthrough, you said you would be rolling the paint, therefore I did not cover anything. All painters know when spray painting, you have to put up a plastic barrier, so nothing is permanently damaged. Because you did not take the time to block the middle section of the basement, which was easily provided, from the overspray, all of our belongings have overspray on them. 3. You did not turn off our dehumidifier while painting and it froze up and quit working because of the overspray. 4. When I started to clean the living room, stairway, hall, and dining room, I found you painted the trim in flat paint. I left medium luster for the trim and marked the cans. Because we cannot close the business until this winter, I will have to wait to hire someone to repaint. You painted trim for me before in the medium lustre when you worked for me before. You cannot say you did not know. I will have to rehire to repaint. When I talked to Sherwin Williams they said they never heard of trim being painted in flat paint. 5. You took out the mollies for our curtain rods and repainted over. We were trying to make it easy for you to paint, not to remove our curtain rod mollies and patch. It took Jim six hours to redrill and put up rods. All you had to do was ask. 6. You did not cover the shelves with plastic before painting the upstairs. You did the minimum on painting the basement stairway as none of the trim was painted. I left a note on the shelf "do not paint shelf" it did not say not to paint the trim. 7. The ceiling is still bubbling. 8. I went to Sherwin Williams and they said you got a 30% discount on paint. The most expensive paint is $75 with a discount at most a gallon would be $50. I provided you with trim and ceiling paint which you did not use even though you had the instructions on what paint to use. Based upon Sherwin Williams calculation, the most would have been 6 gallons. You charged me $650 dollars for paint, which equates to 13 gallons of paint. I scheduled this job with you two months in advance and expected a professional job. You have cost us so much money and time in this job. I talked to your father, Bruce. He wanted to come back, but after such a soured relationship, I do not want your company back. He initially agreed to $1,000 refund so I can hire to repaint the trim this winter. I told him about the trim, etc and he discontinued the conversation. I can send you pictures depicting the issues.

I am not exaggerating at all when I say dealing with BWH Services was the worst business experience…read moreI've ever had; personally or professionally. It was awarded the painting contract for our homeowners' association of which he was president at the time. Not only does the term 'conflict of interest' not exist in Ben Hamrick's vocabulary, his reaction when the issue is raised angers him beyond the point of civil behavior. I'm only giving BWH one star because it is not possible to give him no or negative stars. Pay close attention to reviews that mention his legal threats because that's his go to move when he's held to account. He's also quick to accuse you of threatening behavior, legal and otherwise. The painting itself was comically sloppy in places. Communication on progress of the work was virtually non-existent. Our Board had to initiate the final inspection process after not getting a progress update for months. Once the final inspection process was underway, he did address much of what was listed but, so much of that consisted inexcusable mistakes like missed areas and terrible overspray. We gave up before everything was addressed because weeks would go by without communication. And, when we did have contact, the excuses and accusations made the process unbearable. We complained to the Better Business Bureau looking for a partial refund but, that just provided BWH another forum to be unreasonable. No resolution was reached there. Ben Hamrick still claims he's willing to complete the work. But, his actions such as leaving the leftover paint at a board member's doorstep without permission say otherwise. I did the math. BWH had 286 business days to paint 17 modest sized units (over three weeks per unit) and never really finished and closed the job out professionally. All while accusing the customer of being unreasonable. My sincerest advice is to run, don't walk, to another contractor. I will share more details with anyone who would like to. It is important that business like this change their ways or don't get opportunity to aggravate more unsuspecting customers.
