This is the story of how this company put me in a situation that I am the loser in and refuse to be accommodating or helpful. Fire pit ordered late July. The product on 10 Nov comes to the store. Since the product arrived on Nov 3. I was working to hire a shipper to pick the item up. I arrange for them to pick it up on Saturday 13 Nov from the store. Unfortunately I get a phone call from the store manager on 10 Nov saying that she accidentally unpacked my fire pit off the truck. Off the pallet and had already discarded all of the packing material. Unfortunately I need it packed for my shipper. She assured me via text that it would be in the store and ready for pick up by (13 Nov). Saturday comes around and product is not ready nor does she know when warehouse would have it repacked. I call trying to get the status and Renn, who has no update from Kate the manager. She calls me back. In the voicemail she effectively blames me for the package being opened and only being able to pick up on a Saturday (I live in florida). My shipper waits to pick up item for 3 days (Tuesday) until he can no longer support the pick up. He now downgrades my rating on a shipping app as a customer that is not prepared. I am told by Kate/Renn that because I am so far away they will accommodate a Saturday pick up at the warehouse and have someone be there because they don't want to bring to store and accident unpack it again. I email on Thursday and asking for the status. The status is reported as not packed yet. (6 days after I was told it would be packed and back in store). Since my schedule changed, I call on Friday at 11am and I talk to Renn and tell her I can be there the next day on Saturday regardless of packing status to pick up. 1.5 hours later i call her back, as she failed to call me Back as she said she would and ask for status. She says she can't get the warehouse open on Saturday. I reiterate I need it pack and pictures to resubmit it for shipping. I was told I'll have them by Monday. Monday. They didn't arrive. Finally. Tuesday the 23rd I get pictures of it packed. It takes 13 days from the original accidental unpack to be repacked and sent me pictures. I decide on the 24th that I will come up the day after thanksgiving, a Friday, and pick the item up. I am told the warehouse is closed that day and there's nothing they can do. I am told by Kate that she can try to find someone to come in but 99% sure no one will. I say I can do Saturday as well (since I was told they would make saturdays available to Me at the warehouse) and I said will provide an exact time of when I will be there. I also tell them 20 mins in an out. Just putting the pallet in my truck and I'll drive away. I have to call back for an update. I missed her call back. Her voice Mail she leaves she says that like she thought no one can do it. I suspect zero effort was tried as she wasn't exactly happy about trying to call the warehouse. She also tells me Saturday pick ups are now off the table. Which makes me believe they will no longer bring it to the store as I was originally told or accommodate me or a shipper to pick it up on a Saturday. Which means I would have to take of work, which I cannot support or spend 300$ more dollars on shipping than me driving. Overall I have spent 3k on this fire pit and no effort has been put in to help me. I have nothing besides say I want to pick up on a Saturday. The item would have been picked up that initial Saturday or the following or the following. But they have provided zero accommodation after their very large mistake. This mistake has discredited me as a user of the shipping app and now has a monetary cost associated as i can cannot accommodate driving for 3 more weeks. Additionally that original shipper was supposed to pick up a second item for me in atlanta. Because the fire pit could not be picked up a mattress also could not be picked up in atlanta. So I am out on mattress and fire pit. This company has provided zero help to me as they put me in this situation to begin with read more

We purchased a fireplace screen and was told it was in stock at the warehouse. It was going to take a week to get it from the warehouse near Carowinds to the store. I called a week later and no screen. Called again next day and still no screen. Order lost! My husband drove to warehouse to get it. Omg! Warehouse was dirty and disorganized. Found the screen all dirty and missing a bolt but took it anyway! Tried to call the store and no one answers the phone. They don't return phone calls, emails, or anything else. When you go in the store they pretend to type random stuff into a computer and then proceed to tell you to call back in a few days. Lather. The new house we bought has a gas starter for the fireplace but the key was missing and the nozzle needed to be replaced. So we went online to find a starter kit that contained replacements for these parts & found the listing for this place. We found exactly what we needed here and for a bit less than the prices we saw online. When I stopped in the store to pick it up, I experienced fast & friendly service. We have bought several patio pieces here over many years but my most recent experience was not good. I ordered a loveseat and two chairs at the end of May. I was told 6-8 weeks for delivery. I received the two chairs 10 weeks later at the beginning of August. The rest of the order was not included and the sales staff they had no explanation as to why the loveseat was not manufactured at the same time since they were the same material. We were told it would be at least three additional weeks for the rest of the order. We just received the rest of the order this past weekend, 17 weeks from when the order was placed. The summer was over by the time I received the items. When we requested a discount upon picking up the order since we waited so long, missing the summer months of use, it was denied. Poor customer service. I will not be returning. read more

My original rocker/swivel chair lasted 3 years until the base broke from the chair. It was under the 15 year warranty. The manufacturer said it would be the end of August before they could get me a replacement. Kyle Shaw, the warranty department manager for Fire House got me a loaner rocker/swivel chair in the interim. I love the furniture because it is extremely comfortable and durable. I bought 4 pieces and have used them quite a bit. I recommend the furniture as it is durable and fashionable. I didn't expect the rocker to break in 3 years but a big thanks to Firehouse for the loaner. I will recommend to others. read more

So incredibly disappointed with the customer service at the Johnston Road location!!! They are really excited to sell you a fireplace system...then are not able to provide you a complete and fully operational fireplace system!!! It's been over 3 months and they still CANNOTget their act together and replace a broken log or even provide us with a status of the 'replacement log from their distributor!!! They only can respond by saying how apologetic they are!!! Really???... that is not an acceptable reaponse!! How embarrassed they should be!!! We had a fabulous experience from start to finish! The showroom has plenty to choose from (other stores we visited had a lot less), the sales team was very friendly and helpful, but not pushy or "salesy". We were able to take our time and sit on everything. They even moved pieces around so we could see what things would look like with different sets/cushions/styles. They communicated with us regarding our purchase in terms of when to expect delivery (we ordered a few custom pieces). The delivery was well done in terms of communication and set up. A GREAT delivery team, respectful, professional, and very helpful (we asked them to try a couple different spots and they did so with a smile and a laugh). Shopping for an outdoor bar/serving cart for our backyard. Looked at several pieces, prices seemed kinda high (twice as much) compared to the research and browsing I did on wayfair prior to coming in. They did have some higher end and custom options though. After about 15 minutes, no one acknowledged me, asked if I needed help, or even smiled. There were at least 6 employees on the sales floor. All of the older, Caucasian customers appeared to be attended to. I decided to do a second "lap" around the store just to see if anyone would acknowledge me, but to no avail, despite several employees unoccupied with customers at the time. Dixie did a fabulous job of selecting pieces and showing us two options based on our space, home style and personal taste which helped us to make the right choices. We could visualize how the furniture would look on our deck based on her presentation and space planning. Once we'd made our choices, Regina and the team at the Johnston road store did a great job of managing our order and keeping us informed of delivery dates. We appreciated their friendly and professional service, especially when we made changes to our order. Have night several items from here over the last 20 years. Went in to buy a gas fireplace. The lady who helped me was great despite only being hired a few days earlier. Was ready to buy ($1500) item (wanted to talk to wife about options - planned to come back next day to purchase) when the Shop Manager stepped in and threw down the heavy used car sales push - quote "So what's stopping you buying today" and "Let's get this done today". I asked her to stop over selling and to back off after her first comment (not to mention interruption) but she couldn't help herself, hitting me with the second quote. No sale here. Felt very sorry for the new associate as she lost a sale through no fault of her own - not to mention future sales and referrals. Shop Manager needs to go back to the car lot. There is no place for heavy sales tactics (so 70's) in retail. read more

Nice selection and offerings but customer service was lacking. We were looking to add gas logs which requires due diligence as you can't simply return them with your receipt. Our questions were met with a sense of arrogance and annoyance that we dare ask any questions. They never documented or provided a cost estimate until I asked for one. Ended up going to Hearth and Patio on Monroe Rd (night and day experience) and walked out same day with all our questions answered and a new set of logs in tow. read more

Great customer service provided by highly professional sales and delivery staff I bought porch furniture from Firehouse 13 years ago and it held up amazingly well. When a sling ripped, I learned Firehouse could replace the slings with new material. They also helped me change out the spring plates, so now my furniture is like new! read more

Do not waste your time with this place. We needed new gas logs. They make you pay $80 up front for the estimator to come to your house. In our case this took several weeks and a few phone calls. Nobody seems to know what they are doing over there. Finally a nice young man came by, took some measurements and said he would have some quotes to us the next day. Never heard from him or the company ever again. Of course they kept our $80. What a joke. read more
