Sampler Platter (for one): Part 2
    Heather F.

Sheshco has been a family favorite for meetups over the last few years. The atmosphere is warm and the food has been consistently delicious. Upon arriving, they greet you with a basket of warm fluffy pitas, and a zippy plate of toum (garlic dip). (This may be the best part of the meal honestly...drool...) I try to mix up my order to experience different things, but it's always a tough decision. This last visit I got the sampler plate which comes with hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbouli, beef and chicken shawarmas, falafel, meat and spinach pies, meat and vegetarian grape leaves, and then a choice of sides--I opted for rice (which comes with slivered almonds) and a side salad with romaine, cucumber and tomatoes. The portion was massive, and all of the flavors were spot on. The pies are a softer dough, and the falafels are on the more dense heavily spiced side, so keep that in mind depending on your preferences. My dad recently tried the David Basha (ground beef balls with tomato and mushrooms), and he remarked on how well spiced the mushrooms were and offered me some tasty morsels to enjoy. Sheshco previously has also been defined by their attentive service as well. I gather we've interacted with Robert quite a bit (based upon other reviewer's identifications), who does a wonderful job of making you feel like family. My last visit the service was a little more sporadic, but the staff was dealing with a very large (seemingly inconsiderate) table, which I think impacted things unfortunately, so I'm not counting it as a negative. Finally, I'll just note that the portions in general are very generous. A plate for one can actually easily feed two people, even with a good appetite, so keep that in mind when looking at the prices. It's good to share if you have a similarly oriented companion, but I do wish sometimes they offered a smaller plate at a lesser price point. But as my family says, I wouldn't mind if there were leftovers....

Delicious! Warmly greeted by the owner. Overall a great dinning experience. The portions are huge. We ordered the sampler for two and I believe it could have feed four. Very flavorful dishes . I especially loved the Baba Ganoush and all dishes were well prepared and delicious, including the tahini and falafel.

Sheshco is a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant that is homey and comfortable. I love dining in there because Robert the main host and greeter is the friendliest person I've ever interacted with. He's always so cheery and kind and it sets the tone for your experience. In my last review I noted that our server wasn't the friendliest, but I will say that's definitely not typical of my visits. We recently stopped in after I got home from a work trip needing some veggies. I love that you can get grilled vegetables as your side (or rice or fries). I got the shish kabob plate with grilled veggies, and Nate got a shawarma. Each meal at Sheshco starts with their complimentary bread and toum, or garlic sauce. It's like Lebanese garlic butter and it's so delicious. The bread is always fluffy, soft, and super hot as you can watch them making it in the oven. The shish kabob plate comes with a soup or salad. I always get the lentil soup, as it's a favorite of mine. It's simple but so delicious, especially with a squeeze of lemon. I like that they ask how you want your meat cooked since I prefer medium rare/rare. Our food came out quickly and the portions are generous. I loved the steak - it was so tender and seasoned well. The veggies were a healthy choice although I wish the onion was grilled a bit more. This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant and I always look forward to eating there!

The business is located in a strip business plaza near the cinema so there is a ton of parking. Signs on the door to show you where to enter from the street was helpful. I was politely greeted and sat in a booth. I ordered a falafel salad, hummus, chicken, rice and vegetables. Mohammed waited on me and he was very polite and attentive. The facility was clean, smelled good and well decorated. I enjoyed the warm atmosphere and quite while I ate meal. The service was fast, friendly and price was completely within reason for items purchased. I was given a togo box and a bag when it was time. I did use the restroom and it was clean, well stocked and the floors clean. Overall pleasant experience for my first time there. Definitely will go back. Food was amazing

    Chicken gallaba

Ordered take out through Uber eats so cannot comment on service or overall restaurant. The food was delicious. I don't usually order gallaba but wanted something with a lot of veggies and this didn't disappoint. The flavor was great and everything was perfectly cooked. There were 4 massive slices of squash and multiple sliced veggies as well. I ordered a cup of crushed lentil soup and that was good- I always add salt and pepper when I order this but I like excessive seasoning. The hummus is a classic. Creamy and flavorful. We got a small side of garlic whip. Personally i think it needs more of a garlic flavor (I also add 10x amount of garlic to a recipe than what they call for. I am middle eastern so this is a staple in my diet). My husband says it is the best garlic whip he has had. My husband ordered 2 wraps and devoured them- chicken shawarma and falafel.

Menu - careful, most meat is marinated in peanut butter!
    Letitia J.

The food here is good. However, I write this post geared towards people who are allergic to peanuts. Be careful - they marinate most of their meat in peanut butter. I found out the hard way a couple of days ago. I'm allergic to peanuts, so I was really surprised when I felt my throat getting really itchy as I was eating their Shish Kebob. I ate the first piece of meat and marveled at the tenderness. It was so nice and juicy! Their vegetables were also delicious. However, after a couple of minutes, I started to get an allergic reaction. I called the waitress over, and she explained to me that they marinate all of their meats (except for chicken) in peanut butter. They also use the same grill for all their meats, so for those who have deathly reactions, I wouldn't eat their other food just in case. She was very nice about it. That being said, they really SHOULD write that they marinate their foods in peanut butter somewhere in the menu. Put an asterisk next to the meats if you will, but just... write it down. The lentil soup I had from them was really good, and the bread and garlic spread was delicious. I know it's strange that I'm giving them a 4 star, but their food still is really good. My friends loved their food, and based off of that one piece of meat, I thought it was good. They didn't charge me for my plate, only for the lentil soup. But if I hadn't been so perturbed by my allergic reaction, I would have asked for the lentil soup to be complimentary. So, just a heads up to those who are allergic to peanuts - maybe... stay clear from this place. I'm surprised they don't mention it in their menus, since peanut allergies are not uncommon, Good and pleasant service though... the host was over the moon and so friendly with all the customers.

I have noticed that over the past year, this stand has changed at least once, but it's always been a Mediterranean type of casual spot where they make your food in front of you. I wanted a salad recently and saw they had a kale salad on their menu at Damascus. The menu board said it was $5 for a "regular" and $8 for the larger size. I ordered the regular kale salad and asked to add gyro meat. When the order rang up, it came to $15 after tip! I was a little shocked but didn't say anything since I didn't know if maybe he misheard me or the prices weren't correct. Either way, it was a little shocking and I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought he'd make the salad right there, but someone in the back brought out a bag to me. It felt heavy! I opened up the container and had to laugh - it was a massive portion of gyro meat completely covering up the small salad! I did get my money's worth, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Either way, the salad itself was delicious. Honestly it was too much meat, even for me (a meat lover), and some of it was a bit dry. I know my coworkers enjoy the bowls at this spot (but they have also mentioned how the price can vary wildly for them) so I may try one of those next time I'm in the mood for something a little healthier.

Our host was super kind, helpful with the menu and had a sense of humor. Grape leaves - I believe it was cold if I remember, and it's a softer/mushy texture. The host called it "Turkish Sushi." It was good and different! Appetizers- phenomenal. Fresh, hot, flavorful. We had cheese served on a hot stone, it was beautiful. Nothing was over or under seasoned. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nice fry, nice bake, nice sizzles. Salmon was cooked just right. Calamari was fried great and had a good crunch. Feta borek reminded me of crab cheese ragoons. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. My friend, Darius, ordered the Chicken shish kebab and the pita was dry, cold and stale. They immediately returned with fresh, hot, moist bread. We were instantly greeted and everyone was very friendly. The menu is kinda intimidating with so many options and everything having unique names. The staff said they'd help us walk through it all, which was helpful. There are literally 26 different things you can add to your order. My wife ordered a bowl and I order a pita, which they call a "sandweech" for some reason. The portions were large but it somehow got pretty pricey, even though I felt their menu was very reasonable. We each added a fountain drink and then I asked for a side of garlic, assuming it would come with a bunch of pita bread to dip. They asked if we wanted chips or pita, and we said pita. We got 1 piece of pita to share and basically a tub of garlic. It was comical and disappointing. I'm not sure if this is normal or we needed to pay for more pita. We each had half of a pita to dip in a jug of garlic. Overall, the food seemed fresh and it tasted great. The dining area was very clean and the parking was simple. Our only complaint was the side not coming with more pita. After looking at the menu from our table, I realized they could have made ours both a combo, since we ordered drinks and one side, and we could get another side as well, but they never suggested that. We'd probably come back in the future but there are a ton of pita places around town, especially locally owned options.

They'd only been open for a week or two, but the service was smooth and friendly. There is some space to dine in but if you have a large group it might be best to take it to go. The menu is simple yet kind of overwhelming as many things are customizable. They have bowls, wraps, quesopitas, sides, salads, and soups. You can make any of the entrees into a combo for an additional $5, which gets you a drink and a side. I went with the fattoush salad with dark meat chicken and feta, and Nate got the "sandweech" (wrap) combo with gyro meat. It was a bit tough to order as it was really loud in there with a lot of beeping/alarms going off and a lot of people talking all at once, so be aware if you are hard of hearing because I think that would be really difficult. However, the employees were all friendly and helpful with suggestions. I was asked some questions I didn't really know the answers to like if I wanted oil on my salad (after the dressing had been added)... so I just asked what the recommendation was. The food is prepared in front of you and everything seemed fresh. I was impressed by the size of the salad - we definitely could have split it. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, and I loved the crunchy pita. Nate's gyro sandweech was also delicious, with plenty of sauce and tender meat. But the star of the show for me was the hummus and pita. This is the best hummus I've ever had in my entire life. It was SO creamy and flavorful. I could eat the entire container by myself. The pita was crispy and perfect to dip. They have some weekly specials that I'm interested in checking out (like Tuesdays when you can get two Dearborn sandwiches for only $10). You can order online ahead of time and they have a rewards program. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and more of that hummus!
