This review is strictly for the food only because I have only ever ordered delivery via uber eats! If I want Mediterranean food, this is absolutely always where I get it from! I've tried a handful of places around town, and Sheshco has been the most consistent and fresh for me! My go to order is a chicken shawarma sandwich, a side of fries, and a small fattoush salad. Sheshco has been a family favorite for meetups over the last few years. The atmosphere is warm and the food has been consistently delicious. Upon arriving, they greet you with a basket of warm fluffy pitas, and a zippy plate of toum (garlic dip). (This may be the best part of the meal honestly...drool...) I try to mix up my order to experience different things, but it's always a tough decision. This last visit I got the sampler plate which comes with hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbouli, beef and chicken shawarmas, falafel, meat and spinach pies, meat and vegetarian grape leaves, and then a choice of sides--I opted for rice (which comes with slivered almonds) and a side salad with romaine, cucumber and tomatoes. The portion was massive, and all of the flavors were spot on. The pies are a softer dough, and the falafels are on the more dense heavily spiced side, so keep that in mind depending on your preferences. My dad recently tried the David Basha (ground beef balls with tomato and mushrooms), and he remarked on how well spiced the mushrooms were and offered me some tasty morsels to enjoy. Sheshco previously has also been defined by their attentive service as well. I gather we've interacted with Robert quite a bit (based upon other reviewer's identifications), who does a wonderful job of making you feel like family. My last visit the service was a little more sporadic, but the staff was dealing with a very large (seemingly inconsiderate) table, which I think impacted things unfortunately, so I'm not counting it as a negative. Finally, I'll just note that the portions in general are very generous. A plate for one can actually easily feed two people, even with a good appetite, so keep that in mind when looking at the prices. It's good to share if you have a similarly oriented companion, but I do wish sometimes they offered a smaller plate at a lesser price point. Wow! From the minute we entered we were welcomed by the happiest host, Robert. We were seated within one minute. We immediately received complimentary toum and pita which was delicious. We ended up taking some home. We ordered grape leaves and falafel which were good. Then our main course came and the portions were huge! I had the shish combo for one. The beef kabobs was amazing, as was the chicken tawook, the lamb kafta was good too. The veggies the came with the meal were charbroiled and done perfectly. The meal also came with a fresh salad with a wonderful house dressing. Our food came out quickly and our server sadeq was wonderful , fast and pleasant. We left with a ton of food. Sheshco is a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant that is homey and comfortable. I love dining in there because Robert the main host and greeter is the friendliest person I've ever interacted with. He's always so cheery and kind and it sets the tone for your experience. In my last review I noted that our server wasn't the friendliest, but I will say that's definitely not typical of my visits. We recently stopped in after I got home from a work trip needing some veggies. I love that you can get grilled vegetables as your side (or rice or fries). I got the shish kabob plate with grilled veggies, and Nate got a shawarma. Each meal at Sheshco starts with their complimentary bread and toum, or garlic sauce. It's like Lebanese garlic butter and it's so delicious. The bread is always fluffy, soft, and super hot as you can watch them making it in the oven. The shish kabob plate comes with a soup or salad. I always get the lentil soup, as it's a favorite of mine. It's simple but so delicious, especially with a squeeze of lemon. I like that they ask how you want your meat cooked since I prefer medium rare/rare. Our food came out quickly and the portions are generous. I loved the steak - it was so tender and seasoned well. The veggies were a healthy choice although I wish the onion was grilled a bit more. This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant and I always look forward to eating there! read more

The business is located in a strip business plaza near the cinema so there is a ton of parking. Signs on the door to show you where to enter from the street was helpful. I was politely greeted and sat in a booth. I ordered a falafel salad, hummus, chicken, rice and vegetables. Mohammed waited on me and he was very polite and attentive. The facility was clean, smelled good and well decorated. I enjoyed the warm atmosphere and quite while I ate meal. The service was fast, friendly and price was completely within reason for items purchased. I was given a togo box and a bag when it was time. I did use the restroom and it was clean, well stocked and the floors clean. Overall pleasant experience for my first time there. Definitely will go back. Food was amazing read more

We went to Sheshco Mediterranean Grill for dinner last night. First impressions were not great. Firstly, there were MANY dirty, not yet bussed tables. We stepped up to the reception desk to be seated. There were two men at the desk, arguing. Not sure what it was about, because it was not in English, but they didn't even acknowledge that we were there to be seated. They both walked away briefly, leaving the desk empty, only to come back, still arguing. After one left, the other finally acknowledged us, and sat us in a booth that was just cleaned. A young server came to bring us our drinks and take our order. We ordered the Sampler Plate for Two at $40.00. Shortly, the server came with two small bowls, with different sauces in them. One was hummus, the other we never figured out, and both had what looked to be a small slice of maybe pickled beet, but we never figured that out either. After about 10 minutes, the waiter came back and apologized, saying that they completely ran out of bread. He said they had enough for the morning, but have none left for the sauces he just served us. Then he went back toward the kitchen. We were a little miffed about that, and called him back to see if there is something else we could get instead. He said that we could maybe get some flat bread, but he'd have to ask his manager. Finally he brought out the cold flat bread. Would have been much better warmed up. Anyway, the Sampler Plate came. It looked great. Big servings. It also came with a couple of liquidy sauces in small plastic cups with lids. Never figured out what those were. Our server apparently disappeared into a black hole, so we had to ask someone else for a couple plates! We also had to pay a different server, because ours never did return. The food was delicious. The service and ambience of the place leaves a LOT to be desired. The decor was mediocre at best and the service was severely lacking. You would expect MUCH better service for the prices. i was too hungry to take pictures but oh man this place is a gem. i visit gr occasionally and im often stumped on what to eat around the area but this was a solid choice i got it as take out and the portions were huge! i got the beef shish kabob entree with rice which came with hummus and we also got lentil soup or the day my husband got a veggie plate entree with salad. dressing was really simple and tasty. vinegary with maybe some sumac. the veggies were so good - onion and zucchini was charred/grilled and so tasty the beef was cooked to perfection - we asked for medium and it was the right shade of pink. pita bread was awesome the next day with left overs - i highly recommend freezing all the pita bread - as you are sure to have leftovers - and pop them in the oven as it preheats and it will be almost as good as new i would love to dine in in the future as the ambiance of this place is so cute with the little lanterns, the murals, and cute old school stylized booths and chairs. the servers were always accommodating - we got take out from this place twice in a few days in between bc i loved it that much! i will be sure to be back next time we are in town - sorry i didn't take any pics - was just devouring the food each time haha read more

I don't usually order gallaba but wanted something with a lot of veggies and this didn't disappoint. The flavor was great and everything was perfectly cooked. There were 4 massive slices of squash and multiple sliced veggies as well. I ordered a cup of crushed lentil soup and that was good- I always add salt and pepper when I order this but I like excessive seasoning. The hummus is a classic. Creamy and flavorful. We got a small side of garlic whip. Personally i think it needs more of a garlic flavor (I also add 10x amount of garlic to a recipe than what they call for. The food here is good. However, I write this post geared towards people who are allergic to peanuts. Be careful - they marinate most of their meat in peanut butter. I found out the hard way a couple of days ago. I'm allergic to peanuts, so I was really surprised when I felt my throat getting really itchy as I was eating their Shish Kebob. I ate the first piece of meat and marveled at the tenderness. It was so nice and juicy! Their vegetables were also delicious. However, after a couple of minutes, I started to get an allergic reaction. I called the waitress over, and she explained to me that they marinate all of their meats (except for chicken) in peanut butter. They also use the same grill for all their meats, so for those who have deathly reactions, I wouldn't eat their other food just in case. She was very nice about it. That being said, they really SHOULD write that they marinate their foods in peanut butter somewhere in the menu. Put an asterisk next to the meats if you will, but just... write it down. The lentil soup I had from them was really good, and the bread and garlic spread was delicious. I know it's strange that I'm giving them a 4 star, but their food still is really good. My friends loved their food, and based off of that one piece of meat, I thought it was good. They didn't charge me for my plate, only for the lentil soup. But if I hadn't been so perturbed by my allergic reaction, I would have asked for the lentil soup to be complimentary. So, just a heads up to those who are allergic to peanuts - maybe... stay clear from this place. I'm surprised they don't mention it in their menus, since peanut allergies are not uncommon, Good and pleasant service though... the host was over the moon and so friendly with all the customers. read more

My oh my, if this isn't the best mediterranean spot in town. I really can't speak highly enough of Sheshco. Upon entering the cozy and quaint space, you are immediately greeted by Robert, who is a delightful cocktail of charming, hospitable and eager. He really missed his calling as a game show host, because the guy has quips and compliments for days. The pita bread and toum (garlic dip) is absolutely intoxicating. And it's UNLIMITED. This has to be the highlight of my trips to Sheshco, as by the time my actual meal arrives, I'm half stuffed from chowing down on bread and garlic (a match made in heaven). The food is all very fresh and delicious. I typically opt for a sandwich (wrap), as they're decently sized and fairly priced. The usual plates are enormous, and combined with the bread and toum, there is no way a single person could eat all of the food that comes with it. And last but not least, it's FAST. Like, you sit down and the bread hits your table within a few minutes, with your order arriving shortly afterwards. I could be in and out in 30 minutes if I really needed to, which is a must for a quick work lunch. Fanastic value. Stellar service and speed. Fresh, tasty dishes. Reason number 1 to go here: the bread is AMAZING! We've gotten takeout twice from here and have been really impressed with the food both times. It's a nice change of pace from the normal takeout places like pizza, Mexican, Chinese, etc. Both times I arrived, my food was ready and they were quick to greet me and process my pickup. I can't really say much about eating at the restaurant since I got takeout both times, but it looks like a nice place to have a sit down dinner. Service? 4/5 and food? 5/5.. so I'll round up. Most of my experiences here have been fantastic! But if they're busy, know the service is going to be a bit lacking... However, any time I'm craving Mediterranean food in Grand Rapids, I always go to Sheshco's. The gentleman who greets everyone is always so cheerful and friendly. Typically, the wait is pretty limited but when they're busy, there's not much of a space for you to stand and wait. When it comes to bang for your buck, the chicken shawarmas sandwich is the best! I think it's ~$7 and absolutely delicious! We usually order hummus or something to enjoy with the complementary pita and garlic spread, and there is always way more than you need, getting full off the pita. We decided to order a side of fries as well for our shawarmas but it did not arrive until almost the end of our meal. We almost asked our server to cancel the order because he was not attentive and rarely came back. It looked like he was trying to cover tables across the whole restaurant which leaves some tables unattended. My only gripes are that the toum wasn't as garlicky as I'm used to and you only get to choose rice or vegetables with your entrée. They wont allow you to split rice and vegetables like other mediterranean places in Grand Rapids do. We don't just dine in and carry out: The food here is so good that when I have guests and want to serve my own Mediterranean style grill food I order all the sides from Sheshco. I could spend a ton of money and a heroic amount of time making baba, hummus, toum, tabbouli, and dolmas etc - or I can place an order at a very reasonable price, pick it up before my guests arrive and spend my time enjoying the evening with friends. Service is consistently great, and I have never, not even once, walked in and not received a very warm welcome - every single person who works the host/hostess stand knows the assignment impeccably. I am addicted lol I went to this place 2 days in row because of the delicious shawarma addiction! The first day i tried chicken combo dish and beef combo dish. In chicken combo dish, the shawarma and the crispy chicken were a game changer! I like the fact that they make their shawarma from tender chicken parts like thighs l. The crispy chicken was good as well. Unfortunately the sheesh tawook was so dry and hard to chew. In beef combo dish, the kofta (kabob) and keba were very juicy and tasty! Very nice dish. On the other hand, the beef shawarma was so so so dry and tasteless. One suggestion I can give us providing sauces with the dishes. The service was ok !
