I've wanted to try this place for a while and finally did, and it did not disappoint. I got the Chicago gyro meal which came with Greek fries and a fountain drink of your choice and it was honestly really good--flavorful, fresh, and just hit the spot. The service there was also super fast and the people were really nice, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I'll go back to!!

This sleepy place rocks gyros so hard. I haven't been here in nine years and it is as good as I remember! So good and so, so yummy. This place makes my heart so screaming happy.

Kind, quick, legit! A single guy, working hard behind the counter! (But he usually has his brother by his side...) Taking calls, making gyros, and preparing food. A local made a recommendation as I waited: if you like hard cider, come here to get your gyro, then pop next door to enjoy a cider! Good advice if you ask me! Other reviews read great! We called ahead and came within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, our pitas were so dry, they were cracking open. :( And the chicken, while flavored very nicely, was pretty dry as well. Fries were fresh and well seasoned! Baklava was delicious, but on the small side. Flavors for everything were on spot. Ask for the spicy garlic rolls to add some kick to your gyro. Thank you guys!!

I am not kidding when I say this is some of the best food in the city. My first time here, and it certainly won't be the last. The quality and amount of food you get for the price simply cannot be beat! The Chicago Gyro, pictured, was so insanely delicious, and easily two meals worth for me. We also had the seasoned fries which were quite tasty. My husband had the Koban's Choice and could barely stop eating it. The service was great-they could tell we were first timers and were so patient explaining as I couldn't hear well from behind the plastic for the toppings. The restaurant truly feels like a hidden big city spot and the vibes fit it. Very clean, with the best air of "if you know, you know".

This place came recommended by Bagel Kitchen and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and engaging, but it's really the food that sold us!

This restaurant is pretty unassuming from the exterior, but it's clear there is a lot of pride in the quality of food within. I ordered the gyro salad with all of the toppings. There is bar of fresh ingredients that you can add to your salad or wrap to customize it to your specific taste. I HIGHLY recommend the pepper relish! It's not too spicy, but adds punch of flavor. It was delicious! Completed my meal with a couple pieces of baklava. So good!

We order take out from here at least once a month and it is always amazing! We order via phone every time and have never dined in. Our food is always hot and fresh when we pick it up and it retains the heat until home. The authenticity that this food brings is top tier! The lamb is always nice and lean with meaty pieces. I love the salad and it's always loaded with veggies. Pro tip: when ordering a platter, get the salad on the side vs with the platter so that the entree isn't mixed with the salad. We always see the same man when we pick up so we assume he must be the owner and he's always so kind. Love this place!

Small family business ran only by two friendly people who where cooking, taking orders, and answering phones all at once. The portions were great and the price was low. Amazing food, i will definitely come again. Lamb Gyro Platter

They made me a delicious panini grilled cheese and veggie sandwich that was a perfect compliment to the recommended chili. I added onions and cheese to my chili and it was phenomenal! Flavorful and the exact right amount of spice. The whole mom 'n pop shop had fun add-ons that could be purchased like candy cigarettes, local pops and delicious sounding pints of ice-cream. I'm happy I found this little gem. Maybe next time I should test their pizza. Sold by the slice during the day for 3-4 bucks a slice. Definitely recommend the paninis and chili. Good deal for $13 and much tastier and more food than Panera bread's U pick 2. This place deserves all the business! Friendly and affordable. Support local, your stomach will thank you.

My cousin and I sat at the bar, and you can get full service at the bar. She ordered a hot dog and I had a pizza. The hot dog came with that weird neon relish, in typical Chicago fashion, and was on a poppyseed bun. The fries are crinkle cut, and I don't know what seasoning they use, but it was so good! A little sweetness mixed in with the spices. The pizza was good; thin crust and cut square style like they do in Chicago, which I forgot about and kind of hate. I should've asked for silverware, but didn't. Next time I'd ask for it pie cut instead. The flavor was really good though. It was a bit pricey for what it was - it was a 12" pizza, and each topping an additional $3. $21 just seems high to me for a thin crust pepperoni mushroom pizza. I had draft beer and my cousin had a mixed drink. She had no complaints about hers, and mine was quite good! So many places draft beer tastes a little soapy, whether it's the way the clean their lines or how they wash their glasses, but I didn't taste any of that here. There aren't many choices on draft but was a good variety. They also have a full bar and lots of canned beverage choices. They don't have the healthiest menu, but that's not surprising since they're known for Chicago hot dogs, Italian beef, and pizza. If you know what you're going for it's perfect! The vibe is good. The space is pretty open, gets a decent amount of light, is clean, and there is parking! The restrooms are tiny, but clean, and I appreciate that after you wash your hands the door opens out so you don't have to touch a handle. We went on a Monday after work, which does turn into karaoke night, but we had time for a couple drinks and food before that really got going. It also wasn't crazy in there and we could still carry on a conversation at the bar without having to yell. I'm glad I finally made it in, and fully appreciate having them in the North Monroe area. I will definitely plan to have more happy hours here!

I adore crab so ordering that was a no brainer. Their coffee is strong. It took a ton of cream to change the color... though it was delicious with free refills for $5. The omelette was heaven. The space is small and seating was a bit cramped. I wouldn't cone with more than 3 people max if you are hoping to be able to sit. But great if you want to grab it and head home. Shop was very loud due to the small space, music playing and people talking but thats expected. For me the cost seemed a bit high. The sandwiches just come on a standard size bread you would make at home and most of the options are just various ways to make a grilled cheese. And while they taste good, they are still $10 or more for a grilled cheese. Same for the soups, they taste good and lots of choices but for the small (12oz) you are still paying $8 or more. Which means even for just a standard grilled cheese and tomato soup you are spending $18 or more so it feels a bit expensive at that point. I had a Ruben (on standard sized bread) and a pastrami soup for $23. Also, no real need to upgrade for a $1 for the roll to come with your soup. Not really anything special about it. But again overall it did taste good on a cold day. Just which the cost was slightly lower and seating didn't feel cramped.
