I had been seeing some posts about a viral crispy chicken shawarma at Pita House, so I finally decided to try it. I ordered online for pickup, which was super easy and ready within 15 minutes! There are some designated parking spots in their lot, just be sure to check the signs so you are parking in the right places. Otherwise there is street parking and paid lot parking nearby. When I went in there was a bit of a line but I had fun looking at the shelves full of items for purchase like olive oil, spices, cookbooks, etc. They also had a section of Asian snacks. There's plenty of seating inside to dine in, but I think they also do a lot of takeout. My order was ready when I got to the counter and it was super hot! I really liked the crispy shawarma. The only thing I would change is to chop or slice the pickles - as rounds they are too big and the griddle made them really hot, which wasn't my favorite. I got a side of garlic sauce to dip which took it to the next level (I also just really love toum). I will definitely get this again and maybe ask if they could chop the pickles a bit smaller. I'd love to try other items on their menu too! read more

After an appointment we had a craving for Mediterranean food. Pita House was nearby so we tried it. AMAZING!! It's self service so after checking out the menu and reading reviews we both chose the Sami'spita sandwich with the recommended toppings: onion taziki sauce lettuce tomato and feta. The pita bread was soft and fresh and the sandwich is huge! The meat is a combination or beef and lamb. There are several options for toppings. The food came out promptly. We observed many food delivery people coming and going which confirmed that it's a popular place. We look forward to returning soon! read more

We had a taste of everything. Crispy chicken shawarma, beef and lamb gyro, and falafel pita. Large portions and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Proteins were seasoned and cooked well. I enjoyed their falafel patties. Baklava was a nice treat at the end of our meal. And the cherry on top was the service; nice homey feel. Definitely one to try if you are in GR. read more

The man at the counter treated my trans partner in a really inappropriate way. He would not make eye contact with her, was very short and snappy while taking her order, and made an audible disgusted sound after giving us our food. His demeanor with me way very different. I had pita house via delivery and it was absolutely delicious. Their garlic sauce is amazing and the bread the gyros come on is out of this world. You'll want to order three, though the portions are large so you only need one. It arrived hot and tasty. Do not pass on the French fries!! They are absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, personally I have not gone in only asked via Uber eats. My family members who have gone there say that the service and ambience is really nice and friendly. Whereas this is usually a recipe for frustration, as there's at least one person who just can't find anything to satisfy on any given menu, we were not disappointed here! Even the fussy eaters found crispy, tasty meat, creamy and flavorful baba ganoush and hummus and salads. The cafe Arabia - sometimes known as Turkish, Greek, or Macedonian coffee - really hit the spot. I would not think twice about a return visit with a whole gaggle of hungry, fussy eaters. read more

Perfectly tender meat, fresh bread, great tasting sauces, and the pickled veggies put it over the top. The pistachio cinnamon roll was also excellent. More pistachio flavor than cinnamon. Frosting was seriously incredible, I hope they make this a regular item. I wasn't a huge fan of the pumpkin spice baklava. It was refrigerated and I'm pretty sure it wasn't baked that day if you catch my drift. Didn't have that iconic flakeyness of phyllo dough. Flavor was a mild pumpkin spice with a bit of nuttiness and butter. I'd try their regular baklava for sure (next time!!!). Definitely coming back here. read more

Placed a quick online order here for lunch today and it did not disappoint! Super easy to order, ease of access with street parking or their small parking lot, and the food is amazing. They were also super friendly. I ordered the Sami's Gyro ($14) and customized it with tzatziki, garlic sauce, feta, tomato, cucumber, parsley, and sumac seasoning. This might be the best gyro I've ever had, and it was huge!! Tons of gyro meat, great flavor, and they didn't skimp on the sauce either. Would definitely recommend for a quick lunch! read more

Flavors and portions never disappoint! Pita House is my favorite Mediterranean spot in GR. I prefer platters but the gyros are just as good. Other than the food on the menu, there are also many drinks and snacks to purchase. There's a shelf of spices, sauces, chocolates, and other goodies by the register! The only thing I don't feel great about the last few times I stopped by is the service. If I hadn't had Mediterranean food before, I would've felt lost and rushed as my order was being taken. The person taking orders seemed a bit impatient and wouldn't explain the different options when my friend tried ordering for the first time. Luckily I was able to help out. It's kind of like ordering Mediterranean style Chipotle except there are no labels or guidance, simply "what do you want." Nonetheless, still my go-to Mediterranean spot in GR. It looked good from the outside. It was pricey which would have been fine if the quality measured up. The Lebanese salad was bland. The Cucumber sauce for the gyro platter was bland. We had a mix of chicken and also the beef/lamb gyro on the platter. It was cut in thick slabs, not crispy and not particularly tasty. Bottled hot sauce, not authentic. My whole wheat pita was crumbly, the flour pita was passable but not warmed. Quite disappointing. Stopped in for lunch and had a great gyro. It's nice to be able to see and select your own toppings as they make it in front of you. They give you a generous portion of meat and it tasted delicious. I can eat a lot and it was tough finishing the gyro myself. The workers were all extremely friendly and quick. You can get a combo with fries and a fountain drink, but I wanted a vitamin water so the price added up pretty quickly getting the gyro, fries, and a vitamin water separately. Went here twice with family. There's free parking. First time I had the chicken shawarma, it was delicious! Second time had the platter of chicken shawarma because I was extra hungry and it was very filling! Portions are pretty big so perfect to take home some leftovers. For dessert, we enjoyed the baklava which was perfectly portioned and the perfect cap to this meal. The real winner, however, were the AMAZING Greek fries!!! We are addicted!!! Before 2020, I never put more importance into the packaging of my food. But this year, since all we've been able to do is order takeout, it's become a whole new ballgame! Very good takeout experience with Pita House. Everything was packed up nicely and the entire order was complete. Baba ghanooj was a little chunkier/lumpier than I prefer, but the flavor was good. Greek fries and Tour of Greece platter satisfied my cravings, the included fattoush salad was particularly delicious with beautiful red, ripe tomatoes (sometimes a truly difficult thing to find in the middle of a MI winter).
