Excited to have more yemeni cafes in the city! I checked out Shibam recently and first thing I noticed was how easy the parking is--there's space right in front, which is always a win. Inside, the place is huge, with tons of seating making it a perfect spot to work or study. I tried their pistachio latte, which was smooth and flavorful, and the marouf, which had that bold, traditional Yemeni coffee taste I love. I also had their tiramisu, and it was really good--not too sweet and perfect with coffee. They have other desserts too that looked tempting. Service was fast and friendly and overall it's a great place to grab coffee and get some work done.

This cafe is spacious, open late, & has a parking lot! I came around 8/9pm for some late night dessert and was welcomed with warm modern interior. It was order at the counter, get a remote buzzer, & pick up the order and seat yourself. They had a whole dessert shelf of yemen indulgents from chocolate, pistachio, carrot, rose, honey, etc (not pictured). This is a charming spot & definitely recommend for a remote work cafe or dessert spot for those after hour cafe wants. The place says open til 10pm!

Beautiful ambiance and very helpful, kind service. We are so happy to have Shibam in the neighborhood! We ordered the iced pistachio latte and the mufawar coffee. Very yummy

Got the pistachio latte and it was great. Not too sweet nor strong in coffee. Just the perfect of both. Service was also quick as well. Love the ambiance as well

Red drink is the dragon fruit drink with lemonade and mango and the other is the iced Spanish latte with cocoa powder on top :)

First off everything I got was sooo good, love the drinks and desserts. Everyone was sooooo nice, they replaced my drink with a different one because of a misunderstanding on my end- they were super nice about it. BRAND new big and clean on the inside with gorgeous interior. Big free parking lot right in front. They are open till late, there's literally nothing in the area open late anymore. Please come and support them keep them around

I was looking for an Instagram-worthy coffee shop near me and happened to stumble upon this place. I've passed by it many times, but it never really crossed my mind to stop in until today and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Shibam Latte because I was curious about how the Yemeni spices would work in a latte. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it. The flavors were unique, well-balanced, and unlike anything I've had before. I paired it with their tiramisu mousse, and the combination was perfect. The café itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere that's great for relaxing, catching up on work, or simply enjoying a quiet day off. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can definitely see myself coming back regularly. This might just become my new go-to coffee spot whenever I'm off work.

New neighborhood spot offering delectable deserts and a variety of flavorful coffee and teas. We came in late on a very cold day and the hot Adani Chai and Hot Chocolate hit the spot. Pro tip, dip small spoonfuls of the tiramisu into the hot chai! The service was very friendly and quick and the space is beautiful. Prices are very reasonable as well. We cannot wait to come back and try the coffee!

City skyline has a ton of aviation-related memorabilia, including bona-fide airplane seats and a bulkhead, complete with overhead compartments. I was even temped to buckle my seatbelt for the completeness of the experience, but felt that if there was 'turbulence' this was perhaps the only case where I *wouldn't* want my seatbelt fastened. Together with the aforementioned, the vibe is comfy, and not a bad spot to spend an hour or two. The latte I ordered was good. It wasn't overly sweet, and had great flavor. A latte lover would likely get more enjoyment out of it, compared to someone like me, who like their coffee industrial strength with the bitterness to go with it. The prices are fair - not the cheapest ever, but without the gut punch of competitors. The service is great. It is polite and fast. Point also for being mindful of a person experiencing a mental health condition outside, and locking the door that they do not create a severe disruption. Final verdict: The coffee is very good, but the cozy, aviation vibe is the real selling point! Would recommend?: Yes, especially to av-geeks. Would return?: Yes, especially when I get the itch to simulate flying somewhere, only without delays, TSA, or any of the discombobulation related to airports and flying.

It's also not good looking inside, so it's not the typical coffee shop to stay at a long time. Cafe Utjeha has been around quite a while yet many people don't know about it. Has pretty good products as far as coffee at affordable prices. The service was friendly at least from the barista, while the men are kind of just there it seems. A reason why many haven't known about this place is because of where it actually is. It's easy to miss it because there's not much going on. This is north of Lincoln Square, where there's a lot more hip stuff. Clean interior, at least as far as you can see because it's dimly lit. It's not that welcoming compared to a typical coffee shop. At least the female barista was friendly. The men who worked there didn't interact. As far as the coffee, it's good. It's about $3 for most things. Has some non dairy milks. There's some pastries like this flaky thing kind of like baklava, or you can get something healthier like an orange. Basic stuff in this small cafe. It's kind of like being in Turkey or some Eastern European type of place with music. There wasn't that much of a smoke smell as there had been previously.

It was pricey but enough for 2 people to share. Metered parking on a weekend evening was easy. My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.
