Right when coming in you see the bar and the pool tables behind it

We went in around 10 pm and they were really busy which is good. However, it being a weekend, it's the norm to get your own drinks from the bar instead of trying to get a cocktail from the cocktail waitress. The food is really good and it helps out since the kitchen opens late. It's a great place to have a date night as well as a friend gathering. There are six single gender neutral bathrooms, which they keep clean. The music is lively and consists of reggaetón, hip hop, country, to indie. It depends the type of night and reason why they choose the type of music they will play. For example, tonight was a celebration of Latin American heritage so they put a variety of reggaetón.

The place LOOKS great. Really, it's beautiful. Tables are nice, they have spots to lean the cues (I'm amazed not all pool halls do this), the lighting works perfectly with the colors of the table, yada yada. Clearly a lot of attention was paid to the design of the space. Food could use some help. Tostones really lacked flavor. Thinner cuts and more salt would be great. Fries could also use more seasoning. As for the drinks, let's not be so skimpy on the cocktails. Use a full 16 oz glass for Bloody Marys like everyone else does if you're going to charge what everyone else does. And staff: be a little more attentive. I waited up front while one of the staff members spoke to a friend for a good three minutes. Literally just waiting for them to finish chatting while I didn't even get a hello. That's not cool. Is three minutes the end of my life? No. Is it a good first impression for a new customer to ignore them while having a completely non-work-related convo? Also no. Serve the customers and then return to your convo. Win-win.

The bar and trivia night on Wednesday!

Service was great and so was ambiance! Food was below average and I would not eat again. The empanadas tasted as thought they were stale and rotten!

Awesome friendly environment! Came for a game and some cafe! Delicious and chill environment! Family friendly and enough space to enjoy in this pandemic and open on Sunday's! Pool tables in good condition and clean.

I really love that this place exists! Doesn't have the dive bar vibes I usually find with pool tables, plus the cafe option really classes up the place. I did come at a pretty empty hour, but the tables are honestly so clean and fun, I would come and wait if I had to! Really cozy and pretty reasonable pool prices for an hour, plus apparently women play free on Wednesday's!

Absolutely love this place. Great spot for coffee, cocktails and bar bites. There are always ample pool tables and darts. The staff is kickass and super chill. They always support the community and this is great local spot to hang with all our friends. They always play really good music too. There's a lot of comfy table spots too with outlets for laptops. Support local!!!!

The day started off gloomy and gray, but as the clouds broke and the city transformed into a beautiful spring afternoon, the atmosphere inside Village Tap matched that same energy shift -- warm, lively, and welcoming. What truly makes this place stand out is the staff. Even while absolutely slammed with customers after another raucous Cubs post game crowd rolled through, Meg and Kevin never missed a beat. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and ability to stay accommodating under pressure was genuinely impressive. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and ability to stay accommodating under pressure was genuinely impressive. They made sure everyone felt taken care of, stayed on top of drinks and service, and somehow still kept the experience fun and relaxed despite the chaos around them. Kevin's witty banter and sense of humor add a personality to the bar that you just don't find anywhere around that area. It creates the kind of environment where regulars and first-timers alike instantly feel comfortable. Meanwhile, Meg handles the rush with incredible poise and attention to detail, making sure guests always feel valued and welcomed. Village Tap has always been a great neighborhood spot, but experiences like this are what separate good bars from truly memorable ones. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and even better people behind the bar. Even on one of their busiest, most understaffed days, Meg and Kevin proved exactly why this place continues to be a Roscoe Village favorite. My only gripe is The Golden Tee Cabinet. Whats a guy gotta do to get a recalibration on that system! Mid Range left to right putts always miss on the low side. Not sure what to do, but I will carry on...

It was three of us meeting for dinner and some drinks. My friend had white wine, hubby had an Espressotini, and I the watermelon-cucumber marg. We ordered the cauliflower ceviche, the Cauliflower wings, and the Brussels sprouts as appetizer. Then as an entree, my friend had the Jalisco Burger, hubby had the Salmon, and I a Salmon Caesar Salad. I personally loved the salad and the appetizers were great. Everyone else ate ALL their food, so I assume they also enjoyed it. The location was actually having an 80s night and there was a Dj and space for dancing. There were some people there dress for the themed night and it was just a great vibe. Talking with our friend and eating made us lose track of time and then it was time to leave but before we did, we met one of the owners who actually recommended I come by and visit. (Shoutout to Marcos ) He is the most warm and sunny person, and he was so grateful we actually came by. We had a shot and honestly I'd come back because of him. He told us a little bit about him, his family and about the restaurant backstory. I truly recommend you coming here, you will have a great time. Oh, and almost forgot, they have outside sitting, so you know it will be a great time when you just want to have an outside patio vibe with friends and some drinks. P.s. As you can tell, there are only two pictures. I was so, involved in the moment with my friend's stories and then the appetizers came and nothing else mattered. We all lost track of time and just enjoyed the vibe, the beautiful night, and time with friends, drinks, and food. Oh and 80s music.

It was served with aioli and a healing serving of chips. I've never eaten seafood and been vegetarian for over 30 years, but my boyfriend had a taste and also thought it was good and said they got the right flavor profile. He got the burger and tots and said both were very good. I'll definitely be back!

We made a reservation at Over/Under. When we arrived, there weren't a lot of people yet and we got seated quickly at a table already set up with our name on it and lots of fun swag. We each received 5 drink tickets and 2 meal tickets. In addition to the fact that we wiped the floor with Kansas, we met some really nice fans from Chicago. They made our visit so much fun, filled with endless laughter and a great time. It was a nice mix of young and older folks like us and the young people were so respectful and friendly. It truly was a pleasant surprise. They gave us their bar stools with backs so that we would be comfortable. I don't know if Steven David, who we also met there works for the bar but he was funny as all get out. He says he's a comedian so if you're in Chicago, look for him at a comedy club. The owners were very friendly and we appreciated chatting with them too. We didn't get to our second meal or order half of our drinks bc we were having such a good time so we gave them away. The pretzels were good and nachos weren't bad. Edible. They also offered free opps for prizes and you could also buy tickets to win prizes. Overall, we really enjoyed our time.
