I figured wrong. There was a woman free at the counter so I went over and told her that I was looking for a specific pair of shoes and I just wanted to know if they had them in stock. I showed her the page with the information and she said that she didn't think they had any but she would look in the computer to double check. She couldn't find the item number on the page so I looked for it while she kind of sighed impatiently in the background. I finally found the item number and she let me know that they didn't have the shoes in stock but a nearby store did. I asked her to call and have them hold the shoes for me to make sure they weren't sold on my way over. Afterwards I asked for the address to the other store so that I could get the directions, not a very hard request if you ask me. She told me the general area it was in but not the address, I again asked if I could have the address so that I could put it in my GPS, she sighed unhappily again and reluctantly gave me the address to the other store. Let's just say that in the future I'm going to order my shoes online and wait for them to be shipped rather than be "helped" by someone who considers writing down an address difficult.

She could tell I was bothered and worried about finding out my account has been compromised. She did not offer to call customer service to see if theres anything they can find about how/when it was hacked or what not. Zero effort given to help me. And zero pleasantries on her part at all. She asked me the same question 5 times. I told her repeatedly I never had the dsw app downloaded so I could not give her my shoe lover reward number or whatever. All I know was my account was linked to my email and phone number which apparently the hackers have changed. Left a bad taste about this location. No empathy. No problem solving skills. No friendly free smiles. Just basic retail workers that have no common sense on how to troubleshoot or provide service. They only know how to click a few buttons, rinse, repeat. I did not expect her to solve anything bur just her lack of initiative to call customer service or act like she cared.

Shoes: The first thing I noticed about the SAS shoes (Ambassador) is how light there are compared to the Red Wings.. I'm talking probably half the weight. Also Red Wing tried to upsell you on their upgraded insoles, because the ones that come with the shoes are worthless if you have any type of arch in your foot.. and they start around $50 in addition to the $200 shoes. SAS shoes came with a very nice, thick, comfortable insole. Can't say enough about the shoes, if they last as long as the Red Wings did I'll be ecstatic.
