While prices are great here for a ton of different brands the service needs some major work. We were yet again completely ignored by multiple workers numerous times and were in the store for nearly 45 minutes looking for four different pairs of shoes . In fact, I recall seeing all these style bags (red and black) had all the same price of $49 attached. This is why I asked "Jess" my cashier directly what the price was and why she rang up $59. She said "$59 dollars." After stepping away from the counter I pulled out my shoes and new bag to double check. What a delightful way to spend an hour or two! I've come to love this place. Although, it is harder for me to find my size since I also go by the name "Bigfoot". I can wander down these aisles for days in a shoe state of mind. I especially like checking out the clearance section. But, be forewarned, sometimes the "clearance" price isn't any cheaper than the normal price on a similar shoe. However,I put that pair of shoes on, and for a brief moment in time, I'm the world's most famous runway model walking towards that mirror. It's not uncommon to see me pondering whether I really need another pair of black shoes....but, they're so cute and they're only $30 bucks! And designer label! The only part I don't like is having to do the percentages in my head, but that's only because I'm terrible at math. Otherwise, I love the store! If you spend the time you can really score some good deals here and once you find out the sizing for the different brands....check this out, you can go online periodically and check their clearance section. I always check out the clearance section first. In the past I've found amazing buys there. This time no such luck but we also found about 5 pairs that were great. Making a decision is the hard part. I noticed that the shoes available for purchase varies slightly for each DSW location. The availability of sizes can also be limited, which makes it difficult to test out a half size larger or smaller to figure out the best fit for your feet. There are a lot of shoes in the clearance section with different colored labels to indicate additional discounts. It might be helpful to check the men's section of shoes as well since there are some unisex styles. The men's section is only a couple of rows, compared to the women's section, which takes up the rest of the store. If you want to see additional options, they are available on the DSW website, but the downside is that it could be a hit or miss as far as picking out your size. Even then, you could probably exchange it for another size if you find it doesn't fit very well. I would recommend signing up for their rewards program because once in a while, they'll send coupons or notify you of discounts. Overall good selection of regular everyday shoes.  The store layout is pretty straight forward in that it is divided by men's and women's shoes and further sub-divided from there.  There were some shoes I saw as a special in front that I had a tough time finding, but one of the gals who works there jumped right in to point me to the right place. This is not for everyone.  One of my friends was looking for Asics running shoes which they did not have much of a selection.  For me who is good with anything, it had everything that I needed at a price that is most likely cheaper than you can find online.  Plus, you can try the on in-store and walk around so a one up for retail. read more

Unfortunately there are limited sizes on those many options although if you find a shoe you like and they don't have your size, they'll order it for you. Assuming you aren't wanting the shoes immediately it's not a bad deal. I find the employees here to generally be friendly and accommodating. Today I was in DSW, Chandler. I returned a pair of boots. I didn't even take them out of the bag when I got home. The clerk was so incredibly rude. Not a hi, how are you, drop dead. She scrutinized those boots like I was on Americas most wanted list. After the transaction was complete I wanted to buy another pair. I asked a floor clerk where the Birkenstocks were. She threw up her arm over there. Where I asked, over there by the mirror. I know staff is hard to find and hire, but come on if rudeness is the only criteria then DSW you have found your team. Badly managed and has rude staff. There were only 2 cashiers on a busy Friday afternoon. I waited at least 15 minutes to get to a register. The staff talk loudly and rudely as if you're stupid. If they hate their jobs so much they should quit. Does corporate even care ? Does anyone care anymore ? A woman stocking shelves reacted as if I was stupid for asking where the bathroom was. And an elderly lady named Shauny or Shauna was rude to me at the register. She made a scene just explaining why the info on their website promises availability but timing can't be counted on ! Yes you can locate shoes on their website and their stupid site says they can be available "in two hours" at the store you're in - but it's not true. They need to get to get their act together. You can't count on what their websites say about various stores/availability according to Shauny. AND you'll get a rude, nagging cashier like Shauny who makes YOU sound like you're ruining her day for asking. Her tone of voice and the loudness made it embarrassing. She spoke to me like I was 5 years old and "in trouble" plus like I was dumb for assuming I could believe what the DSW sites tell you ! Without customers no one at DSW would have a job. The "us verses them" attitude is disgusting. Hire more cashiers and train your employees to respect customers. read more

As a woman of color who grew up in the south, it is hard not to jump to racism BUT early today around 11am, my husband and I went to this DSW location to find him a pair of loafers. I had went to DSW back east all the time, love the store. However, this one star for customer service goes to the 22ish old, size 18, dyed blonde long haired young woman that followed me down every aisle 5 secs after we walked in the store. She did that thing where you "fix merchandise" and stare out the corner of your eye (I know, I worked retail all through college then 3 years after) but she was doing it 3 feet away from me. Obviously, she is not very good at following potential shoplifters. I asked my husband and he watched her follow us down every aisle. HE even started to feel uncomfortable for me (he is white). I do not know why I was targeted. I was the only non white person in the store but I think I look harmless- not a shoplifter. Race aside, you shouldn't be creepin hard on a customer and making them feel uncomfortable because what if, like me, they have no intention of stealing. read more

When I first walk in, I always go to the back to the sales racks. You can find shoes at an even deeper discount than in the regular part of the store and you can find some darn good deals. After that I troll the regular aisles. Hint having gone through a wedding in recent history...check out DSW first and frequently. I have a DSW problem...In the last 6 weeks I've bought 6 pairs of shoes, all from DSW. I'm one trip away from a shoeaholics anonymous meeting. The Chandler DSW is big...Great selection, and the prices are great. Specifically, the clearance section is awe inspiring. A lot of the shoes I've bought have been off the clearance rack, with deep discounts (40-60%). The staff is friendly and helpful, and they're willing to go the extra mile if need be. I really loved a certain color scheme in some Nike runners that they didn't have, so they called around to all their other stores, found one, had it put on hold and it was waiting for me when I got there. That's service that's not typically associated with a store featuring the word "Warehouse" in their name. They carry popular brands (Nike, Puma, Cole Haan, Creative Recreation, Penguin), as well as some random brands that you won't find everywhere. I got a great pair of grey suede slip ons from a label I've never heard of, but they're awesome and comfortable. It's all you can ask for. I recommend going, but you better just start writing a DSW line into your monthly budget. Go once and you'll be back. read more

I stopped by this DSW before Christmas to look at the new Sketchers Shape-Ups and found a huge selection. Using my phone (and the awesome bar code scanner apps) I easily ensured they had the best price. So 2 (that's right, count 'em TWO) parse of shoes later, I walked out a VERY happy camper. Sadly, I bought a somewhat defective pair, just a little loose bit on the sole, but for the amount I paid, I want a new pair. Here's where DSW really started to shine. I went in tonight, and showed the staff, they had NO problem. Sadly, they didn't have the size I needed in the color I wanted, but the employee who was helping me called their other stores, and then gave me advice on how to get the shoes replaced. I got 40% off of some black leather riding boots today in the clearance section even though they were selling the exact same model and color for their regular price in the boots area of the store. I had bought a pair of Deer Stag Black Men's Oxfords dress shoes. After just 5 months of wearing , the left shoe was coming off inside the shoe area. I have probably bought 6 pairs of the same shoes and have never had a problem. The clerk was sympathetic but the store manager was not at all. I told her that I was not looking for a free pair of shoes but possibly a discount of $20.00 on a new pair. She says she has no authority to do that !! Really !!!!!
