They told me the mistake, but only because I approached them. We literally waited an hour for pizza that I wouldn't wait any time for given its quality. The sauce was not good, my toppings were basially raw vegetables on top of the pizza and the cheese just ok. As for service no one told us about the delay and no one tried to make it right by offering to refund of our money, offering us a drink, anything!!! Not a single thing including a sincere apology. The restaurant was freezing. So we sat there for an hour very uncomfortable with our feet freezing as we wore our jackets to keep warm. They bathroom was not clean. Avoid this place for sure. TERRIBLE service, TERRIBLE ambiance and mediocre food.

This restaurant with table seating is also a museum too, which showcases memorabilia and artwork of the Battle of Walloomsac which took place on the nearby Bennington Battlefield. There are mannequins dressed with colonial attire, a mineral collection, drumset, and assorted collectables. The tavern side has stable seating and seating at the bar with dartboards, stuffed game heads/animals, foosball table, old books, mini flags, old beer taps, beer memorabilia, sports pennants, and plenty Norton Company caps (owner worked there). I stopped in at the Walloomsac Battlefield Tavern & Colonial Restaurant for pizza takeout recently. I ordered a 16" 8-cut Sausage & Mushroom Pizza ($16.20 with tax), which was ready in 30 minutes as promised. The pizza with plenty of fresh mushroom slices, ground sausage, red sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on a thin soft chewy crust. The mushrooms were a nice touch to add some extra umami to the pie. The pizza was well cooked, although I would usually like it a bit more well done. On the table is garlic powder, hot pepper, oregano, grated cheese and even some hot honey, so you can modify your pizza to your taste. The large pie made a nice dinner split between the two of us, we each got 4 good sized slices. Sam's is a great casual pizza joint, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick and we even had some very good live music to compliment our meal.
