Staying in Londonderry, Vt. for a ski trip and we wanted to grab some pizza for dinner; Sam's Wood Fired Pizza in Manchester popped up and we were very impressed with what we got. Sam's is in a small plaza set back from the street. Inside you find a nice casual pizza place, as you come in you have the pizza kitchen with the large wood fired pizza oven. You can order slices or whole pies, they also have salads, wings and a couple of sandwiches. We ordered a large mushroom pizza and grabbed a table by the small bar area. The bar has beer and wine, they offer a very nice selection of local brews. After settling in the pizza showed up quickly. Sam's pizzas are thin crust, nicely cheesy and have a good basic tomato sauce. The pizza are very good with a nice balance between the yeasty crust, the pungent cheese and the slightly sweet sauce. The mushrooms were a nice touch to add some extra umami to the pie. The pizza was well cooked, although I would usually like it a bit more well done. On the table is garlic powder, hot pepper, oregano, grated cheese and even some hot honey, so you can modify your pizza to your taste. The large pie made a nice dinner split between the two of us, we each got 4 good sized slices. Sam's is a great casual pizza joint, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick and we even had some very good live music to compliment our meal. Second time back, stayed at the hotel across the road. Post long travel bite. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and given a chance to review the pizzas menu choices. OK pizza for a decent price. The large is huge and enough for 4 people to have 2 pieces each. The problem is that the crust was soggy in the middle and the flavor of the cheese and toppings was bland. We got half combo and half veggie. The veggie half was more soggy than the one with meat but it was disappointing for both sides. Service was just ok as well. Polite but not friendly. Don't think we will be going back for more. read more

It's not mind-blowingly good pizza, but it's served by the slice, quickly and inexpensively, and it definitely does the job. The extra-large pepperonis are packed with spice, juiciness, and umami. I wish I had another slice right now. On the other hand, the barbecue chicken slice was really middle-of-the-road. The chicken felt on the verge of drying out, and the one-note sweet BBQ sauce is a like-it-or-don't proposition. At $5.50 before tip for two slices, and given the decidedly average size of the slices, I'd say I got what I paid for. read more

THE BEST pizza in Vermont! Located just off the road across from the quality inn hotel. I'm not sure how the place was prior to COVID and if they had any sittings inside, but right now there are a few tables outside like picnic tables and pretty big marble type like benches. So you can definitely find a spot to sit if you need to wait. Or just hangout. There's also free WiFi!! There's a parking that holds about 10 cats donuts pretty convenient. Now the pizzas. Got a large pie. It was thin crust but it was not cooked even. One side of the crust was burnt the other side undercooked. Toppings were not evenly spread out. If you are looking for a quick easy lunch for a few dollars this is a decent spot. We ate outside on one of their many bus yourself tables. Lunch special was $5 for two slices of cheese pizza and a drink. It's not "OMG" best slice ever but it's $5 people and it hits the spot. Great place to grab lunch with the kids. read more

Kat's Pizza was crazy good and tasty. Bacon and apple flavors mixed very well with the Gouda. The pizza was too doughy, unfortunately. It was firm enough to hold the slice in place folded, but needed a little more crunch to it. 5 stars for creativity and taste, but I can't get to 4 stars because of the chewy dough. I was hungry for wood fired pizza so was very excited to see the reviews for sam's and to see that they were open when a lot of local places were closed for spring break. The space is great. There's an order window and outdoor patio tables and picnic tables. We got a Greek salad that was good. Unfortunately, the pizza was a hard no from us. We got a plain and a pepperoni and neither was cooked all the way so we had to crisp them up on the griddle. I know it was cooked in a wood fired oven because I saw it, otherwise I wouldn't have believed it. It didn't have any of the slight crispiness or flavor you typically get on wood fired pizzas. The sauce is very very sweet, almost like cafeteria pizza sauce. Overall, it was fine but not something I'd rave to my friends about. read more

The staff was friendly and very response to any special requests. Even though there's a steady influx of customers, we didn't wait for more than 10 minutes for a freshly made pie.
