A really cool spot to grab a drink and have a few appetizers. The outside potato is a real vibe, we saddled up at the bar and ordered a few drinks. The drinks were good. For appetizers we had the olives and the cheese plate. The plate had three different types of cheeses along with some bread, crackers, almonds, beets and some honey. The food itself was good, but the service was unfortunately very poor. Our waitress forgot several things we asked for, and we had to get up twice to find her because she was so unresponsive. We were a party of five. Four of us received our food, but the fifth person (who ordered the baked pasta) didn't get her meal until after everyone else had already finished. I had to follow up multiple times, and only then did it finally arrive--more than 40 minutes later. The waitress never informed us that this dish might take longer, and if we had known, we wouldn't have ordered it. What made things worse was the lack of apology or accountability. When I followed up again, both the waitress and the host just chuckled, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. read more

Come here for a fantastic wine selection, some of the best cocktails you'll ever have, and homemade pasta. Oh and the freshly baked Parker House rolls are also a must. Reservations are needed and easy to book on Resy. Great spot for a date night. read more

Hate to say it but the service has gone down massively. We have been going to this place for almost five years when it wasn't as built up and during Covid. Even would sit outside in the cold to eat the food. We always enjoyed the food and experience in all the iterations. But now, their ego has gotten a bit too big. We called to get a table and were told we could sit at the high top or the bar. Which is fine. We got there and it was almost empty. The whole place. Sat at the high top anyway and didn't make a fuss. Looking at the menu, eventually the host came over and took our drink order. They came and we waited and waited. Thought maybe someone had called in sick and they were understaffed. Got to the point where my husband went to the bar to ask if we should order food there. At the same time the person who ended up being our server was headed over and what a look she gave to my husband for enquiring. If we weren't sat there for a while we wouldn't have had to ask. She had some snark to her the whole time, when we actually saw her. Took our food orders and disappeared. When the pizza came, delivered by the host, I asked for a second glass of wine. By the time I was done eating, it was still sat on top of the bar waiting to be picked up. Eventually the server came back and said oh you're waiting for another glass of wine? If you knew this why didn't you get it and bring it over? I said no as was done eating. When she brought the check over at least she then removed the second wine. We really enjoyed this place but the attitudes have gotten out of hand. Better service at other places in town. read more

Wow. This place was insanely good. Need to make a reservation in advance and may only get a really early or really late seating but so worth it. I got several appetizer small plates as my meal because I wanted to try everything! They were able to make almost everything gluten and dairy free. The most insane part was the dessert. It's really rare for me to be able to order dessert with my gluten and dairy allergy. I got this grahm cracker marshmallow tarte with currant sorbet and it was so delicious. The pastry chef is apparently gluten free and vegan and the staff has different dietary restrictions so they make it a point to accommodate everyone. The people were also the nicest. My husband and I were already excited to come here for lunch but our entire experience still blew us away! Our server Dan was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and had great drink recommendations for my wine loving husband. All of our food was fantastic. We both think this is the best pizza we've had outside of Italy. The focaccia was easily the best we've ever had. The crab toast really surprised me with its flavors and my husband had half and he doesn't even like crab! This morning my husband went to the cafe and got us amazing lattes with local milk and fresh croissants which were everything that a croissant should be. A wonderful experience in a beautiful space, with delicious food; pizza, pastries... and great service! Will be back as often as we can

Went here tonight for an early dinner with my family for the first time. My kids are 3 and 9 and they loved it, they got special drinks. The adults got special drinks too! My husband's Bend and Snap was sweet and grassy in the most perfect way. I enjoyed my pale ale even though I typically prefer other varieties of beer (I'm waiting for the IPA craze to subside...). We got a mushroom and something else pizza which was delicious, and the pork lasagna, perfect on a rainy evening. Also got some oysters to start, so fresh and soft. I could have eaten 25. I'm excited to have found a place to eat out in our area of limited options, that is actually worth the money. Can't wait to bring out of town family over the summer. read more

I would have even ordered two if my partner didn't order a different dish. The mains were good as well we especially liked the duck. We have loved the Crooked Ram for years now. It has been one of our go-to spots in all seasons to grab a drink after an activity around Manchester. The back patio has a great vibe. My main issue is the price of food and drinks, which is why I rated 4 instead of 5 stars. I think the cost is a bit outrageous. I have frequented many pricey establishments and I still think charging $9 for one beer is excessive. This is also why we have yet to try their food. I think they can still be a locally sourced, high-end establishment and have somewhat reasonable prices. read more

We tried to place a to go order, but they don't answer their phones. They had a voicemail on for FAQ's so it seems not answering is intentional, but they never once mentioned anything about not taking to go orders. There was an online ordering option on their website, but it was just for merchandise and pastries. I went to the FAQ's on the website, again, nothing stating they didn't take to go orders. So we drove over there, fought for parking, walked in, entrance is extremely confusing, no host or servers to greet you and finally found an employee at the bar and she said they don't take to go orders. Trying too hard to be hip but don't know how to be a good restaurant. The food is interesting and different but lacked taste. I found their croissants to be over baked and dry. They offer a small menu that does not change often. The ambiance is okay. You get to watch a lot of servers standing around talking to each other or to the cook instead of attending to the customers. We've been there 3 times and I won't rush back. I'm not sure any of the staff knows what they should do. Saw one person clearing tables, wiping table and serving food. The chairs were never wiped and he spraying the disinfectant onto the table and not the cloth. I don't want to smell or feel that spray while I'm eating. The breads, toast & croissants create a lot of crumbs. So please check the chairs. Our food was not hot. I had to ask to have the muffin warmed. I should have been asked if I wanted it warm when I ordered it. The sausage, which we had to remind them that we had ordered was not hot. Barely warm. My cappuccino was served without a spoon or sugar. I was told they had no white sugar. There was also no salt or pepper on the table. I hesitated to order another coffee for fear of how long it would take. Yep, you guessed it. It took forever. I was offered cream and I said yes. What I was given, I'm pretty sure was milk. I could tell by the color. So if you're good with asking for everything you may need for your meal, I guess this is the place for you. read more

Alex, Colton, and the entire team are so welcoming and genuine. We love coming in for a glass of wine, beer, or a bottle to go. The food fare is a little lighter these days while they finish their new space, so we didn't grab dinner. Nevin always whips up fresh vegan fare when we do eat in. This trip we sat outside and enjoyed a glass of orange wine and a local IPA while the sun went down. The place was packed, but guests were able to spread out. I had driven by The Crooked Ram when I was staying in Manchester on business, and when my husband and I came up, and were looking for a light lunch, we decided it would be the perfect spot. From the minute we walked through the doors, we were obsessed with The Crooked Ram. The decor is simple, but still chic, and one side of the place is the taps/small bites/beer and wine for sale, and the other side is a whole seating area, with small/larger group tables. The staff was warm and welcoming from the second we walked through the door, inviting us to try different beers (you can sample up to three prior to deciding on a glass), and walking us through the different cheeses available. They also have wines available as well, so they really try to accommodate everyone. My husband and I both settled on the first beers we tried - I had a Blood Orange sour beer, and my husband had an Oktoberfest. We also got a cheese plate, which was beautifully presented and featured 3 different cheeses with accompaniments, and then each also got a half sandwich (the meat one for him, the cheese and apple for me). The sandwiches were open faced on a baguette, and it was really just the perfect light meal, with delicious beer in an awesome spot. We left after buying a specialty Allagash beer bottle to take home, and know this will not be our last stop to The Crooked Ram. It's a fantastic concept, well executed, and just an all around great spot to stop in and enjoy some beers and snacks. read more

An absolutely wonderful experience! Decided to take a day trip to Vermont and my friend wanted to go to a a brewery and this was our first stop! The location was idyllic it had just snowed so there was light snow on the grounds. The owners were friendly and fun they gave us suggestions on the beers and wines. I got a glass of Italian wine Castelfeder Lahn Kerner 2015. It was delicious The Kerner grape is bred by crossing Riesling and Trollinger (Schiava Grossa). It was an excellent recommendation. I also ordered the Chimi Brisket which was delicious - shaved brisket, chimichurri , pickled red onion.... There was so much flavor and I wasn't expecting it. If I'm back in the area I will definitely stop in! The decor seem so fitting for the spot! It was cozy, warm and minimalist. read more

We LOVED the outside venue and can not wait to be back next summer. Hoping if we make it up for the winter, we can try the regular restaurant. We went one night and were able to another reservation for the night before we left, we loved the place and food so much. We stayed across the street and came here for happy hour- what a busy place! We were lucky to snag indoor seats, but it's first come first serve. The wine and beer selection is TOP NOTCH. The beer was amazing, service great, and the food.. OMG! I got the ram dumplings and the prosciutto sandwich which was a fancy BLT but better. The ram dumplings were so tasty, neither plate was like anything I've had before. The inside was super cute and everything was clean, everyone was masked up (COVID) and it felt safe.
