Always love Shiki! We grabbed 4 rolls w some Kani and Ebi along with a bottle of sake. We sat at the bar top and the bartender was amazing! We went kinda early so it wasnt super busy. Love the hibachi there as well

Went to Shiki to celebrate a birthday and made reservations. Our party arrived right in time with a little wait as they cleared a grill area for us. Note that they won't seat your party until your entire party shows up. As we sat down, the grill area sat all 11 of us where everyone could see the cooking. We picked Shiki because we were looking for a hibachi option with a show. I ended up ordering the steak and chicken hibachi option with fried rice. The meal comes with soup, ginger salad, the choice meats, veggies, shrimp appetizer and sautéed bean sprouts. When the chef came out to cook, he was just okay when it came to the hibachi grilling show - which was actually important for us when choosing a restaurant. He didn't really give much of a show nor did he interact with the table. It was very minimal at best. The food portions were great. Ended up having enough to have for dinner the next night. The flavors were overall good, the salad though was very strong in a horseradish or onion flavor that was very off putting by a lot of us at the table. But the grilled foods were decent. Overall food was good, but if you're looking for a show, hope that you get another chef!

The Sushi was absolutely phenomenal! It went down hill from there. The Waitress was very pushy and rude. And there were constant flies flying around my food. I couldn't even eat all of my chicken Teriyaki because it was so nasty. I hate giving bad reviews but this was wayyyy too expensive for what I ate and the quality of service I received. The Sushi Chef was fairly nice but also distant and pushy.

There were six of us tonight and decided to eat teppanyaki tonight. There is plenty of parking outside so no problem there and since it was 5:30pm on a Wednesday not too busy yet. Everyone ordered a variety of food from shrimp, scallops, steak, chicken and my salmon to top it off. I myself am not a big fan of the tricks with the cooking utensils and eggs being tossed into the air, but this place serves you large portions of food for a reasonable price. They also did a good job of keeping my water glass full so definitely no complaints there. I do recommend if you are hungry for teppanyaki and don't mind a little showmanship.

The hibachi was okay - I've had better. My best friend loved her sushi. Pretty average place. The hostess seemed a little perturbed that people would dare to show up. It showed, she was on her phone 90% of the time we were there. Our waitress was great! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and kept our drinks full. The vibe was kinda weird - country music, really? I got the steak hibachi with fried rice. The steak was a bit chewy, but ok. I got it ordered from the kitchen since we weren't sitting at the grill. I don't know if I'd ever recommend this place, but it's not bad.

Wow! Some of the best sushi I have had in quite some time. The staff was super friendly and treated us like family. The food was simply amazing. For sushi in a land locked state there is no comparison. I've had sushi from different places along the coast which offers some of the freshest sushi you can get, this place can beat them. Do your tastebuds a favor and get some sushi here. It truly is some of the best around.

My extended family went to Shiki for a birthday. We had 24 people, so we were seated at three different tables at three different grills. It took a while to get service. The biggest issue was the fact that the food was cooked and served at three different times. We later were informed they were a little understaffed today as all the chefs were on vacation. By the time the first table had finished their food, the third table was still waiting for their chef to turn on the grill. The salad's flavor was fine, but it was drowned in dressing. I couldn't eat the last of it because it was way too salty swimming in the the excess dressing. My mother ordered sushi and it was strangely warm. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be served like that, but it wasn't just room temperature, it was warm which was slightly off putting. The NY Steak was tasty but a tad overdone. My dad was smart and ordered it rare when he usually orders medium rare so his steak was cooked to his satisfaction. My uncle ordered the filet and he said it was really tough. He initially thought that it was the NY steak instead of filet because of how tough it was. The fried rice was really good, and I really enjoyed the mushrooms and bean sprouts. Very yummy. The hibachi prices were a little high, but it may be fair for the giant portions they give you. I really liked the chopsticks. They split very nicely. Overall, it was an okay experience. I think you're paying more for the spectacle of your hibachi chef's knife tricks than you are for the food, but it was a nice dinner.

To share we got the crunchy rice tuna and the blossom roll with a mix of the fish options (like a rainbow roll). The crunchy rice tuna has such a nice combination of textures with a little crunch from the rice and creaminess from the avocado and fish. The roll was delicious. Fresh fish, the rice in the roll was just as it should be-not too mushy (a problem I find with a lot of sushi places I've tried in Oklahoma) or too firm. For myself I got the sashimi tasting which was an absolutely delicious assortment of seafood. All of the pieces were well seasoned and tasted fresh. My husband got the fried chicken and sukiyaki. He was very pleased with both. As a bonus I got a cheesecake because we were celebrating my birthday and they gave us each a shot. I appreciate that they gave me a non-alcoholic shot since I don't drink alcohol. Overall the food was fantastic and the service was great but it comes with a corresponding price tag. Was it worth it? In my opinion, yes, most definitely. I will say though that if you don't care for seafood there are options for you, but you likely won't appreciate this place nearly as much as someone who does.

One of our friends ordered the sushi set as his entree, which comes with 5 pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll. He only got the nigiri (salmon, regular tuna, mackerel, and 2 tamago nigiri). When we brought it to one of the servers attention, she told us it was an either/or option. After talking with other friends, they told us they received both, and the nigiri was higher quality, like toro. Three of our friends ordered the pork katsu. One of the katsus was brought out early and the other two took some time. After the other two katsus came out, it was noticeable that the first one was probably refried, which made us think it was old and they didn't want to waste it. We also learned that our other friends said that when they went, the server told them that if there was anything they liked, they could ask for more to be brought to the table. Our server did not tell us this. And the sad part is that they actually took some dishes away from the buffet and didn't refill it, which was the salmon sashimi. Overall, I feel like the experience was disappointing and the advertising was misleading. There wasn't much fresh fish available, as one might think. Sounds like service isn't equal and great across the board. Some friends enjoyed the weekend lunch buffet, some other friends had the same experience we did.

Having been to Tokyo and and everyone LOVING Japanese culture in my family, we immediately felt like we were in Shinjuku/central Tokyo. The smell of an Izakaya (grilled meat and veggies), cozy atmosphere, music, authentic beer/drink offerings--all added to this perfect nostalgia for us. This was before I had even taken a bite! Secondly, I had excellent and attentive service. Did not catch the young person's name who waited on us, as I was focused on celebrating with my kiddo (just did a big violin audition), but they did a wonderful job and we wanted for nothing. Let's get to the food already! - Gyoza--crispy and savory, so they were perfect. The sauce, I loved as it was custom blended instead of the sweet, gooey gravy folks give you at other places. Very fresh, very hot. - Enoki Chips - crispy, light and airy fried, thin mushrooms. Tiny bit of chili spice, some green onions, and lemon. I recommend dipping in gyoza sauce or getting extra green onion or both. - Garlic Tonkatsu - yes, I love this basic ramen! However, NAZO doesn't do it "basic" every aspect is flavorful and generous. Garlic, sweet/smokey char siu pork, greens, onion, bamboo, egg, some cool cracker/noodle thing that tasted nice, seaweed-- we were so full! Had to take half home! However, it didn't stop us from.... - NY Cheesecake! Yes, the authentic kind. It was very good with whipped cream and chocolate on top (I'm normally a purist, this was very good though). Cheesecake was a tiny icy as it was probably frozen ( their specialty is tempura cheesecake, so freezing before frying is a must). This didn't make us like it any less. We still ate 75% even in a severe fullness state from eating everything else. Oh, and beer Echiban (love this Japanese beer company) it was their blue can, lager/IPA style. Not too hoppy though. I prefer the red can of Echiban, like a red lager. They also have cocktails, wine, and soju (sochu)--don't know which is Japanese and which is the Korean version. So, if you like that sweet, alcoholic stuff, they have that too. Of course, they have a comprehensive saki list. I was sticking to beer this time, I'll try some next time and report back. Overall, a very nice, tasty Japanese restaurant that offers a variety of options (ramen, steamed buns, rice dishes, sushi, I'm sure they can make some Izakaya grilled meats b/c they mentioned some Wagyu appetizer). Date night, hangs with friends/family--it's about perfect! Keep it up, and much success to you on opening this new spot in central OKC/midtown adjacent (it's right next to RJ's Bar)!

They had fun, enjoyed the show, and left happy... and honestly, that's what mattered most. That said, as someone who has been to many hibachi restaurants over the years, this experience was a bit of a mixed grill. We made reservations (which ended up not being necessary since lunch was not busy--definitely a plus) and were seated quickly at the grill. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal, keeping drinks refilled and checking in regularly. Appetizers ordered: Edamame, Calamari, Takoyaki, and Tobiko sushi. * The edamame was spot on. * The takoyaki (fried octopus balls with sauce, mayo, and bonito flakes) was a pleasant surprise and very good. * The calamari came out greasy and overcooked, though the flavor itself was decent. * The Tobiko sushi? Let's just say the crunchy, salty pop of flying fish roe wasn't a hit with anyone except me. Everything arrived piping hot, which is good--but definitely required caution when eating. For soup and salad, everyone chose the soup while I went with the salad. The salad was underwhelming--just iceberg lettuce and dressing. I sampled the soup and found it hot, but the flavor seemed off and not to my liking. The biggest issue was timing. Despite being the only hibachi group seated, there was a long delay--well over 15 minutes--between appetizers and the chef arriving at the grill. Thankfully, we had plenty of appetizers to bridge the gap. When the chef did arrive, the presentation was fun and energetic. Our grandsons loved it, and that's the key takeaway. While the performance didn't wow me personally, the kids were fully entertained, and all entrées were cooked to everyone's liking. One small disappointment: most hibachi places do something special for birthday guests, but there was no acknowledgment here. Not a deal-breaker--especially with Pie Junkie just up the street--but worth mentioning. A few final notes: * Salt & pepper shakers and soy sauce bottles appeared sticky, as if not wiped down between seatings. * My wife mentioned the restroom was not clean--the floor felt sticky, and it was a shared restroom for men and women, which could use more attention. Bottom line: This was a mixed experience--some good, some not so good. Personally, I wouldn't return, having experienced stronger hibachi restaurants elsewhere. However, our grandson left smiling, and we were able to give them the birthday experience they wanted--and that made it worthwhile. Three stars feels fair.
