Went to eat with the family for my nephews birthday. At first service was great, then the cook showed up. You could tell it wasn't a good day for him or us for that matter. He overcooked everything , not just one person 5 . I guess 5 out of 8 isn't bad, is it? When told the cook that the Calamari was overcooked, told him I would rather just have shrimp. He looked at me and said" Too Late". That was it, cleaned thegrill and left. Won't go back

We come here about once or twice a year and it's always good! There's only been ONE time out of many, where the food wasn't as good. The service is good, they're on top of refilling drinks and taking away dirty plates! Wish they would give those poor koi fish in the front a bigger pond...but other than that this is my go to hibachi spot. The sushi is also pretty delicious! I was disappointed to see bad reviews, our experience has always been great. Restaurant is always clean as well as the restrooms.

Always love Shiki! We grabbed 4 rolls w some Kani and Ebi along with a bottle of sake. We sat at the bar top and the bartender was amazing! We went kinda early so it wasnt super busy. Love the hibachi there as well

Went to Shiki to celebrate a birthday and made reservations. Our party arrived right in time with a little wait as they cleared a grill area for us. Note that they won't seat your party until your entire party shows up. As we sat down, the grill area sat all 11 of us where everyone could see the cooking. We picked Shiki because we were looking for a hibachi option with a show. I ended up ordering the steak and chicken hibachi option with fried rice. The meal comes with soup, ginger salad, the choice meats, veggies, shrimp appetizer and sautéed bean sprouts. When the chef came out to cook, he was just okay when it came to the hibachi grilling show - which was actually important for us when choosing a restaurant. He didn't really give much of a show nor did he interact with the table. It was very minimal at best. The food portions were great. Ended up having enough to have for dinner the next night. The flavors were overall good, the salad though was very strong in a horseradish or onion flavor that was very off putting by a lot of us at the table. But the grilled foods were decent. Overall food was good, but if you're looking for a show, hope that you get another chef!

The Sushi was absolutely phenomenal! It went down hill from there. The Waitress was very pushy and rude. And there were constant flies flying around my food. I couldn't even eat all of my chicken Teriyaki because it was so nasty. I hate giving bad reviews but this was wayyyy too expensive for what I ate and the quality of service I received. The Sushi Chef was fairly nice but also distant and pushy.

There were six of us tonight and decided to eat teppanyaki tonight. There is plenty of parking outside so no problem there and since it was 5:30pm on a Wednesday not too busy yet. Everyone ordered a variety of food from shrimp, scallops, steak, chicken and my salmon to top it off. I myself am not a big fan of the tricks with the cooking utensils and eggs being tossed into the air, but this place serves you large portions of food for a reasonable price. They also did a good job of keeping my water glass full so definitely no complaints there. I do recommend if you are hungry for teppanyaki and don't mind a little showmanship.

To share we got the crunchy rice tuna and the blossom roll with a mix of the fish options (like a rainbow roll). The crunchy rice tuna has such a nice combination of textures with a little crunch from the rice and creaminess from the avocado and fish. The roll was delicious. Fresh fish, the rice in the roll was just as it should be-not too mushy (a problem I find with a lot of sushi places I've tried in Oklahoma) or too firm. For myself I got the sashimi tasting which was an absolutely delicious assortment of seafood. All of the pieces were well seasoned and tasted fresh. My husband got the fried chicken and sukiyaki. He was very pleased with both. As a bonus I got a cheesecake because we were celebrating my birthday and they gave us each a shot. I appreciate that they gave me a non-alcoholic shot since I don't drink alcohol. Overall the food was fantastic and the service was great but it comes with a corresponding price tag. Was it worth it? In my opinion, yes, most definitely. I will say though that if you don't care for seafood there are options for you, but you likely won't appreciate this place nearly as much as someone who does.

One of our friends ordered the sushi set as his entree, which comes with 5 pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll. He only got the nigiri (salmon, regular tuna, mackerel, and 2 tamago nigiri). When we brought it to one of the servers attention, she told us it was an either/or option. After talking with other friends, they told us they received both, and the nigiri was higher quality, like toro. Three of our friends ordered the pork katsu. One of the katsus was brought out early and the other two took some time. After the other two katsus came out, it was noticeable that the first one was probably refried, which made us think it was old and they didn't want to waste it. We also learned that our other friends said that when they went, the server told them that if there was anything they liked, they could ask for more to be brought to the table. Our server did not tell us this. And the sad part is that they actually took some dishes away from the buffet and didn't refill it, which was the salmon sashimi. Overall, I feel like the experience was disappointing and the advertising was misleading. There wasn't much fresh fish available, as one might think. Sounds like service isn't equal and great across the board. Some friends enjoyed the weekend lunch buffet, some other friends had the same experience we did.

What really sets Ichiban apart, though, is the customer service. One time, I went in to pick up my order and the employee asked if I wanted to redeem one of my punch cards for a free bowl. I had completely forgotten I even had them! It turned out I had two full cards, and without me even asking, they let me redeem both and gave me two free bowls. Another time, our daughter puked all over the table out of nowhere. The server was so sweet and kind. She tried to clean it but there was no way we were going to let her do that. She brought us every thing we asked for and we cleaned it up. She even brought our daughter something to settle her tummy. Today, I accidentally placed my online order at the wrong location. I called as soon as I realized my mistake, and the employee immediately offered to contact the correct location for me. He took care of everything and told me my order would be ready in about ten minutes. Mind-you, these things happened at three different locations. This is one of those rare restaurants where you truly don't mind waiting if they're busy because you know the food and the service are always worth it. Ichiban has earned loyal customers in our family, and we'll continue recommending them to everyone we know!

The fish is extraordinarily fresh, the rolls are immaculately crafted, the apps are high-effort. If consistency remains the same, this may be my new fav spot. We started with gyoza and soup dumplings (called buns on the menu). Both were phenomenal. The gyoza was steamed and panfried, which is the best way to do it imo. Many places are lazy and just deep fry cheap gyoza. This place does it right. We ordered the Out of Control Roll, Tiger Roll, Fire Work Roll, and Nazo Famous Roll. They were all beautifully presented and delicious. We also ordered a massive amount of nigiri. We were so impressed we put in a second order so were probably there for 90 mins. We finished with a Tiramisu which was very moist and seemed homemade. My only criticism is the menu is slightly limited. I don't want them to have a giant menu and suffer in consistency like some places, but they should have a bit more of the basics like a house salad, for example. All in all, very impressed with this new spot. It reminded me of my childhood and measures up to some of the best sushi places I've ever been to. It has that hole in the wall vibe, without the hole in the wall grime.

She apologized for the fly and I told her that I understand that things happen sometimes. She proceeded to tell me that employees are instructed to strain the soy sauce prior to pouring it into the individual containers on the table. She walked off before I could fully consider that she meant strain for bugs or wonder why the soy sauce would need to be strained if it was fresh or sealed. No mention was made of giving me any kind of discount or replacing the piece of sushi that I lost to the fly incident.
