I was recommended Shiki by a coworker and it's right next to one of my favorite places (Trappers) but the only real good to come out of the visit was quelling curiosity. When we arrived it was pretty empty. We came for Hibachi and had to wait a couple mins for our seating to be set up for a party of 2. Upon seating we noticed the sealant around the grill was in terrible shape, there were still crumbs on the grill corners, as well as general grime on the windows and the floor was in poor condition. My menu looked like it was discolored even before being laminated. We were sat at the furthest end and the position I was in had the overhead light blaring uncomfortably into my eyes. I could also feel the heat from the bulb and I wondered why I couldn't feel any A/C- then noticed they have the kind of indoor units you see in a hotel or cheap apartment complex. I moved to the opposite side of my guy. The waitress was nice but when I traded seats she told me that I would have to inform the chef that I moved because she already took my order. My guy found it strange that she couldn't just inform the chef herself since it wasn't busy.. When the chef came out one of his starter tricks was to create a big flame on the grill for shock and awe and it definitely made me nervous because I've been to Hibachi before and the grills here are too small and we are positioned too close for that large of a flame to be attractive and feel safe. The chef had charisma but messed up in the "volcano" trick and my bf who is a line cook also got nervous that the fire unexpectedly fell his way. We were vibing with the show even though a couple other tricks didn't work out. I wish I liked the soup more but found it a bit oily. My guy enjoyed the salad dressing but got a lettuce heart in his salad. Upon getting my refill black debris ended up in my cup. When I pointed that out the server promptly replaced it though. We were enjoying the food overall until I received my salmon entree. I could tell it wasn't seared enough so I asked for it to have more time before the chef passed it off to me as the last item off the grill. But even with the extra time 3/4 of it was still raw. And If I'm gonna eat raw salmon it's going to be in sushi not hibachi so I let the server know. The kitchen manager came right away and after a while I got a crispy portion. I appreciate them making it right! I would have given 3 stars for the effort but we both got minor food poisoning from our visit that night so unfortunately we will not be returning. read more

Nice Japanese restaurant with pretty good tempura udon and sushi - they also have hibachi available. Their yakitori could maybe be made more authentic but it's alright. Went to eat with the family for my nephews birthday. At first service was great, then the cook showed up. You could tell it wasn't a good day for him or us for that matter. He overcooked everything , not just one person 5 . I guess 5 out of 8 isn't bad, is it? When told the cook that the Calamari was overcooked, told him I would rather just have shrimp. There was fried rice with 3-4 green peas and a few bits of carrots (a few) in it for 8 ppl. He cracked 4-5 eggs in the rice for 8 ppl. I did not get one pea or carrot. Not (1). The steak was Tuff, hard to chew. Worse's cut of steak I've ever tried to eat. Did not get to eat it because it was tuff. Shrimp was good. Celebrated my nieces 22nd birthday, this was her choice of restaurants. I spent $50.00 for myself, no soft drink just ordered extra rice thinking my husband would eat the steak when i got home. Nope we threw it out because it was too tuff for him to. They did not have one small spoon for a child to eat with. Do they handed them a Tea stirring spoon for a 3 yr old. U can get small spoons at Dollar tree 3 for $1.25. There were other small children in the bldg not just ours. The staff all acted irritated for sm reason. Maybe cause they had to cm to work late evening. We will Go to the south side or Edmond next time. My food was right at $30 I ordered extra rice and then it was $44. We come here about once or twice a year and it's always good! There's only been ONE time out of many, where the food wasn't as good. The service is good, they're on top of refilling drinks and taking away dirty plates! Wish they would give those poor koi fish in the front a bigger pond...but other than that this is my go to hibachi spot. The sushi is also pretty delicious! I asked as i do when I sit down at every sushi bar, if they had anything not on the menu or special and the older woma, in the plum blouse, behind the sushi bar snickered at me repeating "special" while condescendingly chuckling as if I made a joke. The food experience itself was awful when it came to what they DID have. Poor fish cutting along with a sashimi salmon that was obviously old and near inedible. The service was the only good thing about the place. Can't and won't speak to the hibachi or teppen they offer as I won't be back. Do not recommend. Went to Shiki to celebrate a birthday and made reservations. Our party arrived right in time with a little wait as they cleared a grill area for us. Note that they won't seat your party until your entire party shows up. As we sat down, the grill area sat all 11 of us where everyone could see the cooking. We picked Shiki because we were looking for a hibachi option with a show. I ended up ordering the steak and chicken hibachi option with fried rice. The meal comes with soup, ginger salad, the choice meats, veggies, shrimp appetizer and sautéed bean sprouts. When the chef came out to cook, he was just okay when it came to the hibachi grilling show - which was actually important for us when choosing a restaurant. He didn't really give much of a show nor did he interact with the table. It was very minimal at best. The food portions were great. Ended up having enough to have for dinner the next night. The flavors were overall good, the salad though was very strong in a horseradish or onion flavor that was very off putting by a lot of us at the table. But the grilled foods were decent. Overall food was good, but if you're looking for a show, hope that you get another chef! read more

I was looking forward to eating a lot of sushi as I was starving and saw past reviews saying the sushi is great. I was very disappointed with the result. Sushi was probably the worst I have ever had. Grocery store sushi is better and cheaper! I ordered multiple rolls because of my appetite but quickly lost it after a few pieces. After sending back the sushi, I was questioned/interrogated by the manager saying it was my "palate" and was charged for the full meal. Lots of homeless right outside of the restaurant area as well. This experience ruined my whole day and I will not be returning and recommend others do the same. read more

BEWARE!! We used to visit Shiki frequently until our last visit when they doubled the charge on our receipt. If I hadn't checked my bank statement, I would never have known. Despite calling them, they have not responded or resolved the issue. We know exactly what we ordered and what the total should have been. This was such a fun experience. We had never been to a hibachi grill before. This is good place to take the whole family. My 8year old and 4 year old were amused. The food was very good too. But it was a on the high side. We ordered 2 of the habachi meals(1shrimp, 1 chicken), small order if California rolls and we split it between 2 adults and 2 kids. I ordered here 4/22, when I arrived in town after finding them on Yelp. I ordered hibachi to-go and it was pretty good! I didn't get utensils, soup or salad. I was not motivated to leave a review though. It's close to my hotel, so I ordered here again tonight, 4/25. The lady that answered the phone to take my order was incredibly friendly! I was impressed. When I got there, I met her. She continued to impress - super friendly and accommodating, offered me a seat while I waited for her to fix my drinks, and couldn't have been more cheerful or polite. She motivated me to leave a review. This restaurant did themselves a solid by hiring her, and your day is bound to be brighter if you visit while she is working. She let me know that hibachi comes with soup and salad. I was happy to hear that! She prepared my sauces with a couple Andes mints. I got utensils, ample napkins. Top notch! There were six of us tonight and decided to eat teppanyaki tonight. There is plenty of parking outside so no problem there and since it was 5:30pm on a Wednesday not too busy yet. Everyone ordered a variety of food from shrimp, scallops, steak, chicken and my salmon to top it off. The hibachi was okay - I've had better. My best friend loved her sushi. Pretty average place. The hostess seemed a little perturbed that people would dare to show up. It showed, she was on her phone 90% of the time we were there. Our waitress was great! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and kept our drinks full. The vibe was kinda weird - country music, really? I got the steak hibachi with fried rice. The steak was a bit chewy, but ok. I got it ordered from the kitchen since we weren't sitting at the grill. Absolutely the most tender filet I've ever been served. Unfortunately that is because the rot had set in enough to break down the fibers of the beef. Not sure how long that takes but I'd guess it didn't happen on the short ride from the kitchen to the table. Four or the nine at our table had ordered the filet so the area had quite the stench once he finished cooking and the fan was turned off. Inexcusable for this to not have been noticed by anyone in the kitchen while prepping. While they did comp the filet orders, no manager even made an appearance at the table. Several at the table stopped eating so as to not vomit so the meal as a whole was a loss. They forgot dads scallops and by the time they brought them out the smell had ruined it for him as well. My extended family went to Shiki for a birthday. We had 24 people, so we were seated at three different tables at three different grills. It took a while to get service. The biggest issue was the fact that the food was cooked and served at three different times. We later were informed they were a little understaffed today as all the chefs were on vacation. By the time the first table had finished their food, the third table was still waiting for their chef to turn on the grill. The salad's flavor was fine, but it was drowned in dressing. I couldn't eat the last of it because it was way too salty swimming in the the excess dressing. My mother ordered sushi and it was strangely warm. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be served like that, but it wasn't just room temperature, it was warm which was slightly off putting. The NY Steak was tasty but a tad overdone. My dad was smart and ordered it rare when he usually orders medium rare so his steak was cooked to his satisfaction. My uncle ordered the filet and he said it was really tough. He initially thought that it was the NY steak instead of filet because of how tough it was. The fried rice was really good, and I really enjoyed the mushrooms and bean sprouts. Very yummy. The hibachi prices were a little high, but it may be fair for the giant portions they give you. I really liked the chopsticks. They split very nicely. Overall, it was an okay experience. I think you're paying more for the spectacle of your hibachi chef's knife tricks than you are for the food, but it was a nice dinner. read more

We were on a limited time schedule and I had arrived early to place our order to avoid this. There was no apology and no one spoke to us. After meals were both delivered no one came and asked us how it was, or if we needed anything. I will not be back nor recommend. So I left no tip and another note on the receipt saying sorry didn't order a salad so hopefully that salad was worth the tip. Sushi in Oklahoma.... Not half bad! I came here for lunch because my co-worker swears this is the best place to go. I have to agree with her slightly. I came at the wrong time, one hour before closing time (lunch time that is). I ordered some sweet shrimp and it was mouth watering (see picture) but a little on the warm side. I normally like my raw fish to be a little more cold. The sushi rolls however were a hit. I wish I ordered more, but I was far to broke to spoil myself this time around. I'd like to try this place for dinner because the sushi chef who owns the join (I think?) hails from San Diego and will make you special rolls depending on what you like in them. Love the food always take home leftovers the miso soup is amazing and my daughter loves the NY steak hibachi my family enjoys eating here the service is great my youngest daughter loves to watch the chefs cook she also loves the onion volcano the chefs seem to always play with her but she enjoys it when we normally go here they always come to our table within 1-2min we normally get a hibachi table because my kids enjoy watching the chefs cook I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old so definitely recommend for families with no fish allergies or anything like that read more
