We stayed in room 112 on 10/9/2024 - $98.60/night. It was a non-smoking property but our room reeked because it was next to the smoking patio and the A/C pulled the stank right in. It was a big room with a kitchen sink, dining table, sofa, fridge, microwave and coffee, FireTV and good WiFi. The property had on-site laundry, convenience store. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower was hot and the tub drained well, but the shower head sprayed erratically. The bathroom stunk like there was urine on the floor in front of the toilet. The room's floor was dirty - I had my partner take a picture of my feet in the shower the morning we checked out, and when I notified the front desk of the dirty floor issue, the clerk's interest was negligible. After I booked my room they sent me an email that the pool was not open. Then a second email to say they don't include breakfast anymore. (Why weren't these things mentioned up front ?) The rate was $50 less that night then when I booked it and they wouldn't match it or refund me. The room was dated, dull and looked worn. Would not recommend. read more

Overall this was a good place to stay. It's old but clean. Be aware that there are not elevators, so if you have mobility issues you will want to specify a first-floor room when you make the reservation. Staff was friendly. Older reviewers may be happy to know there are key-cards now and the electronics worked just fine. There was an easy-to-access electrical outlet on both sides of the bed. No usb so bring your adapter if that's an issue. Air conditioning worked well (if a bit noisy), and I appreciated the option to have foam pillows in the room (I assume instead of feather?). I thought the bed was very comfortable, although my husband disagreed and said it was too firm. The sink water was drinkable and shower had excellent water pressure. AMENITIES: There is a grassy area outside for dogs. I did not find any outdoor benches or tables, which would be really nice for sitting outdoors and reading or eating. There are a couple of comfy-looking chairs in a hallway area but no lights there. (I'm always on the lookout for good reading spots). There is a small fitness room and the pool is indoors (both open when I visited). There is signage upon entering the lobby that they are not currently doing any of the housekeeping stuff for stay-overs (making the bed, replacing towels, etc) because of the American Hotel Association (I think?) recommendations, but that they have new linens to bring to the room if you want to change them out. FOOD: The "grab-and-go" breakfast is extremely limited (currently juice/apples/bananas/pre-packaged muffins) and I'd recommend heading to one of the coffee carts down the street for a bagel instead. The connected restaurant is closed long-term until they have someone new to lease it, so the only food on-site is at the little mini-mart. The freezers in the room are very tiny and I don't think it would fit a Tillamook ice cream pint (we didn't try just in case it wouldn't fit) but there is definitely space for some Snickers ice cream bars. Yes, those are the important things while on vacation in Tillamook. LOCATION: This is right across from a Fred Meyer's (large grocery store), close to several coffee spots and restaurants, and just down the street from the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Blue Heron French Cheese Company (with wine-tasting). It's easy to get to and has a gas station right in front to get you ready for more adventures. read more

From the reviews my husband and I are blessed we only stayed one night. I told my husband I bet we got a good room. We was at the end of the hallway by the stairs. I can tell the couch in our room was new. The room was very large. The hotel towels need to be replaced. They did not have enough towels and the shower towels were not large enough. Someone had a dog that barked most of the morning. Guest with pets and guest without pets should ALWAYS Have separate rooms! Our room was clean as well! read more

The lobby is old and rundown. The one person working was unhelpful. I canceled and went across street to Ashley inn which is so much better. I don't understand how some web sites call the tillamook inn one if the top places to stay. Stay away would be more appropriate. read more

One word describes my experience......HORRIBLE! I reserved 1 king room and 1 double queen room 1 1/2 months prior to when our stay was going to be. I received a confirmation via email that showed my quoted price and the dates of my reservation. When I made my reservation I told the lady at the desk that we would be arriving late due to going to the rodeo first. Upon arrival at 11:30 P.M. we were told that they couldn't find my reservation at all. When I pulled it up, I was then told that they had my reservation for the 1 king bed but not the double queen. Then I was told they had the double queen for 2 nights starting Saturday, not Friday. After quite a bit of arguing and fuming I was told that because they were sold out they could possibly put us in a decommissioned room. We were told to leave and come back. When we came back we were basically put in a storage room. They had no extra blankets for my daughter to sleep on the couch. The next day we had to check out and check back in to different rooms. I was quoted $150 a night and was charged $195 and $215 a night. I argued that I was not going to pay for sleeping in a storage room. Finally they said they would comp both rooms both nights. It's been a few days and I still haven't seen the credit, so I will be calling my credit card company and telling them that I reject all of their charges. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more

Positives: The maintence staff was friendly. Selection of muffins, cookies, juice, and apples/oranges for a grab and go breakfast. Negatives: This location has been bought by another company and do not accept Shilo Inn gift certificates anymore. However, this is not stated on the website. So when we arrived for check in we were not able to use the certificate. The hot tub and sauna no longer work and the pool area drips from the ceiling and all fixtures are rusty. There were also many broken tiles. We did not feel like this was a safe environment for our family to be in. The room had a very musty smell, but there were many smoking locations outside the window so we were unable to open the windows to air it out. read more

Where do I start? When I checked in, I was told that all doors are locked at 9:30pm... and that if you leave after 9:30pm... you will be locked out and would not be let back into the motel until 10am the next day. This sent me into an absolute panic... because life happens sometimes. Than when I get to the room... I find mildew in the shower along with hair, cracks in the walls, smelly and gross stains on the furniture... I'm almost positive the couch had bodily fluid from a guy, dirty and outdated appliances, the shades behind the curtains looked like they had been ripped out... so you only had the room darkening shades. It felt so gross I checked for bed bugs... thankfully there were none of those. All in all... I'll never stay here again. I will never EVER recommend this motel. You can get much better rooms for the same price other places. read more

Tilamook doesn't have much in the way of hotels. I believe the Shilo Inn is one of only a few hotels in town. It is in much need of an upgrade. The hotel still uses old fashioned room keys. When you enter your room, you can tell it is old by the looks of the furniture. However, at least the room was clean, which is way better than having a room that is in desperate need of an upgrade. The front desk is 24 hour, which is always a plus. My fiancee and I checked in at around 1am and the front desk staff member was very friendly and helpful even though it was so late. The hotel also has a pool and hot tub, however, all of those amenities were closed at the time we went due to covid. The restaurant next to the hotel is also closed. However, the hotel is close to a few grocery stores and other restaurants. Still, we were looking for a hotel that was clean and a place for us to sleep and the Shilo Inn did just that. read more

This place needs to be closed! None of the amenities are offered anymore and it was so disgusting, it was unsafe! We didn't last more than 5 minutes in the room and had to get out for our health and the health of our toddler. The smell of urine was so overpowering that our noses and throats were burning. They said we could get a refund if we contacted who we booked through but then didn't respond to them so we weren't given the credit. read more

At least there is no sign of pests. Breakfast is muffins and fruit. Coffee and a machine in the rooms, which could be of better quality. So I was sure to bring an extra meal back from a restaurant (that's a whole other review). The room is nice, simple, useful. It could be deep cleaned more-- I moved the lamp to make room for my electronics to charge and there was a seemingly sticky stain that resembled a coffee spill that required no further investigation-- I stayed away. For an older building, I'm not surprised to see evidence of cleaned stains from mildew. I'll stay here again as long as my business pays for it and there continues to be no sign of pests. As most have stated this place is worn, bedding, carpet, paint, etc... The most disappointing was that all of the amenities shown on their website, pool, gym, bar, etc... are all closed with no mention at all. It wasn't until we had booked, the next day they sent an email only about the pool. Another little surprise that is not mentioned is that they don't clean the rooms or even bring fresh towels during your stay. We have stayed here more times than I can count. It is a family friendly hotel and close to a grocery/clothing store as well as many other places. The beds and pillows are hit and miss so check yours and ask to be moved if too soft. The rooms are always clean as are the main areas. Breakfast is good when it hasn't been reheated The hotel is old so forgive the things that come with that. I had a complaint I took to corporate about a customer service issue and they emailed me back assuring me they are addressing it. Kudos! read more

What happened to Shilo? What used to be the choice place to stay at the coast is now a sad shadow of it's former glory. Faded paint, worn carpets, rusted doors, doors off hinges, and a non running restaurant. All things that should make a franchise owner absolutely livid are very present at this coastal Shilo. It's so sad to see because I used to choose our locally owned Shilo's before any others but I will seriously rethink that after my last stay. read more

The hotel is old and out of date, but it appears that they are slowly trying to update it. We stayed here in our way up the coast and the room we were in had a funky smell and the bedding was rather old with holes in the blanket. The room appeared to be clean and we had a good nights sleep. On the way back down the coast we stayed here again. This new room was slightly more updated with the bedding and there was no funky smell. The room appeared clean, however, there was dirt all over the tub as if it hadn't been cleaned. The door to the room was also hard to open and close. The landscaping was nice and well managed with a huge grass area for your pets. They also had a fish cleaning station if you were a fisherman. The onsite restaurant was convenient and the food was tasty and a good price. The employees that I had contact with were nice and helpful. read more

Had a 2 night stay here and while I was there, it was not a pleasant stay. Walked in and the first thing I saw was an out of order vending machine and right beside it, an out of order ice machine. That should have been the first red flag to leave. I had 2 rooms and thought it was weird that they were the same rooms but didn't contain the same things. One didn't have a trash can, only one had shoe covers for the beds, a one had a tall bed and a short bed in the same room. No big deal, I dropped by bags and left for the day.. when I came back, I got in the shower and when I got out, I wished I had shower shoes because entire rooms floor was so dirty. I brushed my feet off best I could and got into bed. That's when I noticed the tub had a constant drip, all night long. When I finally fell asleep, I was awakened by all the smoke alarms in the buildings going off. The first time it lasted about 10 minutes before it stopped. A little while later, it alarmed again and the again! The whole thing took about an hour to get under control. The next morning I asked the front desk if there was another ice machine and the gal told me there was in the other building so I walked over there through the marijuana smelling halls only to find that one was broken too! That was the last straw and I finally had to go make a complaint. I was told I would receive 50% off my stay for both rooms and that my floors would be cleaned and my room refreshed. I asked them to change the bedding in the 1 bed I used because my dirty feet were in it and she said they would so I decided to stay the second night and left for the day. When I came back, my floors had been cleaned however the bedding wasn't changed (they said they couldn't touch it due to my pillow being on it), the tub was still dripping and I still didn't have a trash can. The next morning I woke up to a full priced charge on my account for the second night. When I went up to the front desk to ask why they didn't take the 50% off the second night, cc, the manager, said it was only for the night the alarms went off even though she and the front desk gal, Susan told me it would be off both rooms for my 2 day stay the morning before. I 100% would have left after the first night had they not offered me 50% off my STAY which included the second. CC told me I needed to email the GM, Toni Perez, and when I did, she refused to honor what I was told and is now unresponsive. I was lied to and now I am being ignored. This place is not only a dump but their employees are just as bad! How they think they can charge $250 a night for a queen bed with these conditions is Insane! There's no pool, no gym, no meeting rooms or amenities. The best kept thing here was the grass and even that was brown. Run for the hills read more

I wouldn't stay here again! First of all, when we booked our hotel we were specifically looking for a hotel with a hot tub and continental breakfast. So we chose the Shilo inn. There were less expensive places to stay but they didn't have the amenities we wanted so we payed a little more. Once we got to the hotel we were met met a sign saying the hour tub is closed!! ( I wish they would have told us that before we booked.) I asked how long it had been out of service. The girl said about 3-4 weeks! Way before we booked. My husband then asked what time was the continental breakfast? She said ,"Oh, we don't have that! If you eat at our restaurant we will give you a discount. " I looked up their restaurant and it had the worst reviews . The reviews said it was a filthy place with horrible food! So no thank you! Then to the room! There was mold in the shower and on the shower curtains. It was out dated( which isn't a big deal. But for 120 a night I'd expect a little more) ripped blankets and scratchy sheets. When I left the next morning for our adventures in Tillamook I put the "room cleaning request " sign out. When we came back they had just thrown our blankets over the bed( did not make the bed and took our cups and towels and didn't leave us any replacement. No USB outlets, broken faucet, no plug for the bathtub, keys instead of keycards. Minor perhaps, at $109 plus $25 pet fee in the middle of winter in a beach town, I expect better. Had to switch to a different room(at 10:30pm-after driving all day), mattress smelled of urine. Next room had same issue, removed pillowcases and found pillows all yellowed as well. Spoke to Asst Manager upon checkout and they assured us Manager would give us a call regarding our issues. Needless to say they never called. Offered us a 15% discount...such a joke! Still waiting for the call from management! Stay away from this place,seems the whole hotel needs to be disinfected!!! Our last day of vacation and this place sure ruined it! I was looking forward to a pleasant stay for my hubby's 50th birthday. I was asked by phone and email if there was anything they could do for the stay. I asked about setting room up in advance for party and I would gladly pay. But none of my questions were answered though I did receive an email redundancy asking again if anything they could do for stay. That aside, we were there for two nights over the weekend of June 25th, you know the weekend it was well over 100 degrees and the ac in our room went out! Yep, called the front desk they sent in the houseman who determined the unit was old and seized up. They told my hubby no other rooms were available. We couldn't open the window as there was no screen and the houseman just shrugged his shoulders! The room was nice but just a miserable stay. they gave us 10% off our stay but clearly they should have comped the second night. read more

Customer service at the front desk was great. The hotel was very old and outdated, bad maintenance of the building and bedrooms. We stayed one night, I don't think I could stay more than that. We reserved a 2 queen bedroom, one of my kids jump on the bed and it was full of dust (and dust mites). It triggered my asthma big time. One of the bed had stains on the sheets, the comforters has holes, stain on the dirty pillows, holes on the curtains, cracks on the ceiling and the wall paper was falling off the walls. Our bedroom door was semi open on the top when closed(I will post a pic). The pool was green on the bottom and dirty and the hot tub out of order. One of the doors at the pool was also out of order and at the gym has black mold on the ceiling. Don't know how this place manages to pass the inspections. read more

Pros: Was able to check in 1 hour earlier (3pm) than listed on their website. Free breakfast, not the best but it did the job of filling me up. Close to stores and attractions. Beds were comfortable. Cons: Seemed very outdated, they forgot to bring out roll away bed to the room, I had to call a second time to get it. They also forgot to bring extra towels to the room, I waited for 3 hours, then just got them myself from the front desk. All the appliances (except for the TV) really should be updated. $250 for a stinky and dilapidated room straight out of 1970's Reno. Everything is broken including the tired old lady that checked us in. I understand that COVID is a problem but charging full price when the pool , spa and gym are all closed is pretty low. Not to mention that the "free breakfast" they offer is also non existent. No cream for the luke warm cockroach coffee. They are taking advantage of weary travelers by never spending a dime on maintenance or amenities. If there is 100 guest at $250 a night and they won't even go across the street to Fred Meyer and buy some flipping fruit and a muffin or two... . My wife and I had brought our new clackacraft Magnum to fish Tillamook Bay and had parked in the truck/rv parking. On the first night we had our boat tank almost full of gas stolen. 3 other people had incidents of gas theft that same night. Come to find out there is no video surveillance on the premises including the mini Mart in the front of the motel. I spoke to the manager who was more concerned about taking care/watching her disabled daughter while at work than she was the motel guests. read more

We were told at check in that we would have breakfast options not just Blueberry muffins. I pick hotels that include a nice breakfast. This was not it! The hotel had a B.O. smell and the shower could of used some bleach. Don't forget your shower shoes. All viso girls would love this place as it hasn't been updated since the 90's! The old, outdated look is fine. I can get past that. And the place was super quiet. I was staying for just one night, one quick stop so I didn't have my toiletries. When I noticed the room was missing soap, I went to the front desk. The lady leaves for a minutes, comes back and hands me several shampoo bottles saying they are out of soap. NO SOAP? She says its on back order. Ok then...now I get to wash my hands and everything else with shampoo. Ugh. This, in my opinion, is where lack of management shows through. Have your staff go across the street and buy soap from Freddies so your guests have something to wash up with. Last grievance, I was lying in bed watching television in the morning shortly before 0900, when I heard a key unlocking my door. If it weren't for the latch lock, I would have been meeting the housekeeping staff that morning. Check out time is at noon. Most places I've ever been, housekeeping KNOCKS first and introduces themselves. Here they just unlock your door and walk right in. Get it together Shilo! Not worth $80 for my stay. read more

Let me start off by saying that we will be staying here again if we are staying in tillamook. I was a flight attendant for 2 years and stayed in some really "nice" hotels. I put nice in quotations because I always expected a bigger price and fancy lobby were a sign of the what to expect in rooms. That rarely was the case. A lot of these hotels I had stayed in were no better than the avg motel 6. The Shilo in has always held a special place to me as in recall staying in them through most of my childhood if we needed to stay somewhere overnight. Aside from my bias here it is.. The staff was helpful and friendly and check-in was a breeze (we booked through Expedia). They kicked in a free breakfast buffet at the restaurant attached and two free drink vouchers for beer, wine, or soda. RARELY SAW THAT IN THE AIRLINE BIZ!! The atmosphere is very cozy as most Shilo inns look and feel. The parking lot was very full indicating a lot of vacationers, as it was spring break, however we found a parking spot fairly close to our room. The room was a little outdated but hey consider this; if they updated the price would go up. Way up. Let me say this though, I've stayed at a lot of hotels but most didn't come with a fridge or little kitchenette. We have our two girls with us and got right down to the 24hr pool. Considering it was spring break and 9 o'clock at night we didn't expect anyone there but we were wrong. About 20 kids wrong. Within a matter of a half hour the kids started vacating and we were the only ones left. The staff kept checking in and making sure there were enough towels. Upon vacating the pool we tried out their sauna... Little too hot. Then we tried their steam room. Holy crap. I've NEVER BEEN TO A HOTEL THAT HAD ONE OF THESE!! Amazing!! Also in the general vicinity was a little workout room. Other than adjusting the heat temp in the room the overnight was fine. No loud noises or commotions outside. My wife and kids went and enjoyed the Buffett. I slept in a while longer. Buffet lasts until 10 and they even let her take a Togo bag for me. My wife is currently down in the business center doing homework, The shower was hot and everything else was splendid. The only thing I didn't care for was the tube TV. Even though I am here for only a night others could and will be here for longer than that. Offering a flat screen--- more importantly a means for someone to connect their devices to the TV and stream video for the whole family to enjoy. Thanks Shilo inn Tillamook. Really awful, the people are great but it was very hard to sleep with all the noise and commotion. Room was clean and tidy, cheap soap and shampoo. The free breakfast was like a homeless kitchen, you get what you pay for.
