Cozy, blast from the past, central location for all that Pacific City has to offer. It really does remind you of something out of a movie, the entrance into the central courtyard giving motor lodge vibes. The location right on Brooten is perfect, you can't miss it. The man staffing the office when I checked in on a Thursday night was really nice. Not in a forced way, nor did he seem like he was tired that he does this every day. He was truly kind, relaxed, helpful and informative. And there was a lot of information to give. The record library that you can borrow from is extensive, I barely scratched the surface (not of the records of course!). Having the update of a door code instead of keys was nice. The rooms were generous in size and had everything we needed - desk for piling my stuff on, TV, single serve coffee maker, two beds, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Couple notes that really don't count against the place but just to make one aware - the beds felt like maybe they weren't quite queen sized but almost full sized? I don't know, I couldn't figure it out but then again, I haven't slept in a queen in awhile. But they were comfortable. Also, where the coffee maker was, on the desk under the TV, there were no outlets. Two blank outlet covers under the desk and the outlet being taken up for the TV but no outlet for the coffee maker. I ended up putting it on a nightstand. Works fine, just a weird thing. I really loved the faux-vintage mini fridges and in some rooms, matching microwaves. Location of this hotel is great, you can walk to most things quite easily. No sidewalks, but that's ok. I would stay here again! read more

Justin is the innkeeper and is probably the most sincerely nice guy I've ever met working a desk. He's friendly and courteous, explained everything and dealt with my neurosis about a late arrival in total stride. We booked here because they are pet friendly and close to the Camp Meriweather Scout Camp, and the price was right. In all honesty, we weren't expecting much-just hoped for clean. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Clean, sanitized room that smelled fresh. The appointments are charming (nautical colored curtains and warm beach feel comforter. The art work is also beach themed_local photography, which is a very nice touch. The room has a nice sized mini fridge-easily holds food and snacks for several days. A small microwave makes reheating leftovers or snacks really easy. A mini coffee pot with coffee cream and sugar are also included-there is even a few tea bags thrown in! Very acceptable room for the money and we are sure to return. read more

I would say his understanding of the property makes other big box chains seem childish. Quickly answering whether a room had hardwood or carpet and able to say when the carpet was replaced recently. A short walk as we take off, we see real palms and feel pre-storm calms as the night sky begins to shutter and countless stars flutter. Just a bit more, was it one drop or four? We can't waste, we won't mess... so my lips search across her chest. One perfectly mixed cocktail compliments the other as we say goodbye for now and the four walls come down. New friends without faces showed us amazing places. From the beauty of flying over gold sands to the absurdity of neon sweat bands. They taught lessons of unknown ages like how to pulse pure love across spaces. Darkness broke and sheets soaked from the passions of delayed decades at long last intertwined. This was the cutest cottages ever! Super clean, spacious and cloud like bed. The pressure in the shower was so good I didn't want to get out. The rooms are beautifully decorated in beach decor, spacious bathroom, plenty of towels, friendly staff. This place is in walking distance to everything. Stores , food and the beach. Clean!! The linens smelled wonderful, bed firm & comfy. Plenty of towels, extra pillow & blanket already in the room. All the basics were provided. Seems like it was recently updated, we were happy with the spot during a holiday weekend- it was actually pretty quiet. Staff was super friendly too! Cozy and adorable hotel suites! Very comfortable and fully loaded. The staff here is beyond hospitable. Location isn't far from Pelican brewery walking but far enough away to avoid the crowd. My friend and I stayed a night and we were really surprised how cute the room was. Everything was clean, not a stain inside. We really appreciated how the kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, cups, plates. I've never stayed anywhere where those were included. We didn't use them but we sure would have if we stayed longer. They are also dog friendly, I brought my hefty side kick on our stay here. I saw that they cleaned up after the guests quickly and washed the sheets. That's something I'm glad I saw that because not every hotel does that. read more

I used to love this place, but not now since i had a horrible experience in April of this year when I stayed there. Over the last six years I had stayed there at least a dozen times. This last time I was assigned room nine. I sat on the bed, and I could tell that the bed was awful. I looked under at the mattress and the boxspring, and I could tell that it was very very old. I asked to be reassigned to another room. The innkeeper, Gas lit me by telling me all the beds were great, and they were all the same, which I know not to be true. I had stayed in room one and four before and the bed was great and very new. He treated me in a super hostile and angry manner. I used to recommend this place to all my friends and family and I made sure to let my friends and family know about my bad experience, and I recommend that they not go there. read more

This is an older motel that has been well maintained. On arrival, the front desk person excused herself to attend to a more pressing matter and than returned to check us in. We had a good sized room with 2 queen sized beds and a full kitchen with utensils. Prices are very reasonable. I went to the front desk once more during our stay and again it was not staffed because the individual was helping elsewhere. We did have one issue with our particular room because of its location near the road, early morning and late evening traffic noise could be heard that disturbed our sleep. I would recommend requesting a courtyard room unless you need the full kitchen. read more

Good value motel, that allows pets! Our room was actually really clean and modern, which was a nice surprise with the small amount we paid. It was small and simple, but just what we needed for our one night stay. The check-in process was very easy, and staff very friendly! When I checked out, there was a man in the back room behind the front desk yelling profanities the whole time and the woman helping me just pretended not to notice. LOL Made me laugh, but not sure other guests would feel the same way! What was he so mad about?! Anyways, very central location and I was thrilled that they allowed pets. There was a small pet fee, but I'm 100% okay with paying that if my babies can travel with me! Also, there was a small little grassy area that the dogs could go potty on as well. My only complaint really is that the walls are VERY thin, and our dogs didn't sleep great and woke us up every now and then because they were hearing lots of sounds. read more

Clean, maintained, comfortable. As told to me (a year ago, as so these are fragments of the story). This place was, at an early point of century last, a Coast Guard Station. The buildings left standing are the officer and the men quarters where they rested between their duties and life saving responsibilities. At the opening of the U shaped construction was a hall for gathering and the mess. That building is no more. Although these accommodations are not on par with luxurious current day hotel, this facility gives a glimpse into the past living accommodations. One can almost imagine how life was for the coast guard men in that day and age. Now questions as to their duties and responsibilities come to mind. What feats were accomplished with the limited tools and equipment at hand. How many lives were saved, and how many of the crew lost over the brief time this station stood its duty. Now the remnants are well maintained by the new caretakers of the Inn at Pacific City. They work constantly on its upkeep and avail themselves to the many visitors of this beautiful piece of coastline. read more

I'd give this place 2.5 stars. Wish I could give more! The staff was very friendly. And I liked how they arranged the soap and had make up remover wipes. Everything was neat and tidy. The outside is cute with hanging flower baskets and a chair. Nice locations, in town and grocery store just minutes away. Unfortunately, it is an older hotel and you can hear anything and everything through the walls. I even heard people next door peeing :/ Eeww The bathtub was worn so it looked dirty. It was clean but just looked that way. It did have a brand new shower head though. The bed was a little hard but had comfy pillows. I haven't stayed in many hotels in pacific city so I can't really compare prices. But I thought the price was a little high. read more

A great find. Made a last minute decision to go to the coast, and dang it, it was hard to find a place that would let you stay just Saturday night. Perfect. The rooms were large, however, because our room window was on the main drag it was hard to get quiet. I am sure the rooms further in that don't face the drag would be great. I'll be back. A charming little hotel, clean beds, clean bathrooms; enough sheets for warmth on cool spring days and the heat works fine. Utterly beautiful place in a charming town where the Dorymen still go out from the beach. We arrived very, very late (like around midnight) on a short weekend trip, getting the reservations only about an hour or two in advance of showing up via phone, and they were very glad to let us get into the room and then settle out the bill in the morning--no credit card or anything, so a very relaxed and wonderful situation! We had all the coffee we needed, and felt comfortable and relaxed in a place where we didn't need to worry about anything; the place was quiet at night, no noise of high speed cars since the town is a few miles off the 101, and no shouting or noise from the rooms. Comfortable, private, laid back, it's exactly what it needs to be, especially for a last-minute coast trip. Intensely reasonable pricing. read more

Have always wanted to stay in Pacific City, it reminds me of spending summers in Cayucos, CA from my childhood. We didn't want to spend our entire budget to stay at other larger well known hotels in town. Found this little gem on Booking.com, and though there it is not a beach front property it provides the best bang for our buck! We pulled in the property and felt we were transported back in time to single story motor lodges of yesteryear. They were still cleaning rooms when we got there and the front desk clerk also helps clean the rooms, hurried over to help us check in. He was very nice and got us a room key, gave us the wi-fi code and pointed out our room to us. Any reservations we may have had pulling into the property were quickly blown out of the water upon entering the room. It was fairly good sized and it was the cleanest room I have EVER been in (not that I make a practice to stay in shady or dirty places) and it was immediately clear that they take great pride in their property. The bed was VERY comfortable with the adequate number of pillows and a spare in the closet area. It was well stocked with necessary items, including make up remover wipes! Rooms have microwaves and a small fridge as well. The shower had good water pressure and the head a good height for husband (he's 5'11") with room to spare). Lots of hot water for those aching muscles, we both showered too. Towels were clean and soft and there were more than enough in there. The tv worked great (although a little small so for these old eyes) but it did pull out on its base. Free wi-fi and plenty of channels on the tv. They rent bikes for $5 hour or $15 for the day, and for a small fee, you can get a power cord for your android/apple device if you forgot yours. It's a short walk to the beach or you can drive over to the Pelican were there is plenty of parking (usually) and climb the sand mountain or take a relaxing stroll on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back and will keep on my list of recommended hotels. read more

Dirty!!! Perhaps the worst experience with a hotel I've ever had. Do not stay here. The pictures lie and the place is an old, run down fire hazard. I think I even saw a ghost. Staff is rude and the second you try to cancel a reservation, they will tell you to take a hike in the Pacific and charge you anyway. read more

We loved our stay! This does have a "Bates Motel" kind of feel but I personally felt that it added to the experience. Our room was straight forward, updated furniture/appliances, the price is just right and it was absolutely spotless - whoever they have on the housekeeping crew is doing a bang up job and deserves a raise! I would say the only down side is that this is an older building so the walls are paper thin. Our neighbors came back about 3am after a night of (obvious) drinking and were slamming/stomping all around, I wouldn't recommend a long term stay unless you're simply using the room for a place to crash/shower while you're in town or are a heavy sleeper. With that said we will definitely stop in again when we're passing through! read more

I normally stay in houses in Kiwanda Shores or Shorepine Estates with my family when visiting Pacific City (several dozen times). But this last time I visited I was on a bicycle tour with just one other person. A house would have been overkill and most have two-night minimums anyway. There aren't many motel options in Pacific City so we picked the Surf & Sand and loved it. There isn't a view and the amenities are pretty basic. But the staff was extremely friendly and the room was very clean and decently appointed. The shower worked great and have an abundant supply of hot water (nice after riding 70 miles into town). Yes, it is an older facility so the trim and details are a bit dated. But everything was very serviceable and the price was definitely right for what we needed. I'll definitely come back here when I need a single night overlay in Pacific City. read more
