I took my Son here for his birthday. He wanted to climb all around Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area all day, so we made an overnight of it. The Sunday night rate was reasonable, each of our Queen beds were comfortable, there was a lot of room to spread out and sit, and what a view out the window! Our only regret was not staying longer and using this place as a jump off point for other parts of the Oregon Coast. The Inn property also includes a coffee ship, pizza place, market, and other offerings we didn't have time to experience. I love this hotel very much. It's our first time to stay there for our Thanksgiving night. The room was so nice and warm welcome for our dog. My boyfriend (now fiancé!) and I just stayed here for the long weekend and got engaged at the hotel! Let me just say, for an engagement during a pandemic there couldn't have been a better setting. We have been on the more cautious side and prefer to keep distance and minimize interactions, the beach was feeling a little busy so he opted to go for it in the room and the rooms couldn't have been better for this. The ocean views, even with the highway right through the middle, are so unreal! You have such a perfect view of the cliff side and haystack rock, it made for the most beautiful sunset moment even from safely inside. Not only this, but the hotel hooked us up with some champagne to celebrate! Other than the setting, it really just doesn't get better than this location. Having multiple restaurants within walking distance for takeout was incredible, we loved everything we tried from Meridian, Pelican, and Stimulus- all of the preferred options from the hotel. We took advantage of all of them as we always prefer local, and we regretted absolutely nothing. The balcony to sit out and watch the stars was amazing, and I have to say as someone that cannot fall asleep without a fan you're doing the lords work by providing one. Bless you. I slept like a baby and can thank you for this. This hotel also has dog friendly rooms, which was necessary for us, but do lookout for bunnies if your dog tends to behave like a predator around small animals! First the good. We reserved the King Suite which was more of a small apartment and I think it runs at about 800 square feet. Very spacious, accommodating, and having all of the amenities, glassware, dishes, etc, you could want! In fact this is probably the best suite I have stayed in and I felt perfectly at home here with fireplaces, sofas, 2 separate bathrooms, a separate kitchen and more! The rates were unusually cheap for something this large, I believe about $225 per night, but keep in mind this was during the off season and mid week. Now the bad..... the interior is aged and probably hasn't seen a facelift in 30 years. Lots of faded art, cracked dials, wood stain that is peeling and cracking, edge worn toilet seats, etc. and while you may have a view of the haystack rock and distant ocean, most of your view will be blocked by the larger Headlands hotel, and Pelican brewing, and these 2 building will be your primary view. But don't let this stop you, the Inn at Cape Kiwanda is a true gem and I would definitely stay here again! read more

The best! This hotel offers adorably quaint, comfortable, extremely clean, accommodating suites that include a fireplace and a balcony with an amazing view of Haystack Rock. A wonderful coffee house is attached to the hotel and there is a great pizza place about a block away, amongst other eateries. It was so great to simply walk across the street to Pelican Brewery and the beach. Could not have been more pleased with our stay. This will be our spot for years to come. read more

Great place to stay. Right by everything you want and need here. Room was great. There isn't a bad room here! Every room has an incredible view. It doesn't matter which floor or side. We were on the end of the south side, second floor. Only complaint about room is the bathroom was not cleaned very well. Found hair from previous persons stay in shower and when turned on jet tub stuff came out of the jets. Recommend filling and flushing the tub at cleaning, with bleach to disinfect and also clean the tub. The shower was absolutely not cleaned before we came in. It was really difficult to turn on so maybe that's why the housekeeper didn't clean it? read more

Still one of the better bargains for a nice hotel that's practically sitting on the sand this far north on the coast. You can probably find decent hotels for less if you drive a little farther, but this one has been doing it well at a good price for a long time. And the word is certainly out, for better or worse. The parking lot across the street is always packed with surfers and beachcombers these days, and there's another huge hotel (for 3x the price) over there now, too. Pac City is more bustling than it used to be. But it's all good. Nobody gets a beach this pretty all to themselves. The Inn! It has a nice lobby, free wine and beer tastings, and views from every room. There are a few jacuzzi rooms and plenty of spacious, bright, airy rooms with comfortable beds and gorgeous views of the big haystack rock in the cove. The bathrooms are nice and big, too, and everything is well appointed. Nice soaps and shampoos, nice furniture, decent coffee in the little two-serving pot. I'll always come back to this place when I need some salt air and whooshing waves. read more

First stay was pleasant with a nice view. Nice gas fireplace kept room very warm and then too hot Downs: had to turn on ac to cool down the room with a portable AC UNIT. Hotel is old, drain in tub wasn't draining properly, there was a drinking glass that wasn't replace time of check in, had dried spit in it. They comp us with breakfast n coffee at stimulus bakery goods. We had dinner at meridian and ate breakfast the next day. We wanted better seafood so we skipped out pelican brewery. Front desk was very kkind and good with service. DVD rentals were complementary as well as water bottles in the fridge u stay in. It is pet friendly, tho room really had a slight wet dog smell, came with Starbucks coffee to brew so i brewed it up and smelt better in the room that fresh coffee smells good! read more

We just stayed one night, and so declined the "housekeeping" option upon checking. Nice room! nice view! stocked with clean towels, coffee, etc....all was well, until 9 am. Even though we also put the "Privacy Please" tab in the notch next to the door outside the room, the housekeeper came, and knocked, again and again, yelling "housekeeping!" Over and over. We were not dressed, one of us still in bed, one in the bathroom. I don't get it. That tab has only one purpose. All the housekeeper has to do is see it. They don't even need to read it. At $400/night, don't nickel and dime your guests and clean the room before check in!!! Opted for no room service EXCEPT trash pickup, which never happened. Every visit here has been fantastic. They were booked for the weekend and only accepting reservations for two or more nights. When we called last minute explaining that we are past clients and this was a last minute trip to the coast for the wife's bday, they immediately made us feel valued and welcomed us to come in for just one night! Having a beautiful view outside of your window is the best. We believe that The Cottages at Cape Kiwanda is the best place to stay in Pacific City, Oregon. Outside the windows of the cottage you'll always see Haystack Rock. You'll see it when you give baths to your children, when you make dinner in the kitchen, or as you lay in the master bedroom. There are 18 beautiful cottages to choose from. The wonderful thing is that each one of the cottages has a patio or balcony. Drinking coffee in the morning while looking at Haystack Rock and listening to the waves crash was the best way to start our day here. The indoor soaking tub was so relaxing. The girls and I never wanted to get out of it. The cottages are fairly new so they are clean. You can rent bikes and sand toys free of charge. read more

I'm here on a weekday in early November. We have a second floor room overlooking the entrance to the beach. Walk to the right for rocks & dunes. Walk to the left for miles of easy to walk beach. Sixty degrees with wind & sun. Very nice clean and well maintained room with a balcony. There is a coffee shop /bakery in the building that opens at 6:00am. Pelican brew pub, a pizza joint and a couple of other eateries / stores are within a block. Long walk or short drive to Pacific City where there is a gas station, more restaurants and two marijuana dispensaries. I've lived in Oregon most of my life and have enjoyed visiting many places on the coast. My first time to Cape Kiwanda and I have a new favorite. A great time and a very positive experience. If you are looking for relaxing beachside Inn this is not it! Nothing more than a roadside motel at almost $400 a night. Should preface this review by saying that I just checked out of The Ocean Lodge at Cannon Beach and at slightly higher price point there is no comparison. While the view here is beautiful....the obstructed roofline of Headlands across the street and road noise cancelled out any enjoyment. The hotel itself can use a cleaning and update. Website advertises welcome warm cookies at checkin... non existent and when they were provided they were mass production quality and placed in plastic sleeve. Pelican beer waiting for you in your room refrigerator is a $20 voucher were you can purchase beer at almost twice the price than across the street. Beach chairs have seen better days and no one cleans or sanitizes for next use which would be expected during pandemic. Owners are more interested in profit margins than providing hospitality and it is felt by this guest. Would not stay again and would not recommend. read more

One of my favorite sleeping stops on the recent Oregon coast exploration trip! The Inn at Cape Kiwanda (I@CK) is located in a beautiful part of Pacific City, but don't let the name, Pacific City fool you. A city...it is not. Parking is in the back. An interesting design, if staying on the north end you could be on the first floor which is actually the second floor. If on the the south end, you could be on the second or third floor. Confused...me too. true the when I say that you want the third floor for the beautiful view that it affords. They have rolling carts to help bring your luggage to whatever room you end up in. Our room was on the third floor. We were perched above the beautiful Pelican Brewery and had an awesome view of the haystack rock and the angry ocean pounding it. The room was clean spacious. The fireplace added to it's comfort. It had a DVD player and you could borrow movies from the desk below in the lobby. Hands down.....I@CK had the best wi-fi connection out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip. The only reason why this was not a 5 star review, is due to power outage we experienced on the morning of our check-out. At a previous stay, we had an electric lantern in our room. Now I know what it was for. The Oregon coast can still be a wild and willy place. Fortunately, the we could still make entry into our room with out key card. While checking out, and because the elevator was not working due to no power, I took a different route will packing up the rental sled. I passed the O'Neil Surf Suite. Surfing at the Cape? I guess so! The suite is a collaboration between O'Neil (credited with the invention of the wet suit) Surfing. I asked about it down in the lobby and they said it was surfing themed room. When back in this part of beautiful state of Oregon, I would absolutely bring a flashlight and stay here again! read more

Currently staying for 3 nights. Placed a small propane fire pit on the concrete, outdoor patio/balcony. I do not believe there are any written rules against this. Within less than one minute of lighting it we received a phone call to our room. The lady was nice about it but informed me that they could see that we had a fire pit & that this was not allowed. I immediately shut it off. There are apparently cameras facing all of the balconies & they watch people in what should be their private spaces. I can imagine that with the blinds open they can also watch anything inside the rooms, as well. This is very disconcerting. I don't really want to stay here again. It now has a very creepy vibe. read more

Thank you for making our engagement weekend so special. First off, when we checked in to get our room it wasn't quite ready yet (mind you, we were 2 hours early for check in) but we were offered a text message when it was ready which was only about 30 minutes later. When we brought our pups inside, the attendants were so friendly and came to give them some attention which they of course, absolutely love. We walked into our room to find treats, bowls, towels and blankets for our fur babies, and also a glass of wine with a nice note for the two of us. The view is amazing and our room was very clean and very comfortable. We did end up having a small issue with our room but were immediately re-accommodated and offered an upgraded room which was lovely! Thank you again for making it such a special weekend, and I can't wait to book our next stay. It's hard to find great service like we received this weekend, especially when two large doggies are involved. I recommend giving this hotel a try when you pass through the beautiful coastal town of Pacific City!! read more

Spent a great two days here. This hotel is in the perfect spot. You are across the 2 lane road from the beach, the "Rock" and Pelican Brew Pub! Riverhouse restaurant is just 5 minutes away. We had a one bedroom suite, wonderful semi covered balcony. The room was nicely stocked...wine glasses, beer glasses, silverware, etc.... They are doing a great job with Covid, even giving a credit to the gift shop if you do not need daily housekeeping.....such a great spot! We will be back again! read more

If you are going/planning on staying at this establishment please be advised that they do not take Cash, They ran our Visa card (the one I used to make the reservations when talking to a associate on the phone) that we always use and pay off every month. It was declined! The front desk was not accommodating to our situation, we brought Cash to pay for our room as we weren't planning on using the card anyways but they insisted and said they would not take Cash pmt. We asked if there might be something wrong with their system and they denied there could be something on their end. Good thing our Daughter was there and used her Card and we just gave her the cash. We later found out that we were not the only one's that their card was declined. And I might add that they were not very nice about it either, it was just like they didn't care about the situation. We were 100% embarrassed as we have never had a problem like this before. It was humiliated for us. I guess Cash isn't good enough anymore! For this reason alone I am only giving a 2*. It sits directly on a busy street...have to keep the door shut and tv on to drown out traffic. In my ocean view room I have a view of the street, strangers, and a parking lot. When I asked for a better room they said they are full but the Airstream in back is available...rows of Airstreams isn't even good camping. A joke. read more

So this is a nice place to stay in a nice location. If you are willing to pay, they have nice jacuzzi rooms. However, the atmosphere of the accomodations is a bit... hostile. First, they really really push you to tour their timeshares. I mean, constantly. The help at the front desk has a very bad attitude, saying No by default. Both times we've stayed there, we've paid extra for something, only to have them try to make some excuse for why we don't get what we paid for. The first time we stayed, our hubcaps were stolen off our car. I thought this was odd and noticed it before leaving, so we complained at the front desk, and they acted like we were crazy. When I continued to complain, they gave us a coupon for a free night. So we went back a few months later, to give it another try and to see if it had improved. They refused to accept our coupon, claiming that we chose the wrong room for it, even though it was the same room we'd stayed in last time. So we were stuck again paying full price. Again, they were not nice. And even though we stayed in the same room where the wifi hadn't worked, and they had promised to fix it, it still didn't work. And they again didn't seem to believe us. What finally prompted me to write this was that another friend spent the night and had her hubcaps stolen! I am not kidding. She reported this, and they claimed, as they had to us, that this has never happened. I'm beginning to sense a pattern here of mistreating their customers. I won't be returning, and I will no longer recommend this Inn to my friends. read more

(no air conditioning) If you open the balcony door you will hear the highway 101 traffic all night. If you are a surfer, bring your all wheel drive vehicle and your long board! Great Beach. One of the most beautiful places on the beach to stay! There are hundreds of places to stay around Pacific City and Lincoln City - but if you want small and charming, this is it! There standard room has the most comfortable hotel bed and real sheets, a feather comforter, and soft pillows. All rooms have a view, and a gas fireplace. It's a deal in the winter to spend a little extra to stay here. The service at the front desk was pleasant and easy. They offer free movie rentals also! The coffee shop next door serves great coffee in the morning, and of course, the Pelican Pub and Brewery is walking distance across the street. WARNING - behind the hotel is a RV park. The woman there is WEIRD and screams obscenities and political slurs to those who just happen to stroll the grounds. Stay far, far away and definitely report it to the front desk if you get caught in one of her tirades. They know of the problem, but be careful! read more

More like 3.5 stars. Some aspects were amazing and some not so much. Stayed just one night a couple of weeks ago in the Nestucca Jacuzzi Room and for the most part was very pleased. I do think it is a tad pricey and staying here was very much a splurge for me. I liked the decor, balcony, and the jacuzzi tub is amazing especially when you're on a little vacay from an apartment where there isn't enough hot water to fill the tub. Access to the beach is beyond perfect and the view of Haystack is nice, although would be best on the third floor. We had a second floor room; I really wanted a third floor room and had called back after making the reservation online to request such a room. The woman who answered the phone took my name and number and said she would call me back, as she was checking in a guest, she never called back. I guess if I really wanted the third floor room I would've called back, but as a customer I don't feel like I should have to call back after my name and number was already taken. As others mention you do have road traffic noise, but I didn't find the noise to be outside normal sleeping hours. As other reviews point out there is no A/C; hello welcome to Oregon, but as a more expensive inn I can see how it would be expected. The bed was so comfy, the late night staff was super friendly, and I liked the Aveda bath products, but I later noticed that the in-room Starbucks was expired. I would probably stay again as I like that Cape Kiwanda is less busy than other coast towns in the area. read more

I use a wheelchair and can't walk at all. Booked the Nestucca Suite with a jacuzzi (not an ADA room) and was pleasantly surprised by 29+ inch doorways into the bathroom and toilet closet. There is a paved walkway for wheelchairs (though it may have a lot of sand collected) to a beach overlook. Every morning you can watch the doryboat fleet heading out and the surfers are amazing to see. Everyone staying at the inn has a great comradery. The staff at the Inn are amazingly hospitable and between here and the Pelican Brewery, you can get great ideas for things to do. Love this place and will return again and again read more
