My boyfriend (now fiancé!) and I just stayed here for the long weekend and got engaged at the hotel! Let me just say, for an engagement during a pandemic there couldn't have been a better setting. We have been on the more cautious side and prefer to keep distance and minimize interactions, the beach was feeling a little busy so he opted to go for it in the room and the rooms couldn't have been better for this. The ocean views, even with the highway right through the middle, are so unreal! You have such a perfect view of the cliff side and haystack rock, it made for the most beautiful sunset moment even from safely inside. Not only this, but the hotel hooked us up with some champagne to celebrate! Other than the setting, it really just doesn't get better than this location. Having multiple restaurants within walking distance for takeout was incredible, we loved everything we tried from Meridian, Pelican, and Stimulus- all of the preferred options from the hotel. We took advantage of all of them as we always prefer local, and we regretted absolutely nothing. The balcony to sit out and watch the stars was amazing, and I have to say as someone that cannot fall asleep without a fan you're doing the lords work by providing one. Bless you. I slept like a baby and can thank you for this. This hotel also has dog friendly rooms, which was necessary for us, but do lookout for bunnies if your dog tends to behave like a predator around small animals! We saw multiple throughout the weekend. Such an amazing stay and we appreciate the staff for making our memorable weekend so comfortable and accommodating!

The best! This hotel offers adorably quaint, comfortable, extremely clean, accommodating suites that include a fireplace and a balcony with an amazing view of Haystack Rock. A wonderful coffee house is attached to the hotel and there is a great pizza place about a block away, amongst other eateries. It was so great to simply walk across the street to Pelican Brewery and the beach. Could not have been more pleased with our stay. This will be our spot for years to come.

View from our room was incredible.

Great place to stay. Right by everything you want and need here. Room was great. There isn't a bad room here! Every room has an incredible view. It doesn't matter which floor or side. We were on the end of the south side, second floor. Only complaint about room is the bathroom was not cleaned very well. Found hair from previous persons stay in shower and when turned on jet tub stuff came out of the jets. Recommend filling and flushing the tub at cleaning, with bleach to disinfect and also clean the tub. The shower was absolutely not cleaned before we came in. It was really difficult to turn on so maybe that's why the housekeeper didn't clean it?

First stay was pleasant with a nice view. Nice gas fireplace kept room very warm and then too hot Downs: had to turn on ac to cool down the room with a portable AC UNIT. Hotel is old, drain in tub wasn't draining properly, there was a drinking glass that wasn't replace time of check in, had dried spit in it. They comp us with breakfast n coffee at stimulus bakery goods. We had dinner at meridian and ate breakfast the next day. We wanted better seafood so we skipped out pelican brewery. Front desk was very kkind and good with service. DVD rentals were complementary as well as water bottles in the fridge u stay in. It is pet friendly, tho room really had a slight wet dog smell, came with Starbucks coffee to brew so i brewed it up and smelt better in the room that fresh coffee smells good!

Pacific City is uber dog friendly

We've stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed it here. Pacific City is every bit as beautiful as Cannon Beach but without the crowds and tourist traps. The Inn at Cape Kiwanda is great for families and people traveling with dogs. The rooms have great views and are clean. Prices are reasonable for a beachfront location. The staff is great. What more could you want? Check it out.

View of Haystack Rock in middle of coast of Oregon

Best views from a boutique Inn of coastline. They have 35 rooms with balcony facing the ocean. Area surrounded by restaurants and beautiful scenery. A hidden gem. Room have many amenities and a fireplace. and housekeeping is ready at command. Perfect get away . Loved the vibe . Relaxing.

Having a beautiful view outside of your window is the best. We believe that The Cottages at Cape Kiwanda is the best place to stay in Pacific City, Oregon. Outside the windows of the cottage you'll always see Haystack Rock. You'll see it when you give baths to your children, when you make dinner in the kitchen, or as you lay in the master bedroom. There are 18 beautiful cottages to choose from. The wonderful thing is that each one of the cottages has a patio or balcony. Drinking coffee in the morning while looking at Haystack Rock and listening to the waves crash was the best way to start our day here. The indoor soaking tub was so relaxing. The girls and I never wanted to get out of it. The cottages are fairly new so they are clean. You can rent bikes and sand toys free of charge.

I'm here on a weekday in early November. We have a second floor room overlooking the entrance to the beach. Walk to the right for rocks & dunes. Walk to the left for miles of easy to walk beach. Sixty degrees with wind & sun. Very nice clean and well maintained room with a balcony. There is a coffee shop /bakery in the building that opens at 6:00am. Pelican brew pub, a pizza joint and a couple of other eateries / stores are within a block. Long walk or short drive to Pacific City where there is a gas station, more restaurants and two marijuana dispensaries. I've lived in Oregon most of my life and have enjoyed visiting many places on the coast. My first time to Cape Kiwanda and I have a new favorite. A great time and a very positive experience. From the outside, you get that classic hotel vibe, but step inside and it's been remastered into something effortlessly cool... warm, stylish, and just the right amount of hip. Right on track. Price? A total steal and it's like finding a rare vinyl in the bargain bin. Parking? Smooth and easy, no scratches on this record. And the staff... nothing but good vibes. The man staffing the office when I checked in on a Thursday night was really nice. Not in a forced way, nor did he seem like he was tired that he does this every day. He was truly kind, relaxed, helpful and informative. And there was a lot of information to give. The record library that you can borrow from is extensive, I barely scratched the surface (not of the records of course!). Having the update of a door code instead of keys was nice. The rooms were generous in size and had everything we needed - desk for piling my stuff on, TV, single serve coffee maker, two beds, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Couple notes that really don't count against the place but just to make one aware - the beds felt like maybe they weren't quite queen sized but almost full sized? I don't know, I couldn't figure it out but then again, I haven't slept in a queen in awhile. But they were comfortable. Also, where the coffee maker was, on the desk under the TV, there were no outlets. Two blank outlet covers under the desk and the outlet being taken up for the TV but no outlet for the coffee maker. I ended up putting it on a nightstand. Works fine, just a weird thing. I really loved the faux-vintage mini fridges and in some rooms, matching microwaves. Location of this hotel is great, you can walk to most things quite easily. No sidewalks, but that's ok. I would stay here again!

But to miss this unassuming little spot would be a mistake. Located in the heart of Pacific City, the Pacific City Inn is just the ticket if you're traveling with a dog. We checked in later than we had hoped, due to some unexpected automotive excitement, and we were disappointed that we didn't have more time to romp on the beach. Check-in eased that pain. We were given a complimentary baggie with a cleanup bag and dog treats, and directed to head right to the beach for sunset -- as soon as the owner met Marley. It was great to get out of the car and tear around on the sand for all three of us. We returned to find a room fit for a dog. Simple, comfortable accommodations. No carpets to worry about, doggie cleanup towels in the office for beach trips and an expansive lawn out back, abutting our cozy patio. We ordered shrimp salads from a place the owners recommended. Delicious. A request for ice brought us ice, two glasses and cocktail napkins on a tray! She seemed disappointed when I declined the offer of straws. All three of us slept like we had not slept in days, thanks to comfortable beds and quiet surroundings. Pacific City Inn used to house a bar and restaurant, but no more (another Covid casualty). But no matter, because there's lots of food options nearby. What it is: a friendly, pet-loving place with all the things you need and nothing you don't. What it isn't: fussy or precious. My husband, our little girl dog and I decided to stay at Raines Resort for one night before we drive up to visit the Tillamook Creamery (which is ~ 35 minutes away but is cheaper staying here than some of the other hotels closer). If you make a booking online directly through Raines Resort's website, it is cheaper and there is also a small discount if you stay 2 nights or more. We stayed in C3, one of their cabins that has a wonderful view of the river (just steps from your balcony). What is really nice about this cabin is that there is also a kitchen, which is something we really wanted so that we could cook our meal and also a meal for our little girl (yes we primarily cook all of our meals for her). It is nice that the kitchen has dishware, utensils, cookware, coffee, etc. But you would have to bring your own cooking oil and seasoning. There is also a full size fridge that has a freezer, which is greatly appreciated because from other hotels that we have stayed in, although there is a mini fridge, the mini fridge doesn't have a freezer and we have things that we would like to freeze (ice packs and also like to freeze bottled water to keep our food items cold in our cooler). There is a parking spot that you can park right in front of your cabin, which makes for easy loading and unloading. The bed we had was nice and comfortable. The place itself was clean. The bathroom was small though but was fine for our stay. Prior to our stay, Hong (the manager and possibly the owner?) contacted me via text message to ask me if I knew what time I would be arriving. I had told him that it would most likely be after the office is closed since we were on a road trip. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and gave me the door code to get in and also said that he was going to be out of town so that most likely we would not meet him. But he was very good at checking in with me via text message, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, we all really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when passing through this part of Oregon.
