So with my friend saw what a wonderful job Shane did, it was pretty impressive. Shane is also a Down to earth, nice and unpretentious stylist. Yes, you read that right, an unpretentious hairstylist. I found him while he was in Portland. & I hope Idaho takes advantage of his skills! Some things stylists do wrong: make hair too blonde, excessive use of hair- damaging heat, brassy tone. I could not give her a good review. I heard from the owner (Becky?) afterwards, who got me back in right away (and fixed the sloppy haircut). She asked me to update my review on their website (not Yelp). She said she would send me a link but she kept forgetting to do it, and I never could get on to their website to change my review. 2 years later I was desperate to get a haircut before my daughter's funeral, and decided to give them another chance. Julie was in a hurry as it was December 23rd (and she told me she had not done anything to prepare for Christmas). I told her I wanted to take off 2 1/2 inches of length. She grabbed my hair and cut it ALL off. I had told her before she got started on the cut, I did NOT want a super short haircut -- but that's what I got stuck with. It took me 2 years to grow my hair as long as it was! I was heartbroken when I saw how she had just chopped everything off. She was obviously preoccupied she told me I was the last appointment for the day. She should have never taken me as a customer if she couldn't manage to pay attention, and do it in a professional manner. Every other time I've ever had my haircut, they take off some, and then ask you if that's "enough"--- before they take off anymore.

Not only did my hair turn out exactly as I wanted, but she was friendly and personable. I enjoyed chatting with her during my appointment. As always, I asked for The Cosmo from their lookbook. I was in a wedding later in the day, so I didn't have Brooke brush it out for me. It fell quite a bit on it's own before the wedding, but a quick flip of my head as Brooke instructed and it was perfect. I love the whole line of Drybar products, but she really nailed it in her selection of which ones to use on my hair. I don't find myself in CDA very often, but if I ever do again, I'll be sure to stop in. It was well worth the drive from Spokane!
