The repair guy quickly diagnosed the problem - a broken coupling between the motor and the transmission. He also pointed out the water hoses were in bad shape (bulging) and needed to be replaced. He fixed the coupling and replaced the hoses, and the total bill worked out to just under $136, and was done in little less than hour. He left everything neat and tidy when he was done. The best part of the whole deal was that he showed up EARLY. Traffic had been really bad the day before, and so he allowed extra time and arrived early. He politely asked if it was too early, but I was delighted to get the whole process started early and then done early. YAY for a repairman who cares about showing up on time! The weekend before he was scheduled to arrive, Stephanie contacted me to say that Paul was too busy to come on Monday and it would have to be pushed to Tuesday. I explained that I was moving and that Monday would be better since I need to get it fixed. She insisted that he had to come on Tuesday, and told me that he had time to both provide an estimate and both fix the fan on Tuesday. I left work early in order to get home for Paul to arrive at 6:30 PM. He never showed up. I emailed Stephanie around 7 PM and she told me that her she had emailed me but "it must have gotten caught in her outbox", but that Paul had gotten caught up in the previous job and wouldn't be able to come. I explained, again, that I would be moving and needed this fixed. Stephanie told me she didn't know what I was talking about, that even if Paul could come provide an estimate he wouldn't be able to fix it. I responded back with a screenshot of Stephanie telling me he could both provide an estimate and fix it in one day. Stephanie then promised me that Paul would arrive at 6 AM the next day to fix it. I was very clear, again, with Stephanie that my movers were coming at 7 AM and he had to be on time since I was leaving. I got up super early to be ready for his arrival... and he arrived at 7:15 AM, an hour and 15 minutes late, as my movers were in the midst of moving. He did tell me what the problem was, but said he'd have to come back and fix it. I told him he'd have to coordinate with my tenant who was moving in. I connected Stephanie and Paul with my tenant. She scheduled two times for him to come fix the issue and both times, he never showed without notice. Finally my tenant emailed Stephanie and Stephanie responded that she no longer works for 99 Handy. I texted Paul twice last week asking him to please fix the gaping hole in my bathroom wall, and got no response. Please stay away at all costs. I don't know how anyone could possibly give them a good review. And Paul, please feel free to respond to my texts.
