I got my first mammogram at this place recently. Then I had to go back for an unrelated issue due to a possible pinched nerve. Yep...had my first MRI as well. The person (Kevin) who books appointments was so helpful, accommodating, and efficient. I still can't believe how quickly I was able to get an appointment for both procedures. Did I mention they're open during the weekends? The tech (Patrice), who performed the mammogram was so professional, detailed about each step, and so gentle. Whatever anxiety I had walking in quickly passed because of her. For my MRI, Alejandra- just like Patrice- was so great about explaining all the steps and making sure I was comfortable. You can't beat a $55 2-view Chest X-Ray. I literally could not find a better priced option in LA. Obviously you will need a doctor's order for diagnostic imaging-- I go to Kyung Mo Han, an internal medicine doctor in Ktown for the order, for out of pocket things like this. It's packed and busy. I believe xray is all on a walk-in basis. They have MRI, CT scan, and mammograms all in the same place. It gets busy, but the staff manage it pretty well. They take credit card. Parking can be tight sometimes, but the parking lot behind the building is helpful. read more

Do not come to this location. I was turned away. At 5:10 pm I called the location spoke to a lady on the phone. I asked her how late they were open for x-rays? She said 6:30 PM said oh good. I'll be right there. I arrived at the location at 6:05 PM and when I entered the lobby, the gentleman sitting behind the desk obviously knew I was there for an x-ray because he immediately says if you're here for x-rays, our machine is closed for the night, I said the lady told me it was open till 630 and she came walking from the back and would not look at me. I have surgery and now I get to go drive another hour to a different location hopefully I will make it there before they close. read more

Avoid at all costs. Unprofessional. They do not honor appoinmemt times. I was called to show up earlier since a time slot opened up. I agreed since it was 20 min earlier. I show up on time. I am waiting for 20 minutes. I ask what's going on. They state a patient arrived late to their appointment, so it pushed mine back. Excuse me, you called me to tell me you have an open time slot. Took 90 minutes. What should've have taken 30. Then I get a call back 3 days later saying my MRai shows motion. I have a question? Can the techs not verify there is no motion prior to releasing me? So i schedule another appointment. Said I can come in at my convenience. I called prior to showing up they say come on in. I show up and they said they can't fit me because they are so busy. In a similar situation as the other 1 star reviews, and it is quite apparent why. In hindsight, I should have read them thoroughly before booking an MRI appointment with them so let this be your fair warning. We booked an appointment for my mother for an MRI/MRA 4 weeks prior. During the initial appointment request, it was never mentioned to us that they will be calling a day prior to confirm our appointment otherwise it would be cancelled. We never got any phone calls or voicemails, let alone even a text trying to get ahold of us to confirm this. On the day of our appointment, we were informed that it has been cancelled and the slot has been filled by another patient. DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT choose Shin Imaging for your MRI/MRA needs. You are much better off choosing United Medical Imaging. I have never been at such loss for words. As for staff members reading this review from Shin Imaging, I do not care if you take this up to your supervisors or directors to improve on future visits. This is the worst run medical practice in LA. It's faster to drive there to book an appointment than call on the phone. 3 times ice waited for more than an hour on hold. When I've gone there in person, there FOUR people behind the front desk! What are they doing?? Goofing around and joking and not giving a shit about the patients. I've sat there watching them "work". Zero attitude. If I was the owner of this business I would fire everyone and start again. Something is fundamentally wrong with this place. I had an MRI booked and they told me my insurance wasn't authorized. I called my insurance and they unsaid it was fine. I book in again. When I get there, their machine is broken. They rescheduled me weeks later and said they would calm if there were cancellations. They called me at 7;30 pm on a Friday night when I was at dinner. Never heard from them again. The Korean mri tech (yuri or qrie) that took care of me was super rude, kept shoving something into my shoulder. I kept telling her I am uncomfortable but she just ignored everything I said and kept telling to stay still while giving attitude.... I swear I was about to lose it getting treated like some object for money. No regards as a human but more like we a walking dollar signs for these people! This review is on behalf of my mother who is currently going through some implications on her health. First of all getting an appointment itself took a very long time which may lead you to believe that they are great due to the amount of costumers. Don't be fooled. Many of these customers are elderly people with no access to view reviews and come here based off recommendations. Once my mother arrived she was given a large amount of fluid to consume to proceed with her MRI. This process is normal and although not pleasant it is necessary and everything was fine. It's time to now draw blood and as you can see in the posted photos the amount of needle insertions is greater than 8. She was left bleeding all over the body only to be told to leave, make another appointment, and drink the unpleasant fluid once again. Understandably there are times when one nurse can't properly insert the needle but to not have one person able to complete what was needed to do is just grossly wrong. Please go somewhere else unless you are willing to risk wasting 2 weeks of wait time for an appointment with the possibility of leaving bloodied. read more

They are in my blue shield health insurance network, because it was Sunday they could not claim with my insurance, but they said the would next work day available, HUGE LIE, I been trying to get refunded for months now and this lady named Felix continue to lie and avoid me. This place was CROWDED and no one actually greets you when you walk in. You're automatically supposed to know to sign in on the clipboard and wait your turn. I was getting antsy because my appointment time was approaching but no one had looked at the clipboard since I signed in about 20mins prior...I went up there and told them my appointment time was approaching and they said okay, to sit, and they'd get to me. Man, this office is really terrible at communicating. When I first go to my MRI appointment, they ask me if I brought in the previous MRI CDs. I say no, because no one told me to bring them. I finally get the results from Shin, take them to my doctor, and the doctor says they want to do a comparison. So I bring in the previous CDs to Shin, and they spend over an hour copying them, and I just sit there waiting. They say they'll send the addendum to my doctor's office. Weeks go by . No addendum. I finally call them back and ask where the addendum is. They said they can't do it because the previous MRIs were on a different machine!?! Why didn't anyone mention that at any point earlier? Why waste my time, making me bring in the CDs and copying them, if they new they couldn't do a comparison with them? What a horrible place to try and get medical care. read more

Not to mention the imaging tech's bedside manner which was rude and dismissive. I came here to get an MRI. I have had an MRI done once before so I have something to compare. So make sure you come dressed ready for the MRI. I wasn't offered any clothes to change into and wasn't asked if I had any metal on me. They just took me to a room and told me to leave my belongings and they put me on the machine. At my other MRI, I was given headphones with music to help with the loud noise of the machine but nothing like that here. It did get pretty loud. read more

The experience I have had with Shin has been a disappointment both times I have had an MRI and Ultrasound done. The facility itself is fine. The staff seems friendly and the service is fine with the exception of one process that has happened both times I have had service. I am always charged upfront an excessive amount ($400+ and $500+ respectively) upon check-in, and in each case they have had to refund me because I was overcharged (insurance, deductible, etc). Dealing with Rezolut (their billing agency) is a joke. Last year, they took about 6 months to provide me a reimbursement, and it only arrived after I eventually filed a complaint with the BBB. It miraculous arrived a week after filing the complaint. This year, the same thing is happening, and I keep getting told it just takes time. I just called again and was told to wait another 2 weeks, but it looks like I will be filing another complaint. Avoid this place if you can. read more

I had a terrible experience at this facility yesterday and wasn't going to say anything but it's only fair for future patients to be forewarned. This was my first time here and I came in for a shoulder MRI. I found the facility to be pretty busy but moving along... The gentleman at the front desk was polite and checked me in then advised it would be about a 20min wait so I just hung out out front (there was a lil farmers market going on so I didn't mind.) He then called my cell to let me know they were ready for me which I thought was nice. My review is based off of my experience with the MRI Tech - her name is Kyurahee. Upon being called back in she quickly instructed that I remove all clothing from waist up and to put a robe on. Not sure why I felt uneasy about it but I put on 2 paper robes and walked into the room. She told me to lay down and handed me some earplugs. I was given no blankets and it was freezing in there and since I was only wearing paper robes I sort've had my arms awkwardly positioned in front of me. She then walks over to my right side, my bad shoulder, and extremely aggressively shoves this extra piece of equipment into my arm and side. I looked at her and was like "Omg that's my bad shoulder! Why would you be so rough with me?!" Which she then responded with something along the lines of "this is part of the exam.." I was so taken aback. I remember thinking that I had made my way all the way over here spending $14 on a Lyft, and had already rescheduled this MRI one time before and so I really wanted this to work out. So I asked her if we could try this again just slower. But in the end she didn't seem like she was going to go out of her way to accommodate me and was still rough even the 2nd time of trying to adjust my arm into the apparatus. I told her I'd contact my attorney and find another place. Ugh what a let down. It's unfortunate that things like this happen. If people were just nicer, willing to listen. But such is life. I pray she finds what's she's looking for. read more

Very incompetent radiologist and staff that books appointments. TL;DR I had to submit a complaint to the medical board of California due to lack of response from Shin Imaging management. Story time: went for a pelvic ultrasound. Was told to drink 32 ounces of water one hour before my exam, which I did. My exam was stopped twice because of how full my bladder was, technician performing it was not sure why I was told to drink so much liquid. Guess what? my results stated "a very limited exam" due to an EMPTY bladder. Organs that I needed to be reviewed were not detected. Technician is also something else. Why wasn't exam stopped when she realized the can't see anything because my bladder was so full? Drinking so much water was not my idea! I called multiple times, I sent emails to Jaime Kim (Jkim@shin-imaging.com) and to the general scheduling email (schedulingLA@shin-imaging.com), waited a long time on hold on the phone. Last I heard that a team member was going to talk to the manager. Never heard back, was not even connected to that person again. Instead they called my doctor and said I needed to do an MRI!! Instead of doing their job and performing an ultrasound they want me to do another unnecessary and a very expensive procedure. Hey Shin Imaging center, I really hope medical professionals from the board will investigate instructions you gave me and will review my test results since your radiologist clearly is not able to tell the difference between an empty and a full bladder. Curious what else he might have mis interpreted for other patients? If the medical board won't do anything next step will be a lawyer. read more

The doctor's office is impressive and clean. When you have the MRI taken, you'll see images of Korean cherry blossoms and open sky, it's very relaxing. It's impressive that the doctor went to Harvard, as well. I'm glad that they relayed some findings that I hadn't been looking for, and that possibly shows they have high-tech MRI technology. My rating is based on the technician and on an office worker. The technician did her job, but after asking me to lay on the bed to prepare for the scan, she thoughtlessly had done something with the machine that caused it to push my head and torso side to side very hard. She apologized, but I was so irritated as I was getting an MRI for my neck pain in the first place! I called the office to let them know what happened, as a courtesy, but the young women who answered the phone started implying I'd done something wrong, like if I had jumped on the tray or something without consulting anyone. I told her that I had followed instructions, and was on the scanning bed per instructions and that the tech somehow did something to the machine; that I was letting her know so this wouldn't happen to other patients. She acted defensively and rudely, and so this caused me to write this review. I still get a pain in the front of my neck sometimes and it's been 2 months since this incident. I had two MRIs done here and they charge me the full rate over $2000 each even though I have PPO insurance through Blue Shield and submitted my insurance information multiple times. They told me to disregard the bills that kept coming and now they are in collections and affecting my credit. This place is so poorly run, and their billing department does not communicate with the sign in department so they do not remedy billing problems before they go to collections. Now I'm working with my insurance and the collection agency to remedy this, but it has already affected my credit and I am so serious about it. My mom went in for an ultrasound/MRI at Shin Imaging located at 266 S. Harvard Blvd, #180. Los Angeles, CA 90004 in and around 10:20 am. They initially took her X-ray and advised her to wait in the waiting room for her ultrasound. Mind you, she is taking these exams for a possible serious diagnosis, therefore she is more than anxious to get her results and have the tests done in a trusting and comforting environment. Another patient, who she did not know, went to get her MRI done and when she was going in they attempted to confirm her information by her birthday. She let them know that she was not born in my mom's birth year, rather another year. She told this to the associate on multiple occasions but the associate let her in anyways. This institution used my mom's X-rays to complete the other patient's ultrasound. After finding out what they did wrong, they had to go through the entire process of getting another test approved via both parties insurance which took hours to complete. There are multiple inexcusable transactions that took place here. First, is a violation of privacy. The associates here took my mom's information, confirmed with another patient. Next, is an extreme danger to her health. Had this not been captured, she could have received a misdiagnosis which in turn could impact her life. Next, the lack of empathy and plain common sense from untrained associate. After taking hours to finish, the associates went to lunch just to tell me that her that she could leave. It is a hot mess in the center and I demand all authorities in charge of this facility to conduct a full audit of not only the premise in LA but in Fullerton and Buena Park as well. This place should be charged with a criminal complaint. Your life could be in jeopardy by using this facility. Stay away at all cost!!!
