This is the place to go if you are even a little claustrophobic. I couldn't do a regular MRI so I came here. The tube is wider and shorter, so you don't feel like you're in a coffin so much. They give you little earbuds and you can select whatever music you want. The technician was very patient and comforting. Parking is a little pricey. read more

Just had my second MRI and this facility and cannot praise them enough! Just like last time, they got me in under 48 hours after my referring doctor's visit and even apologized for not having anything next-day. They also were willing to defer full payment so that previous insurance claims would post to my account. As for the scan itself, zero complaints. Super comfortable with a mirror to look outside -- even without the mirror, the bore is so roomy that I probably would have been totally fine. And the machine you can barely hear when the music plays. At times I didn't even realize we were scanning until the music got quieter! Was check-in to check-out in an hour for TWO different scans and had my images on a CD in-hand upon leaving, practically unheard of in the MRI world. Everything was a breeze, but be sure to get street parking because they do NOT validate. read more

Do not park in their garage!!! It is 32.00 for one hour. Get there early and find parking in the area, which is not easy to begin with. They do not validate. It's quite upsetting that their parking situation was not explained when booking the appointment. That being said, everyone was really nice that set my son up for his MRI. We were in and out and received the imaging on a CD before leaving. read more

While I'm not super claustrophobic, I don't exactly love being in an MRI machine, and I've unfortunately been in a few different ones over the years. But, wow, is Westwood Open MRI a total game changer, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who's feeling a little (or more than a little) antsy about getting an MRI done. Westwood's MRI tube is open at both ends (not the fanciest analogy, but think of an empty toilet paper roll) as well as wider inside so there's more space between you and the walls. Being able to see out of the back of the tube helped me tremendously and I didn't feel nearly as anxious here as I have in other, more closed off machines. The customer service is also top notch. They give you scrubs to wear instead of a flimsy gown, play music for you while you're getting the scan, and let you know how long each scan is going to be while they're happening. Everyone I talked to was very friendly and professional, and they gave me a disc of my scans before I left. Westwood is also conveniently open on Saturdays, and while they don't validate on the weekend, the parking lot was only $6 for the day. read more

When I came here for an MRI I was expecting a boring 45 min waist of my time,laying uncomfortably inside of this machine and endure those annoying noise but instead I was covered with warm blanket ,and offered to listen any music my heart desire. I asked for something Italian just to be difficult and here we go even specific performer . I was flabbergasted ! Time flies so fast ! I was kind of disappointed that it was over so soon . And my DJ-technician was amazing , He was professional , gentle , polite , attentive and knowledgeable. He poses all of those qualities and much more. I'm so thankful to all of those professionals who work so diligently at Cedar Sinai imaging center to provide such excellent and an outstanding services to their clients. Thank you! 3/3/20 I came here for updated MRIs for neck and lower back. Everything from checkin to the MRI went smoothly because it was an MRI of two areas I was in the tube for quite sometime. They put a head piece on me that has a mirror on it allowing me to see Wilshire Blvd. They play whatever music you'd like for me it's always 90's RnB. 4/10/20 I had to come in for a MRI of the brain, probably the scariest MRI today 1) because I've yet to get the results back and two they put this helmet on you. lol I didn't like it lol But, I did move one bit. I chose the same music this past time and was given a mirror to once again see Wilshire Blvd to my dismay I saw my ex stop at the light red light with someone he once told me was just a friend. They appeared to be having a verbal altercation and that made me smile and laugh so hard they checked in on me through the speaker to insure I was OK! They're really good and checking in ever few minutes on the speaker and also reminding your doing great as an incentive to stay still. Most memorable MRI to date!! The check in to the MRI techs Jesus and Melissa were great this time around! They had a great response to the COVID-19 as I was the only patient in the building at the time and they spaced out enough time to allow them to completely disinfect the machines and allow social distancing by only having one patient in the building at once and I thought that was a really good approach to flattening the curve. The only negative I have is that they still use CD ROMs and I feel like that is just so ancient it would be nice if they went digital other than that I highly recommend this place! Otherwise super clean facility with a very modern MRI machine. read more

I waited for days to get an appointment and got mixed feedback from doctor, Westwood mri, and insurance on status of my file and misinformation on calls placed and messages left for me. It is probably great if you are claustrophobic but otherwise go elsewhere. You will save a lot of headache in getting the administrators to move your file through the process. read more

Been here more than a few times for imaging and it's always been a pleasant experience. Centrally located, great imaging procedures, and a very helpful staff. They go out of their way to schedule you in ASAP and get the job done. They are clearly seasoned professionals at what they do. A family member recently made the mistake of going elsewhere (SimonMed) and had a horrible and painfully frustrating experience. I had an MRI here in 2021 and specifically requested to have my 2022 one at the same location. The process is so well executed, the staff answers all questions before you even need to ask them. They're friendly and make it really comfortable so it's not intimidating at all. Parking is expensive so street parking, public transit, or just parking at the Whole Foods and grabbing an item quickly are all better options. read more

I'm claustrophobic and could not handle a Brain MRI in the tunnel type MRI near me. I asked MD for a sedative and then booked Westwood MRI. The 45 minute drive was worth it. The staff are amazing. The MRI machine is open on top ( not the sides) and most of my body was out from chest down. They give you ear plugs tuned to your preferred music- I listened to 94.7 THE WAVE which helped distract me from the banging noises of the MRI. This was not offered by Renaissance Imagery and believe me you want it! With a brain MRI they put a cage-like thing over your head which freaked me out till they put a mirror on top that allowed me to watch the traffic on Wilshire Blvd. The technician said to count the blue cars that went by to keep my mind occupied. Then she announced over the ear pods how long each section was going to take. " ok, this one will last 6minutes" " this part is only 2 minutes" you have to stay perfectly still so this let you know when you could take a deep breath and relax a bit. What really helped was having the male tech hold my hand firmly throughout the test. You can have a friend do this for you too. My exam was without contrast so only lasted 15 minutes. With contrast takes 2-3 times longer. I'd taken the tranquilizer 20 minutes beforehand but it didn't really kick in until the test was over. So my friend waiting to drive me home was amused that I flew out of there a little stoned with a big smile of relief on my face. They sent my result over to my doctor and gave me a DVD/cd of the scan. The doctor called the next morning with good news that all is well. If I ever have to do this again I will go back here. Highly recommend. Btw they took my Medicare with Blue Shield supplement. read more

Today was my second time @ Westwood Open MRI. Unfortunately, there are no facilities in my area that offer open MRI's and I can not do a regular MRI due to being claustrophobic. Both times I have made my appointment on Saturdays due to the fact that I live a distance from Westwood. The whole process was simple and very professionally handled. I was in and out within the hour. From the receptionist to the technicians everyone is very accommodating. Having a mirror to be able to look out the window is a huge plus along with playing the music of your choice. Parking on weekdays is $35 (they do not validate). Today the cost was $7. I highly recommend this facility. read more

Was sent here for an MRI and it was a great experience. Efficient appointments, great staff... and they even let you listen to music to drown out the sound of the machine. At the end, they give you a disc of your images - I had to find a specific website to be able to view the image types, but I was able to view them. Very clean facility. A little hard to get to (had to park on the roof for the gym clients, but this could also be my own error). Will definitely come here again if I need another MRI. read more

This was my first MRI experience and I initially booked with UCLA for another day but decided to try Westwood Open MRI based on the reviews and comments about the experience. Best decision I could've made! The appt was easy to make and the scheduler was friendly. I checked in for my appt this morning (yes, a Saturday appt!) and Nina was so friendly and explained everything about my insurance and paperwork. I didn't wait long before Heidi called me back. She has the BEST bedside manner I've experienced in LA! She took the time to explain the entire process and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. She regularly will tell you how much time you have and ask if you need anything. I didn't feel claustrophobic at all! I had glasses that she placed on me to see outside, music in my ears and call button in case I needed her. They make sure everything is wiped down and sanitized as well and they move very quickly. Great experience!!! While I appreciate them, I hope to not have to see them again (because that means I'm getting another MRI) lol. read more

I was referred here by my doctor due to a likely herniated disc. My doctor flagged it pretty urgent and my doctor told me that in 90% of the cases results get back within 24 hours and NEVER exceeds 72 hours at most. It has been OVER 4 days and my doctor still have not received the MRI scan results which is completely ridiculous as I can feel my symptoms getting worse. My doctor and the urgent care center has also tried multiple times to contact them but could not reach them. I have also tried calling them and have not been able to connect to anyone. I was finally able to reach them through email and was told they faxed the scan to my doctor, but my doctor has not received anything. I even emailed asking for a digital copy as all they have given me is a CD but nobody in this day and age has a CD player, and they simply asked me to wait until the digital report is faxed. All I have been doing is waiting and I can feel my symptoms getting worse. I really need to talk to my doctor as 2 doctors has already advised this as urgent yet Westwood Open MRI is simply asking me to wait and taking their time. I do not recommend at all. Disappointed and shocked at the lack of diligence and responsiveness for a medical service. read more

I had an MRI here on my shoulder. My experience at the facility was pretty simple and uneventful. The techs were good at explaining the procedure and I felt comfortable during the MRI. It was a bit concerning that they weren't willing to give me any paperwork when I checked out an, stating I was a "cash patient" and would have to call the billing department the following week for that. I did call the billing department, and was given a really hard time by the woman I spoke to, saying I wasn't allowed to get reimbursed by my health share since I got the special cash price. I explained that $450 is a chunk of change, regardless of whether I got a special discount, and I have the right to have my medical receipts and records. I stated I simply needed paperwork to submit against my yearly deductible/share- I wasn't getting a reimbursement, just wanted the credit. She reluctantly said she would mail. A month later, I had not received so I called the office again directly. After speaking to a supervisor, she promised she would handle it for me and make sure I received paperwork. Needless to say, that never happened. To summarize, the actual MRI procedure was fine and easy, the business practices however appear to be a bit unethical and shady and I wouldn't choose to return here again. read more

Immaculately clean facility. Very helpful, supportive staff and technicians. The machine is open at both ends and wide inside, a must to calm people with claustrophobia. Was given in-ear headphones with choice of music to help protect ears from the loudness of MRI. I will only ever get MRIs done here from now on, and will tell anyone I know who needs imaging to come here! Just one negative to mention: there are a few steps down from the hallway to get into the facility. They do have a wheelchair lift [mini-elevator] to get people from the hallway level to facility level. It is a consideration for people with impaired mobility to be aware of and prepared for. read more

I have been to this location at least 4 times. It is the ONLY way to get an MRI. I have tried to be put in the smaller machines with no luck. To tight and my shoulders are squished and with the shoulder problems I have its not possible. The entire experience is very nice. The actual MRI is nice as they cover you with a blanket (sadly due to COVID it isn't warm because that was the best) and they play whatever music you want to hear. If I had any complaint it would be that they are so good about talking to you about how you are doing and how much time is left they always wake me up! I am that comfortable in the machine. if you are needing to find a place that is comforting and gives you a good experience Westwood Open MRI is the BEST! If there were 10 stars I would have selected that! read more
