The scan itself took 7 minutes - I was in and out in under 15 minutes. My only gripe is that I came in fully hydrated and off a fresh meal so I feel as if the body fat% is inaccurate. I have visible abs, so 23% body fat doesn't seem completely accurate.i recommend coming in the morning, fasted, for a more accurate representation of your body fat. I've visited BODYSPEC twice this year. My first visit was in August, and now it's late December. I was really curious to see what changes had happened during this time: whether my muscle percentage had increased and, hopefully, my body fat percentage had decreased. For me, BODYSCAN has been the discovery of the year. It's an incredible tool that helps you understand what your body is made of. Often, we train hard without fully understanding what's happening inside. For example, I work out 2-3 times a week, but my weight hasn't really changed. Thanks to this scan, I realized that it could be because my muscles are growing while my fat is decreasing. The weight stays the same because muscles are heavier than fat, even though my body looks slimmer. By the way, I'll attach a photo to illustrate the difference between 5 pounds of fat and 5 pounds of muscle -- it's mind-blowing! I learned about BODYSPEC from my fitness trainer back in August, shortly after we started training together. She suggested tracking my progress not just visually but also by doing a detailed body composition analysis. This turned out to be extremely helpful, especially in understanding my metabolism and determining the optimal number of calories I can consume daily. Easy to schedule online. The office was right on time when I arrived. Everyone was friendly and efficient. In and out in under 20 minutes, with the report sent to my online account before I arrived home. The parking situation is less than ideal, especially in the mornings that are complicated by Street Sweeping (Wednesdays and Thursdays). A semi-permanent horde of RV's has taken up residence across the street from this location, soaking up a large portion of the limited available street parking. Give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to secure parking if you're driving solo. read more

I got a dexa scan a couple weeks ago in one of their mobile vans that was parked near where I live in Hollywood. The experience was fine, however, I left my ring in the van when I took off some of my jewelry for the scan. I realized nearly immediately, called the service line, and was told that the van had already moved locations and my ring would be brought back to one of the two main locations. Since I don't have a car, I asked if they could either ship the ring to my house or hand it off to an Uber delivery. I offered to pay for both. After numerous phone calls I was told they couldn't do that due to liability concerns. However, they continued to pressure me to pick it up ASAP since they "aren't liable for anything left at their facilities", meaning they're not liable if it gets misplaced in their offices. BUT they are liable if it gets lost in transit? The entire thing was extremely inconvenient and costly for me since their main locations were super far from me. I spent $60 on Ubers and lost 1hr of my time, when the entire issue could've been solved if they would have just let me pay for shipping or Uber courier services. I'm very irritated and probably won't go back for this reason. read more

The scan was fine... in November. Then in February, I started getting a $39 monthly charge that I didn't notice until May. They refunded the last 3 charges but refused to refund all 4. This is a scam company -- no honest business operates like this. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. Their customer support is horrible. Based in Texas -- that's all you need to know. I blocked them after a call I just got. Her attitude was, "We just want to make sure you're happy." No -- I'm not. You owe me money. Her response? "Take it up with your credit card company." She literally said that. When I asked, "What is the purpose of this call? If you're not going to refund everything, why did you call me?" -- she showed her true colors and said, "You sound like an angry man." EXCUSE ME? I am angry. (Getting a dexa scan through this company in general is simple and reliable.) This location specifically, I've visited four times already within the last year. While I've been served by a different staff member each time, everyone has been consistently pleasant and respectful. I like that I get to have an interesting conversation every time, of course always surrounding the topic of health and fitness. The facilities are clean and they wipe down the bed you lie on after every service. The location is conventionally close to the 10, and parking isn't provided but is still easy to find outside of street cleaning hours. Making and changing appointments can be easily done online. I started going to BodySpec the fall of 2023, and back then, I'd get it in a van in downtown. And availability was very limited. I'd book an appt that was two weeks or longer out. Since the opening of this stand alone facility, I've been able to book appt's next day. I'm genuinely so happy to see this company grow.
