The first time my friend and I went was good. On 4/25/26 we received the minority service. I could tell the waitress didn't want us there. I was trying to order my food but she stood behind the bar talking to other customers and employees while I was waiting to order. I have to say the skinny bald guy was very nice. I ordered and waited 42 minutes for my food, I turned on a timer after 15 minutes. They took so long I had to ask for it to go. My friend ordered 10 minutes after me and also waited for 40 plus minutes. She had a salad and received no plasticware in her bag to eat it with. She left her debit card and some man who did not work there was behind the bar and had it while the bartender was in the restroom. I have been going to LPH for over a year and met very kind and friendly people. Discussions have been a broad spectrum, and I am very aware what this audience is - and have never had a problem. For one specific Male regular, almost every meeting, he pushes his political opinion on me (specifically) because I wear rainbow attire and represent as an Ally - which he links with "Liberal." When I had a sober rebuttal he didn't agree with, HE attacked me verbally with vile sexual innuendo "you need a 12-inch c*ck in your mouth to shut you up" This happened while I was sober, drinking water and watching the Dodger game. This happened and was repeated in presence of the female bartender SHANNON and two other MALE regulars. Without any help from the bartender, I was ushered out and the angry regular was allowed to stay. This person continued to repeat a false narrative to like-minded "good ole' boys" and turned the story around posing me as not only the aggressor, but used a sensitive subject to make it a hostile & unsafe environment for me. I came here the day after my birthday to enjoy breakfast with my husband. I live right by it, had never tried it, and saw that this place had good reviews. I had mistakenly left my ID at home, so I went home, and got it. I did not know it was a whole bar as I was mainly going for the food, which I why I suggested if I could sit at a table of sitting at the bar (where I was) instead. She replied very hostile, which is fine, I understand now it's a bar and I'm a server myself so I understand the rules. I came back with my ID and started off with a water and asked for the menu. She immediately started describing how long the food takes to come out and just overall started discouraging me from ordering food? It's 12:00 in the afternoon and every person in the "bar" is enjoying lunch. Every person had food in front of them, and even others weren't drinking alcohol. I felt immediately judged the moment I walked in, as the bartender didn't even greet us with a "hi welcome in" but instead "ID's". So then when I didn't have mine because I accidentally left it but came back, I was treated like a freak or something. I'm unsure why she kept emphasizing that she has to check ID's with her managers literally standing there, but then discouraged us from ordering food and spending money with her managers right there?? Makes no sense, and after we leave ahead of course starts talking bad about us to other guests. I should have done more research, cause according to other comments after scrolling to see if anyone else endured this type of service, there has been other instances of rude and terrible treatment. Regardless, coming from a server, advice would be to treat everyone with kindness so you don't loose out on business and tips. We came at 9:20 am on a Sunday to have breakfast. I orders the Monte Christo (deconstructed) and the cook Johnny came out to talk to me about my preferences. Impressive! And his food was delicious. Hubby ordered the Sammy and it looked amazing! The service here is average, and very friendly even though it's slow going. It's a bar mainly with only a few tables for diners. Ambiance is very loud. Not a place for a romantic brunch, so go somewhere else if that's what you're looking for! The bartender was holding it down while she was alone and made sure you got your money's worth for the drink you're about to enjoy. The Cuban sandwich was freaking delicious. Stars didn't change but wanted to update. They no longer offer the Wednesday spaghetti to go. The "owner" claims it was always dine in only. You only have like 5 tables and a bar and it's so loud in there you can't even order a drink without screaming. I have been coming here for years but honestly they will survive without me. I have ordered the spaghetti to go probably 25-30 times but I guess according to the owner it was never supposed to be to go. I have icy hot patches all over my legs.. well we were with a party of six. We ended up at cactus Cantina. The bill was $210 and we tipped our server 70.. This restaurant gets beyond zero.. As soon as we walked through the door, we were being corralled back out...I also being a bartender of 12+ years would not come back to this establishment for simply being treated poorly when it could've been handled with better decorum for something that was merely a small mistake. When you enter you're greeted with a group of locals at the bar and a lot of seating. There's was one bartender on the weekday. We decided on a high table and we're given menu instantly. In order to get the bottomless you have to order food which is responsible haha. She gave us a bottle of champs with two glasses and a side of orange juice to create it to our liking which is with an essence of orang juice. The waffles were fresh and so good!
