I took two blinds in for cleaning and they did not clean them. My husband was told they just do dusting not cleaning. That is not what the website states. In response to the owner, when we talked today, we were told since our blinds were old they might have a problem cleaning them. Our blinds are 5-6 years old and very high quality blinds. We were amazed with the cleaning they did of our kitchen shade. We have 3 shades in our kitchen with one near the cooking so it catches all the grease and food splashes. We tried hand washing, but no luck and finally decided to try Shine A Blind thinking they probably couldn't do it. They were not sure but they said it might be able to take out some of it. We thought, since our specific color is no longer made, we would have to buy 3 new blinds. So, we had them try. When we picked up the shade, we were shocked. We could not see any stains. It looked new. A clue: we drove our blind to them. They will pick up, but it is a lot more expensive ($50 versus $200 additional for pickup and delivery.).However, the price does include taking down and putting up the shades, so if you aren't handy, it is worth paying the extra. Very happy with their service. Front desk person also very nice and efficient. And, they completed quickly and when promised. read more

My faux blinds were dirty with grime even after multiple efforts from me to clean them. At some point I feel I needed professional help. I searched around and asked for quotes from 3-4 companies. I have 12 blinds and among the companies I reached out to Shine-A-Blind was the most cost effective with fixed rate and the other big benefit being they clean with ultrasound on site with a truck whereas most other companies wanted to take the blinds and return them in a week. Other companies even did not give me a fixed price and quoted lengths of blinds, age of blinds which mean that I was signing up for a unknown price. Shine-A-Blind was cost effective even after paying a surcharge of 75$ because I was outside their service area of Edmonds but even with that, it was 2/3rd of the price of other companies. So, first reason, very cost effective. The team came out at the right time (probably a little early) which speaks of their professionalism. They wore shoe covers throughout their journey in the house. The moment I pointed out the blinds to them, they started dismantling with no issues (I told they were professionals), marked the blinds so that they knew which ones they went back on (different sizes right) and took them out to the truck. It does take couple of hours for 12 various size blinds (big, medium, small mixture) and once they finished, they were like new and so spic and span. They fitted them like a charm and finished the job like pros. Last but not the least, they have ability to get paid by Cards or check and to top it out they have Apple/Google pay which is smart and hands free which also generated a bill and receipt for me. Super cool team. P.S: They also do blind repairs and installation. I have not used that but with my experience, I would like to highly recommend them. read more

About 30 years go we moved into a house located in Edmonds, WA and most of the blinds were a disaster and at that time we couldn't afford new so I found Shine-a-Blind in our local directory which was then run out of a mans basment. He fixed al our blinds as good as new at a very reasonable cost. Those blinds lasted many years and finally we were able to buy all new blinds for our house. Now another 15 years down the road (30+ total) we started to have some strings break. Somehow when looking online I remembered the name. They now have a very nice office on 196th just west of 76th in Edmonds. The company is now run by his kids who gave the same great service at a very reasonable price. I contacted Shine A Blind for an estimate on blinds for 3 sliding glass doors. I had to reschedule the first appointment because my elderly Mother was ill. I then made another appointment for the consultant to come to the home to go over options and take measurements. On the day of the consultants arrival I was not feeling all that well as. I had been going back and forth to the hospital to see my Mother. I was exhausted. I told the woman this after inviting her into my house. She seemed alarmed and asked "you don't have COVID do you? I don't want to get sick, I have to work". OK, understandable, but adding a little compassion would have been nice. Like "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." BTW I did have a mask on. As she entered the house and began climbing the stairs, she looks around and says, without prompting, "I'm assuming that you want the least expensive blinds?" Now, my home is not in the community of Broadmoor but I don't think it screams "cheap ". I was a little stunned. She went around and did her measurements and then gave me a brochure to look at. As she is pointing to one type of vertical blinds she says " you probably want to look at these (or this page) because the others are expensive. " Now, come on, really? At this point I started to feel worse and I asked if she could come back and go over the brochures. She said that was fine but I would have to call to reschedule (not sure why someone couldn't call me, but no matter). Then she hurried to the door and says " I want to get out of here before you faint on me". It was a very weird experience. I didn't expect her to nurse me back to health but geez I live alone and an "I'm sorry" or " I hope you feel better " would demonstrate some humanity. I never called her back and she never put out the effort to contact me. So, that's my experience with this company. It's too bad that they send out someone like that as a representative. Honest, family owned company. We scheduled Shine A Blind to come to our home and clean all of our cellular blinds. Upon examining our blinds, they very honestly told us that they did not think our blind discoloration was due to dirt, but age. They could have just quietly cleaned everything, taken our money, and left us unhappy... but that is not how this company does business. Shine A Blind is located in a residential neighborhood. The first time I drove there I thought Yelp had made a mistake and that this was a bogus address. It's not. It exists in a residential neighborhood. The business is adjacent to their residence, in what would've been their garage. Shine A Blind is owned by a nice older couple. I've interacted with Elaine a lot more than her husband but her husband did warn me that my head was going to be hit by their door opening one time when I was paying so I know he's a kindred spirit, too. No, really, I like these people. I've only gone for re-string service. It's $16.50 per cord (or coil?). So depending on how big of a shade you have, that'll determine how much cord is needed, and ultimately how much it'll cost. The smaller shade we brought in was way cheaper than their competitor in Woodinville's pricing. So, no more trips to Woodinville! I'm happy I found this company and would recommend them to my (Yelp) friends. PS. Cash or check only. PPS. They have a cat. PPPS. The south end of their street is a dirt road, unpaved. Jordan and Peter were here about a week and a half ago and repaired a large, lined, wooden blind that was hanging lopsided. That was an expensive blind, but they fixed it without even having to take the blind entirely down. They also cleaned my cloth, vertical blinds which hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time. The blinds came out looking great! There was a bit of a hitch with the blinds not being aligned, but the guys came back the next day and made it right. Have you ever thought about your blinds lately? You bought them ten years ago and really, except for an attempt to clean them using some "Made for Television" product, they continue to stay dirty. The strings catch or break. Yet you leave them alone because, while it seems simple enough, you don't really know where to start. I'd like to suggest using Shine A Blind. First, they know blinds and how to clean them. Second, you can take your blinds in or they will come to you. Third, they are very easy to deal with, their prices are excellent, and they will investigate repairing any problems before replacing to keep costs down. Ryan set up the appointment and helped me figure out what I needed to do and how much I would pay. Akeem and Joey came over when Ryan said they would and the job was finished quickly with superior results. They did an excellent job of helping me to understand what was happening. Plus, my dog and two cats liked them. I can't overemphasize how comfortable I felt with their service and support. My blinds look shiny and new which was the whole point of this exercise.
