Michael @Shine My Glass is the best power-washing/outdoor cleaning service in the Hill Country!! I called Michael in a huge rush because when we got up to paint my Daughter's Senior parking spot at school we had a big surprise: the prior paint was the wrong kind of paint it was bubbling and chipping in tiny pieces. Paint stripper had to be applied and now we needed to rinse it off with a quickness as to not disturb the other student's fresh paint (the spots next to her were not yet painted). Not only that there's no water source at the school and we were about to resort to 5 gallon buckets of rinsing water. We would have, but we also had a jam packed week and very little time to get up there before the other painters got started. Michael answered my call (which is amazing in itself) and heard the urgency in my voice. Even though he had a very busy day at work he did everything he could to come out and assess the situation. By the time I got there he had power washed the area very thoroughly. I told him thank you I really appreciate you and I expected him to leave. He did not. When my Daughter showed up a little while later Michael was there on his hands and knees peeling/chipping off paint with me. He stayed to help us for a very long time and also very very thoroughly power washed the whole parking spot again just because he wanted to help us. What a kind, considerate man who came to us out of the kindness of his heart, in the heat, and stayed to help us far longer than we ever expected because he wanted to. We are so extremely grateful for Michael and the work he does. We definitely made a friend that day. As a Realtor I will refer Shine My Glass to all of my Listing Clients in the future. Early last fall, I began researching companies to install our Christmas lights. After contacting 8 companies, Mike had the best prices and it was also important to me that I kept my lights. I feel that companies that do not allow you to keep your lights are renting them to you each year and if you want to go with another company, you do not have that option. Initially, I was told if I paid in September, I would be one of the first neighborhoods on the list and I was also assured that my lights would be installed prior to Thanksgiving and that did not happen. Things I did not know then, that I now know are that Mike's main business is a contractor and lights and etc are put aside if emergencies arise, which a couple had. Also, because he sends out invoices to prior customers first, then schedules by neighborhood based on payments received, that also affected when my lights were installed. I am not going to lie, I was given specific dates and I followed up and kept getting excuses and because I also lack patience and I take people at their word, I had my husband contact him and literally days before I was going to hire another company, our lights were installed. I was out of town during installation, but when I arrived back in town around 10pm, my jaw literally dropped when turned the corner. I felt our house was a classier version of the Griswolds. It was definitely worth the wait and we got loads of compliments from everyone. After getting to know Mike, he really is a cool dude and my husband and I really like him. We appreciate his work so much we hired him to install yard lights and have also recommended him to several other people. read more

They were in and out in a flash and he was also able to remove paint that another window cleaning company left behind (I was told it was 'inaccessible'). UPDATE TO YOUR RESPONSE... "Its unfortunate that we were unable to accommodate your design request. We did message each other over the past few weeks but in conclusion we felt it would be better to reimburse you so we could continue focusing on the clients that are more prepared and dont expect last minute changes." This is in no way truthful or accurate Mike. There were no last minute changes. About a month after we had paid in full...in advance...for your services, I asked what it would cost if we were to add in the sidewalks. Due to it being an additional $500, I said thanks, but we will stick with what we originally agreed to and paid for. Not a single thing changed. What DID change was you telling us that unless we spent more money and did more than just our roofline in Christmas lights, you were refunding my money. In fact, here are your exact words..."I am going to go ahead and refund you your money for this project. I am not comfortable with doing only the roofline because my company has its name on the design. We can revise a new work order (ie: spend more money) or try again next year." So, in fact, Mike...YOU are the one who was trying to change what we had agreed on...not me. Not only are you not a man of your word, Mike, apparently you are a bold faced liar as well. I am more than happy to attach our entire string of texts to prove this. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mike came recommended, and I'm sure he is excellent at what he does. He just has absolutely zero integrity or is a man of his word. We decided to splurge this Christmas since my 90 year old mom will be with us and it will most likely be her last Christmas. I contracted Mike on October 25th to hang Christmas lights for us after he had sent over a proposal for $411 to do our roofline. I agreed to all of his terms and paid him the $411 with a text from him stating he would have them in "sometime in November" which I was fine with. I texted him on Nov 22nd to check on his timing and stated that we may want to add some more lights and asked what the price would be. I had asked about wrapping our trees, but he said since he hadn't previously purchased the tree lights, he wouldn't be able to the trees. Our other option was to do our sidewalks, but that came to $500 as we are set back quite a ways from the street. So I told him we would pass on that but stay with our original order from a month ago. I reached out again on the 22nd to see if he would be able to get to us by the 29th as we were hosting a party and I'd love to have them in by then. He pulled over to the side of the road to look at our order and his schedule, and said that he would let his assistant know that he would have our lights installed by the 29th. On Thanksgiving evening, Nov 26th, he texted me and said, "I am going to go ahead and refund you your money for this project. I am not comfortable with doing only the roofline because my company has its name on the design. When you are a little more confident in wrapping trees (which he told me previously we were too late in asking) or getting some walkways done then I will be interested. I feel like our conversation was not 100% clear. We can revise a new work order (ie: spend more money) or try again next year." To say I was speechless is an understatement. I begged him to please honor the contract we had had in place for a month, because at this late date, there is no way we can find anyone to get this done. I reminded him of our conversation in case he had me confused with someone else. I reminded him that this was something very special we were doing for my mom and how important it was to me for him to complete the job he had agreed to do a month ago and that I had paid for a month ago. His response, "Please stop harassing me." I have never in my life been so shell shocked. Business is off the chart and he has people clambering at his door, but he clearly had the opportunity to make more money with someone else and literally kicked us to the curb. I own my own business as well, and have a completely different set of work ethics than Mike obviously does. I'm sure he's good at what he does, but just be forewarned that his word is not to be trusted. read more

Contacted Mike at Shine My Glass to install lights for Christmas. Called him last minute for first time install. He came out quickly, met with us, gave us a fair quote and stuck to his installation time as promised... actually finished a day early! Lights are beautiful and photo doesn't do them justice! Honest company and a man of his word-how refreshing in this day and age! We have already booked for next year and will even expand more. He does more than lights too! Excellent work. Shinemyglass.com did the best job of window cleaning that I have ever had at any house I have owned. Window clearer spent hours meticulously cleaning each pane, inside and out. He also cleaned the ridges around the windows, which exceeded my expectations. Mike power washed my fence a couple weeks ago, and I wanted to wait a little bit to write this review, because I needed to verify something. Engineers will get this: lightening the wood has decreased the radiant heat in my yard, and on my house, so my electric bill has dropped about 30 kwh from the week preceding Mike doing this job, while the outside temperature went *up* 3-5 degrees that same week. It may not be a huge savings in the one month, but for the rest of the summer, it will add up, and the following few summers since he clear coated it to keep the mildew at bay. Friendly, friendly and friendly guy. My wife hired this guy as a referral from our solar screen installer, and wow is he nice, good with our kids and boy does he work hard. It was so hot outside when he came to clean the windows, and he acted like it was no big deal and just worked and worked on our windows to make them look perfect and as clean as he could. We were so impressed. I mean he was so cordial and nice with our kids, that it was just refreshing to see a guy (all by himself, let me add), sweating his tush off, but yet in such a great mood and spirit. He cleaned the inside and outside of our windows, and we weren't remotely worried about having him in our home going from room to room to clean the inside of our windows. Not to sound overly paranoid, but we are not too hip on letting just anyone into our house, people that we don't know and certainly don't have a trusting relationship with. We actually have a friend that got robbed some years back in South Austin, and the thief turned out to be the employee of a plumber they hired. I mean you just never know, right? I always size people up before I let them in my home, and with the internet, if you know the name of the service person coming to your home, it's really easy using their name to look them up. The safety of my family is just way too important to me to not be paranoid about who is coming to my home. While Mike was cleaning our windows, our neighbor stopped by and he has an enclosed patio porch that has some tears in the wire fabric, and Mike told him that he can do that as well. I guess so, as he does work for a screen company as well. So while Mike hasn't done the work yet, I feel confident from getting to know him that he will do a good job. I didn't think my windows could look this good. They are 24 years old and have never had much love but Mike has this thing figured out. They hadn't been washed for 7 years and I have 3 little kids. The tracks were gnarly but they came clean. Plus, surprise, I had overspray but Mike has his ways. It took a lot of elbow grease.
