We have used Avery Handyman Services for a variety of projects over the past three years. Some of which were straightforward, others required real problem solving skills. These projects involved carpentry, electrical repairs, appliance repairs, and the installation of wall fixtures. In one instances, we were experience dust appearing on a table overnight everyday. We had an AC person come int but he could not find the source or the dust. We have a pest control person investigate; he too failed. Lewis is super-competent and a pleasure to work with. I bought a 40-year-old house that was showing its age. I originally interviewed him to add some exhaust fans in the bathrooms and kitchen. I quickly saw that he was capable of much more. He found creative ways to route the exhaust through the attic to soffit vents, brought the kitchen hood exhaust up through the roof, and showed great attention to detail. In parallel, he assembled a team to completely remodel a bathroom, and partially remodel another. Every other person he brought in was a true craftsman, including the tile team, the painters, and plumber. And Lewis himself did lots of excellent hands-on work. He is a trained electrician, so he was able to install new light fixtures and fans throughout, replace old electrical switches and outlets, and help with appliances during my kitchen remodel. By the end of it, our house looked fantastic. And I enjoyed talking with Lewis about any number of topics... whether solving a house problem, preparing for a mountain hike, or traveling the world. I just moved into a new clinic space, and needed a resistance band exercise station mounted on the wall in my rehab room. Essentially a 4x8 cabinet-grade plywood sheet mounted on metal studs, with 2 anchor brackets mounted to it. I submitted bid requests to several handymen on Yelp, and Lewis was the first to respond -- like, right away. He asked excellent questions about my project, quick response time on my questions, and did my install 2 days later. He is a meticulous worker -- measuring twice, cutting once. He made sure this station was mounted securely, and informed me that each of the 6 mounting screws he used had a load limit of 100 lbs (plennnnnnty of load to spare!). Perhaps the most best reflection of his work ethic is that he picked me out an absolutely GORGEOUS piece of wood. He said he went through at least 20 sheets to find a perfect one for me. Incredibly pleased with Avery and the work he did. He responded same day as my quote request and within a day we had the details worked out and he was scheduled to the end of the week. He was easy to communicate with via text and arrived promptly with a notification that was nice to see. He got right to work did some additional review mad measurements then got supplies. He was here all day and did fantastic work. The entire time he wore a mask, was virtually a church mouse with the noise (not sure how he used a hammer and a nail gun!!), courteous, and made sure he took his shoes off or wore booties when necessary. Best of all the results were spot on with what I needed. Trim work, cabinet work, garbage disposal replacement. It all turned out great it was worth turning it over to someone else to get it done and timely. I was also very pleased with the price I thought it was more than fair. Hi everyone, I'm writing this review 02/21/21. Many of us are in terrible situations right now. Broken pipes, no water, no available appointments for plumbing and many other unfortunate things. Lewis just repaired my water pipe. Our family was without water for many days. When water was on my water pipe showed a bad leak. I was frantically looking for a plumber. Lewis has taken my phone call at once. I believe he was sent for my family's rescue by an angel. My family is so grateful for repairs done by him. I would give 10 stars for his plumbing service, care and help. He has not hesitated to take my job request at difficult times when plumbing companies are overwhelmed by requests and telephone calls for help.
