    Cold/ hard donuts
    Krystella Z.

The donuts were cold and donut holes were for sure old! Will never return . This is not the first time !

Day old donut served at 6:30am

Trash, got donuts at 630am and there was a line of cars 15 deep and the donuts were still cold. I'm convinced they're selling day old donuts from the previous day because they just opened at 6am

There really is no substitute for Shipley. Currently living on the East Coast, Dunkin' Donuts are a dime a dozen and they serve their purpose but don't really offer much to excited about. Krispy Kreme offers tasty goodness - especially when you get the donuts hot off the conveyor belt - but they're hard to come by and leave you in a sugar coma each time. Shipley, however, offers tastiness, a variety of donuts, solid kolaches, and all without leaving you too weighed down or overly sugared up. The drive thru at this location is a popular choice but the staff inside are also awesome, hardworking, efficient, and friendly. Also, I like to go in and eyeball what I'm considering buying so I don't parttake of the drive thru to be able to comment on its efficiency. This location is older and not modern/slick but that doesn't faze me. All I know is whenever I'm back down in East Houston, I look forward to hitting up this Shipley Do-Nut!

Gnat that was stuck to the Kolache.

It's a shame when the best kolaches in Texas come from a place that can't keep their restaurant clean. For real, this location has better Kolaches than any other Shipley's. Anyhow. Picture to follow of a gnat baked onto the outside of the bread. Full disclosure: I still ate that sucker. I mean we went though the drive through and want going back.

My go-to place for Shipley's has always been this location. They're 24 hours, quick service and majority of the time their donuts always taste fresh. However, there was recently a news clip that said they failed an inspection as there were concerns with them reusing leftover donuts and cooking without gloves. I was a bit leery at first but today I went by around 10pm and all "appeared" to be good from the drive thru window. The service is always nice and I always witness the workers making the donuts with gloves. Today was no different. Donuts were good so I'll continue my business.

These guys beat Krispy Kreme's and Dunkin' Donuts. The drive-thru is really narrow. It's almost an impossible squeeze for a standard F-150.

Their selection ranges from classic glazed to unique flavors, each crafted with precision and care. I tried their Red Velvet donut, which was delightfully moist with a rich flavor. The texture was soft, light, and not overly sweet--just the right balance. Their sausage and cheese kolaches are also highly recommended, offering a savory contrast to the sweet offerings. The shop itself is clean, bright, and inviting, with friendly staff who provide quick, attentive service. Prices are reasonable, making it easy to indulge without breaking the bank. Updating my review to stay up with the times…read more I've been on a health kick lately so I rarely splurge on donuts -- or desserts for that matter. Still, I bring my son to Robin's on a regular basis. It's sort of become our place. My son loves everything he tries here and often asks for more -- whether kolaches or donuts. And me? Well, I can't help but cave on the Mardi Gras donuts. They are sooooo good. I had one last week - and another today. It makes me wish that Mardi Gras was year round. When we are in the shop, I see the same faces. It speaks volumes when you see the same regulars coming in. Peeps know what they like! Yes, the place gets busy. And sometimes you have to wait. That's actually a small price to pay for amazing delectables. If you haven't been - stop by! Robin, Brandon, Kayla, and Hung will take great care of you -- and you'll leave both full and with a smile on your face!!

The young man behind the counter was super sweet and helpful in helping me make my decision. There were just too many options for me to make up my mind. I decided to order an iced coffee to compliment my Donuts, and I was told this was one of their most popular drinks, I see why, it was creamy sweet and delicious. Next time I'm in the area, I will be stopping by snowflake Donuts and try something else, who knows maybe I'll even have a seat at one of their tables next time to just relax and enjoy.

I don't get the cravings often, but sometimes I just want an apple fritter and most all donut spots close early in the day. That is where Voodoo holds the advantage. They stay open late. You will always get a long line during late night hours at any of their locations around town. They are known for their wacky donut creations. Things like a voodoo doll donut, grape flavored donuts or even a donut shaped like a blunt. In my opinion, all the crazy flavors are either way too sweet or are just doing too much. Give me a regular glazed donut or an apple fritter or something along those lines. They also do a buttermilk bar that is outstanding. The vibes are great at this location. They always got some good music going on and the staff are always friendly and match the vibes of the store. It's a great option when the donut cravings hit late at night.

In fact, when friends visit from out of town I'm going to take them to this (and only this) location to experience Shipley in its best form. When I tell you, all the I's are dotted and the t's are crossed at this location I mean it! I truly wouldn't be surprised if they trained new franchise owners at this very location because pretty much everything is elevated or on point. Pup in tow I chose the drive-thru. Pulling up to the order speaker I was greeted with an automated we'll be with you shortly message. After placing and receiving my order I opened the box and nearly audibly gasped. I've ordered one too many Shipleys Bullseyes in my day, but I've yet to see one that looked this perfect. The middle seemed piped. I also ordered two cake donuts, a buttermilk for now and blueberry for later. Both were delightful! The slight language barrier at the receiving window had me a bit worried, but this spot delivered. I'll be back on my next cheat day!

Beignet - Surprising hit. They are made fresh to order and it was actually my favorite thing from our experience there. Donuts - The batter used made the donuts not quite as light as Krispie Kreme and had a bit more of a bounce/chew to it. The donuts are definitely better when slightly warmed up for a few seconds. Their glaze is where I think the donuts fell short for me though. It had a nice crispy texture but there is a slight added fragrance to it that I found distracting. I can't quite put my finger on what that fragrance is, you can't necessarily taste it but you can definitely smell it. The other non-glazed donuts like maple didn't have the fragrance but the maple flavor was a bit too mild. Jelly and cream ones were OK, were very filled. Kolache - Got the plain sausage one and it was nothing special. The sausage tasted like a breakfast sausage you'd get from a complementary breakfast at a hotel and then wrapped in bread. Would not get again. Americano - Pretty good, went well with the sweets. Overall not bad but I feel like we've had better donuts elsewhere. The fragrance in the glaze was off putting though and that made me quite disappointed.
