I've been coming to this store for years now. I have kids, and I've noticed there's an employee with long blond hair that goes to the restroom pretty frequently. One morning I was there with my kids, they used the restroom after her, and when they came back my kids told me the restroom smelled funky. When I checked what they meant...well, I noticed it was weed. Not point out fingers at her, but it's not the 1st time this happens. It's not only in the morning but later in the day. That kind of behavior is really unacceptable and unprofessional. Is the owner not aware of this? No wonder why she always has an attitude towards customers. This is a good classic donut place. The yeast doughnut is respectable. Make sure you get them early in the day because as the day goes, they begin to be a little weathered. Some of their special donuts look really incredible. I know this is a chain that is around the area and easy to find and you have the same quality at all locations. read more

Meh. Donuts at Shipley's is just okay to me. Texas seems to love them and I keep trying to like them but their service is always semi and the donuts and kolaches are just okay. I can't pinpoint it but to each their own. The heart donut was cute though and this location at least is nicely decorated and looks clean. read more

My experience at this Shipley's was HORRIBLE!!!! The ladies did not greet us as we approached the drive thru, they only stared at us looking at us as if something was wrong. We ordered one kolache and was charged for two kolaches. When we asked for our money back, they claimed the manager was not available and they could not give us our money back. If I could give 0 stars I would. Yesterday morning my wife asked do they have hot doughnuts. They young lady said they don't make new doughnuts until they sell out of the ones already on the shelf. I visit this shop often as it is on my way to work (I have a long drive and often need a snack). Most donut shops I go to it seems like the staff are going through the motions but I love the staff at this shop. They give me a warm greeting everytime, they even remember me and share a few kind words before I take off for my day! I have also noticed that the donuts here are always as fresh as possible and that the manager is very much a stickler for quality, it's nice to see someone care about their craft. I definitely recommend the fresh hot glazed donut if you can make it there early enough. It's like eating a cloud! I give a high recommendation for this donut shop. read more

These donuts are pretty good! Their texture is close in density to Krispy Kremes, but with a slightly more cake-like quality. The icing tastes better than Krispy Kremes, in my opinion. I had a creme-filled and chocolate frosted donut, and the creme filled was the better of the two. The creme was slightly less sweet than the creme they put inside the "manager's special" donuts at Dunkin, for reference. My husband said the coffee was just "OK." Overall, we'd get these again for a Sunday Morning treat :) read more

For some reason the donuts are not as "crispy" as they should be like the blueberry cake and cinnamon cake. I'm not sure if it's just today but seems a little inconsistent from other Shipley's. The staff is really nice and love their attitude. Fast and friendly but the quality of donuts is u like other venues. The glazed donuts are super thick ... Not as crispy as others and that's due to the heavier glaze they use. I find myself always always having to clean the glaze off myself when they are hot and when the glaze has settled, I have to scrape it off. Too much glaze. Expect cold donuts at 7:00.
