What can I say? They are always happy and eager to help when somebody comes in. They know their products they know where they're located. It's a family owned business which I absolutely adore and treasure especially nowadays I don't like walking into what I call the beast. I like family owned private stores. They have animal food for I think it just about every single breed of animal out there. They have a website that you can go onto and place an order as well which is wonderful. That's a legend. i was there yesterday with my dog have been there in the past , last time we called we requested please do not cut the top of our dogs hair we like his little mohawk, and she forgot and she cut it, I was PISSED! so this time is made sure to call the night before and make sure to ask her pleae no not cut the top of my dogs hair PLEASE because last time you did and I asked you not to please don't touch the top of his hair please, when pickling him up guess what, the top of his hair is cut . i am noot happy at all I can I understand one time but I called the day before his appointment and asked please do not cut the top of his hair, PLEASE cause you did it last time , and we can't glue the hair back on. not happy at all willl not be coming back, the rest of the hair cut was good which is why I didn't come back and say anything but! if a customer asks and you cant do that just simply say that, I could of taken him somewhere else ! i called the night before and if you couldn't deliver you could of simply just said I have to cut the dogs top or I cut the dogs top unfortunately I would of taken him somewhere else but disregarding my request is not ok. Shirley Feed is a store which carries food, medicines, straw, hay, etc, for most animals. The staff is pleasant and helpful. None of the staff are wearing mask. Yet they have a sign on the door that says respect social distancing. Unbelievable! And also do yourself a favor by double checking your receipts. This place is known for overcharging. When they overcharge you and you bring it to their attention they actually have the nerve to get upset about it rather than apologizing and realizing that they have a problem with overcharging. Shirley Feed is selling an inferior product of fish box straw cat shelters than it used to sell (the tried & true black strap shelters). BUT THEY'RE STILL CHARGING THE SAME OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH PRICES. The latest straw shelters are skimpy on the straw and MUST BE USED WITH LARGE PLYWOOD OVERHEAD in order to keep rain, snow out and the duct tape dry to prevent slipping of all plastic wrap. ****This is a special problem for senior, disabled, and property non-ownership caregivers **** Shirley Feed has also refused to issue any refund without that 1" receipt they give you, and they have made numerous excuses and played the blame game with the maker of the new shelters. A warning to anyone with the new type shelters with thinner plastic and 4 pieces of duct tape dependent around entrances, CHECK FOR WATER INTAKE AND WET OR FROZEN STRAW DAILY! Trying to prevent feral cat illness and death may need to repurchase these shelters every time rain or bad weather has passed if you cannot carry, purchase or use large & heavy sheets of plywood when placing the shelters for cat use. Purchase more straw, too, adding to costs, time and energy, another $40.00 on top of $35.00 each box shelter. read more

I have been going here for years. I buy my bird seed here (for my bird feeders) and the prices are good. They package their own small bags of seed so I am sure that keeps the costs down. Sometimes I buy cat food here too. The place is clean and they will help carry heavy bags to your car. And they will help with advice about your pets as well. read more

I was a customer for decades until recently. I finally decided that their rude and arrogant behavior toward the customers was no longer worth the convenience of shopping there. The guy who runs it is an obnoxious jackass. Heaven forbid someone enter that place ten or fifteen minutes before closing. Anyone who does, has to deal with stupid remarks from him and other employees while shopping in the dark. They will actually turn out the lights on you while still within their own stated business hours! One time in particular, I had brought my mother, who was terminally ill there so she could show me what food her cat needs. Not only have I gotten expired dog food from this place, but I came in here looking for a higher quality kibble for my dog and mentioned she was being fed raw and was ripped apart by the cashier. She kept repeating how she rescues dogs and she would NEVER feed them raw.
