The prices are higher than Lowe's or Home Depot but again (from me); supporting local business is important and something I am willing to spend a bit more for. It is awfully convenient to have this size of store in little ole Pendleton...smaller than a big box but large enough to carry whatever your home improvement needs are. Today I was costing fertilizer and the price was just slightly higher than Home Depot. Good enough for me. There isn't a ton of staff there but the place is never too busy either.

A generic v-shaped metal brace to keep our American flag from breaking its plastic base in high winds was needed. Tim, the customer service man on duty, immediately walked me to the selection. The flag is now secured for a few bucks. Instead of having to buy a box of ten or twenty our local True Value will sell you one or a couple as needed.

They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. When the coupon was scanned at checkout, it showed that it had **scanned successfully**. However, we were then told that the coupon had supposedly already been used, even though we knew that it had not been. Instead of taking the time to look into the issue, explain what may have happened, or offer any kind of assistance, both the cashier and the supervisor were rude and dismissive. What made the situation even more frustrating was the supervisor stating that he was **"not going to lose his job over a 20% discount."** We were not asking anyone to risk their job or break store policy. We were simply asking for someone to investigate why a valid coupon was being rejected after the register indicated that it had scanned successfully. The way the situation was handled made us feel as though we were being treated like we were trying to do something dishonest rather than customers experiencing an issue with their system. There was very little effort made to help resolve the problem, and the attitude we received was unnecessary and unprofessional. Even if the employees were unable to override the coupon themselves, they could have explained the situation respectfully, and contacted someone for assistance. We ultimately contacted Harbor Freight corporate ourselves. **Corporate reviewed the situation, confirmed that our coupon was in fact valid, and gave us the money we would have saved by using the 20% off coupon.** I appreciate that Harbor Freight corporate made the situation right. However, it is extremely disappointing that we had to escalate something that could have been handled professionally at the store. The fact that corporate confirmed our coupon was valid makes the rude and dismissive treatment from both the cashier and supervisor even more frustrating. Customer service does not mean employees have to break company policy, but it should mean treating customers respectfully and making a reasonable effort to help resolve a legitimate problem. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at the Anderson location on August 25th at 7:00 p.m.

They carry selections of electrical, plumbing, hardware, paint and lumber. Prices are ok for convenience in the small town of Edinburgh. I find the staff helpful and friendly. Today, I picked up sandpaper. Prices were comparable to big box store prices. They make keys. They had just gotten in a selection of colorful fall mums for $6.99. Garden supply is limited but adequate including wheel barrows and yard tools. There is also a selection of trendy gear such as Yeti. They even carry a modular garage. They also rent larger equipment like trench diggers. The free popcorn is at the back of the store!
