I've been reading most of the reviews and surprise to me, the 1 stars are surprisingly accurate. I went there today with my team to order food after a long day of work. It was not busy in there whatsoever. Come to find out they lost 2 orders and the rest took over an hour to make EACH. It was as if they had 1 single person working in the back which just isn't true at all because I saw 3 back there. I won't ever be coming back to this place again. I could drive to LA, stop for food, and drive back in the same amount of time it took for EVERYONE that ordered to get their food. Good pizza is hard to find outside of New Jersey/New York. I've mentioned before it's probably the water that makes it good, along with the homemade sauce and ingredients. I tried their buffalo chicken and BBQ chicken pizza last night. The slices are filling, most likely because of the dense cheese. The place is relatively large inside equipped with a dance floor, karaoke stage and lots of pool tables. They've got about 10 beers on tap with bottles of other types as well (IPA, lager, light beer, etc). The bar is stocked with everything as well for mixed drinks. Best pizza I've had at Fort Irwin. They also have a great Buffalo Chicken Salad. Very large venue, decently stocked bar. They have a few arcade type games and have several pool tables Shockwave is self-seat and you must order at the bar. The food wait is 35 min on its best day and can be as long as 1.5 hours. I recommend putting a food order in as early as possible when you arrive so you are not waiting as long. Shockwave also has no runners/servers for food, and doesn't have an effective system to notify you when your order is ready. I recommend with reservations. Overall there's not much competition on the installation with few sit down places. read more

This is a business that gets business because it's on a base that is 30 miles from the nearest town. For what it is, it's decent. As far as food delivery to your office or house or barracks, this is a better option than Pizza Hut as far as pizza is concerned. I'll admit that the gyros are pretty good as well. As a sit-down place? The service will most likely irritate you but this is an on-base establishment. It's also a routine place that staff duty and the MPs check every night so this isn't a good place to get rowdy. Pizzas: it's closer to New York style with that oversized flimsy crust. If you're into rolling up your pizzas like most New Yorkers before eating (gross), you should enjoy it. Gyros: you're 30 miles into the high desert. You're in alien abduction territory. Be thankful that someone out here is trying to make and sell gyros. They're not half bad, just slightly better than half good. Burgers: Meh. Lunch buffet is barely a buffet. You get a choice of 3 or 4 pizzas that aren't that different from each other. The inside of this place is a night club but we have the misfortune of seeing it in daylight. There are a few pool tables and arcade games (of which only 1 is in working order - for the last 6 months- so not good for kids Bc they see games but they are broken) again another blahhhh place at fort Irwin. Do you like bar tenders that don't know how to mix? Food that takes way too long? Projector screens that are from your high school class? Then this is the place for you! Being the second bar on this beautiful post has its ups and mostly downs. The ups being you have no competition. The downs, pretty much everything else. I've been here with friends a few times. And have waited for over an hour for food. Not some large outrages order. But a burger and fries. Thankfully the alcohol is cheap, oh wait it's not. I get it. We are in the middle of nowhere so why not drown our sorrows in booze. Just not here. Unless you want foamy beer for 14 bucks. I once ordered an old fashioned which came out to be basically whiskey and an orange peel. It was perfect(no it wasn't). Thankfully the pizza is better than Pizza Hut. The food here is decent. I really like the gyro, and my hubby enjoys the calzones. I do reccoment the Nachos, as they make the chips in house, they're not your typical tortilla chip...but they are simply can cheese and jalapenos. Not gourmet, but great when you are drinking.The girl who delivers...I think her name is Alayna, is very friendly. She is always fast and courtieous. I have never experienced any problems with delivery time, unlike my fellow reviewers. In my experience they are always there BEFORE the estimated deliver time. I havent had their pizza delivered before, but I did have it at an MWR event, and it was very good. I always forget about them when I order pizza. Maybe I need a refridgerator magenet to remind me....but they are BY FAR better than the pizza hut on post. Their burgers could be better, fresher. Pizza and wings are definitely better than Pizza Hut on post. Gyros are terrific! Delivery is USUALLY early. However, the last two times we ordered (including tonight), delivery was late. Tonight was EXCEPTIONALLY late... I was told 1hr to 1hr45mins when I called in the order... after 2 HOURS, we still hadn't received our dinner. When I called, they were apologetic, but said it would be another 15-20mins (so far, it's been 15 mins and I'm STILL waiting for the delivery). We will definitely eat here again, but will either pick it up or expect a crap shoot on the delivery. read more

Shockwave's menu items used to always consist of undercooked dough and soggy chicken, but over the last few months, I would choose Shockwave over Pizza Hut or Burger King any day. Since using a new oven, the pizza always cooks perfectly and the taste has definitely improved. They are not greedy with their mozzarella either, which is an added bonus. If you go by yourself, try the pepperoni calzone and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. Their only downfall is the length of time between ordering and receiving your food. If you are desperate, this place will do. This place is one of the worst managed restaurants I have ever seen. That's why In my four years here I have only gone there three times and always recommended my soldiers not to go there. (An example) My wife and I ordered pizzas for my daughter's birthday party two weeks ahead and on the night before the party we called for a reminder. they said they are not open at that time (1300) and nothing they can do.
