Well... the selection was... not expected to be that slim in either of our sizes... but it was worth stopping in and seeing. I can't personally just purchase shoes without having trying them on... I have wide feet lol so that's a no... I appreciate the option is there but I'm not interested in making more than one trip to not try on the have to come back because what I ordered doesn't work out and then have to place another order- the lessons we learn along the way. It's been a long time, years really. My son wanted to check out their Nike selection. Shoe Carnival offers the expected brands for athletic shoes as well as some popular styles like Hey Dudes. The rest of the shoes reminded me of those I'd have found years ago, classic but also outdated and underwhelming. That's not exactly what I seek in a shoe store. The store is large and carries men's, women's and children's. It also offers clearance shoes in the back row plus several accessories, including socks. Help was offered but no one hovered. Daughter needed new boots, and wanted to go to Shoe Carnival. Walking in, we were not sure what or how to do it. First thing we met was the courtesy desk, 2 attendants, who asked what we needed. Right away, Heather, said they had it, just came in, and then proceeded to take us there, show us what they had. We tried on 6 different boots, varying sizes. Heather was AWESOME!! She worked with my daughter, had patience and was attentive to her needs, and listened and responded, bringing more boots for her to try on. When she did find the right pair, fit just right, felt great, Heather continued to be of outstanding assistance in bringing us to the front and ringing us up. It was also great to get a military retiree discount too! Thank you Shoe Carnival, and Thank you especially, Heather, you made our day! You are salesperson of the year, in our book! read more

This location is bright and open and has a huge selection of athletic shoes. They must be the specialty because there is a smaller selection of other casual and dress shoes. The clearance section was also much larger than I've seen in other Shoe Carnival locations. One thing that I liked was the manager's placement at an elevated point that was visible as soon as you walked through the entrance door. So, if you have any questions, you can ask immediately and not waste time looking throughout the store. Also, workers roam the store asking if customers need any help. Shoe Carnival is one of those stores that can amuse me or drive me to distraction. I'm not a big window shopper or browser - you've heard me say that a lot, right? - so when I come in I am on a mission and ready for battle! The razzle-dazzle and frequent announcements over the loudspeaker can put me over the edge IF I don't find what I seek. This location has been a bit more low-key when I have visited. I often find what I am looking for although this trip I did not. I like shuffling through their sale rack and today - I kid you not - the shoes I fancied and tried on -the last one of that style on the rack - were two different sizes!!!! Not joking!!!! I put them on before realizing that could even happen and was perplexed why one was SO comfortable and one was terribly uncomfortable!!! I took them off and looked. Buy one pair of shoes, get the second one half off and then use the $5. discount coupon cut from last weeks newspaper to save even more. It was time for my annual purchase of a new pair of court/running shoes and the purchase of a second pair of shoes for dressier occassions . This location of Shoe Carnival always has plenty to choose from. Both a large variety of styles and sizes (including wide sizes). I like wandering the store in search of the perfect looking and fitting shoe. The employees are helpful but also respect your desire to just brouse and try shoes to your hearts desire. So I walked away with a new pair of New Balance court shoes and a pair of brown leather loafers for a total of $39.95 + 19.98 + 3.30 tax - $5. coupon = $58.23 I'm happy and so are my feet. read more

This Shoe Carnival location deserves some credit nowadays. They have ditched the old decor, and inside is a new more modern look than existed in the past. Now, the store looks more up to date, and you feel like you are shopping in a respectable shoe store. There are a vast amount of shoes available, which is great, but there is not a terribly large amount of sizes for each shoe. It's frustrating to find a style you like, only to realize your size is not one of the ones available. I'm a huge fan of Nike shoes, and I will give them points for that; there is a pretty great selection of Nikes. If you need new running or gym shoes, it's certainly not a bad spot. Prices are about what you would expect. Top brands cost top dollar, and cheaper brands go for almost nothing. There is a decent clearance selection. Finally, the staff at this location were very nice, even offering to help find shoes for you if you needed help. However, the location seems understaffed. In the middle of the afternoon, there was a single cashier. This is odd given they have an entire line/queue setup for the checkout lane. Overall, it's not a bad choice. read more

Shoe Carnival is huge and they have lots of options, if you want to search the rows and rows of shoes. They have some pretty high quality brands and you will get a good price, especially if you happen upon a sale. I do not love the odor of plastic that hits you as you walk in, but that goes with the territory of lots of shoes of all types. The service is not the best. There is a woman cashier that is pretty friendly and knows her job. The biggest disappointment the last time I was in was the "service", or lack there of, of the guy who seemed like he may have been the manager (he helped the woman cashier, with one of her customers, which is why I thought this.). Scenario: We get in line. Both cashiers are assisting customers. We are closest to the guy. His customers leave, we walk up, and put the pair of shoes, on the counter, and he walks off, to help the other cashier. We were not even acknowledged; no, "I'll be right with you..." Not even eye contact. Well, do you know why? Because, he wasn't going to be 'right with us'! After he helped the other cashier, he walked right by us, and went through a door behind the counter. Simple customer service would have been to acknowledge us, at the very least, to help us would have been over the top customer service! The woman cashier finished with her customer, then told us she could help us. I have only been in this store a few times. It has its usefulness. Service is not high on the list. read more

Shoe carnival gets a bad wrap. As far as I'm concerned they have a large selection of decent quality shoes at mostly decent prices. This becomes important when you have falling arches, RA and fibromyalgia. You wanna still look cute but not hurt. I can usually find something that fits the bill here. Shoe Carnival is a decent enough bargain shoe store with an extensive collection. They have athletic shoes, dress shoes, and casual shoes for men, women, and children. Idk which of those categories include boots, but they seem quite reliable in that area. I also like that they have brand and off-brand shoes. Upon entering you have to take a minute to decide which direction to head in. That is of course after you pass the 7ish foot tall security booth right at the entrance. Talk about off-putting! I've also never been able to find exactly what I want when shopping here. But I guess it's the opposite of what they say about the grocery store and making a list. I've purchased a few pairs of shoes here, but my last experience was different and the recency drove this review a bit. The selection is good for athletic shoes in particular. They carry a full range of sizes for a wide array of New Balance, Nike, Asics, Adidas, and so on in both men's and women's styles. There are also boots and casual wear, but I don't have much experience buying those here since I don't wear them down as quickly. The women's area is typically very well-kept and tidy, despite a pronounced lack of chairs for trial fitment. The men's area... not so much. There are quite a few boxes around the few chairs in the section and a lot of wadded up paper to stuff the toes. Maybe women are just better at putting boxes back. It never really bothered me, but I did notice. Pricing is average to good, but when they have the buy one get one half off, I will stop by to have a look around. My last visit went strangely, though. After picking out two pairs of shoes and taking them to the register, my credit card was poised at the top of the card slot when my mind ran through the math of "buy one, get one half off" and realized that the sum didn't make sense. It was way too high. The register had rung up each pair at retail price, not the sale prices. I wasn't really upset about it; sometimes systems don't get updated. The cashier called for someone on the floor to find the sale prices that were printed and displayed in plastic holders beneath the model shoe. The floor person seemed to be having problems finding them, so I went back to the section to point them out. Rather than simply confirm the prices, she pulled out the sale tags, took them to the register for the cashier to change pricing on the ticket and then promptly threw them away. So, rather than change the system or take a note, now no one got the price they were advertised for? I also got the feeling as though I was being blamed for the confusion and the additional effort. Like I said, I've purchased several pairs of shoes here and I don't think that this will negate this location as an option, but I would encourage you to make sure to check the total when making your payment. read more

Pros: * I love shoe carnival because they have the latest styles/brands in all sizes/ages. I have 5 children, so. Shoe Carnival is my "go to" when it is time to go shoe shopping. It is one stop and I can get shoes for each of my children, even my infant. * Their prices a are very competitive. I receive coupons through my email so, along with the in-store deals (mainly BOGO half price), I can walk away with all the regret I usually feel with a lot of other stores. * The staff at this location has always been very friendly and helpful. To me, that means a great deal and is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. Cons: * Since moving into the bigger shopping center, parking can be sketchy at times . I drive a large vehicle so this can be a bit of an inconvenience at times when the lot is fuller. read more

Worse customer service. The cashier check the merchandise to many times, like looking for treasure. I wasn't offer the rewards card, I have to asked three times for the rewards card. And also check my money a lot of times; like my money was fake. The person that was waiting in line behind me. Probably won't be back here. We were followed down every aisle we looked at for shoes and then while trying them on, associate hovered over us the entire time. When we would switch aisles, he hovered there. Then we were rushed out of the store 30 minutes before closing.
