Shoe Lab on West Pico Blvd is one of the few places in the Los Angeles area who have Dainite heels and soles. Shoe Lab put new Dainite heels and new black rubber tips on my tan waxed suede shoes. Shoe Lab also polished all the edges and cleaned the waxed suede. As an extra added attraction Shoe Lab sent me a text message when my shoes were ready. I brought some shoes to Shoe Lab for repair (finally)! the guy was so nice, and honest, and the turn around time was pretty quick!

It is hard to write this review cause David is very nice, but the quality of work is saddening. I had shoe lab repair my Jorden 10's there white February of 2024 I got a Reglue & Repaint When I picked up the shoes the glue they used was very noticeable between the white & black the glue was an ugly yellow 2 weeks later they came apart from the sole. I called David he said bring them back so of course I did mind you Shoe Lab is located in a very busy area far from my place but close to my work so I got my shoes back in March the work was a little better, but little by little the glue starts to come apart again. I still wore the shoes very lightly and I handle my shoes with care then they get real bad even worse then before. I called in February 2025 to tell David about the shoes he says bring them back so I just took them back Wednesday April 9 when I was in the area When I got to the store David tells me the dates of the initial repairs and he said he had to charge me again 120 for the exact same service a year later and that was with a discount cause I was paying cash. Not even extra discount for my trouble or even my time and gas. David said after a year that is normal. No it is not and not this bad mind you I just use them to wear around I'm not playing ball or anything like that, pretty much an excuse to charge me again for poor quality work. Point is from my experience they don't do good work on sneakers idk why they would offer there services if the work come out like this Maybe there work is good on dress shoes or boots but definitely not sneakers very disappointing Prior to going to shoe lab I had the same repairs done in 2015 10 years they lasted but I lost contact with that shoe repair that's the reason I went to Shoe Lab For sneaker repair I would recommend consumers to get work done at shoe Lab go elsewhere. read more

A shout-out to my favorite shoe-repair/cleaning place. I have a pair of blue-suede shoes that had water droppings and needed cleaning. I brought it to the closest shoe-repair store to me -- in Brentwood. (This is the closest one since I moved.) To clean and color my shoes, they would charge me 10 arms and 10 legs. So I said, no thanks. But first of all, why does Brentwood have a shoe-repair store? Don't these people just throw away their shoes? Anyway, I went back to my regular shoe-repair store. Cons: Overpriced for the service - Charged $50 just for cleaning up a $300 pair of shoes, and the interior wasn't included unless you paid an extra $20. Lack of transparency - No upfront mention of extra charges for full cleaning. Disorganized - No review of the work done when picking up shoes. I have been coming to shoe lab for about 5 years now. They can be well trusted with with designer shoes, purses and belts. They know leather and they know leather well! David is awesome and one time he was able detect that someone had sold me a fake belt which I returned right away. I would have never known the belt was fake if it weren't for David telling me. I was in a real bind. I had a Sunday afternoon black tie wedding and Saturday night I went in my closet, found the perfect bronze shoes to match my gown- but, alas neither shoe had a heel. The owner responded to my tale of woe Saturday night and advised me to be in front of the store Sunday morning and they would take care of me. I got charged an arm and a leg to repair a pair of shoes that promptly broke again (in the same place) on the first wearing. The Shoe Lab refused to stand by their work and fix them again. I've been very unhappy with the last 2 or 3 experiences I've had there and enough is enough. I have a 5 year old son with a disability and he needed a shoe lift due to leg length discrepancy. We were recommended here by another family who also needed one. It was a bit out of the way, but since they said they were satisfied, we went there. We were told how they were different because they put the lift in the middle of the sole and not the bottom like other places. They also said they would match the color of the sole. So we took in a brand new pair of shoes to have this done. When we went to pick them up, the lift was attached to the bottom of the shoe, exactly what we didn't want and they said they didn't do. They did agree to fix it on the spot. When my wife asked about the sole, they said they would clean it up so it looked like the other one (tread intact, or so we thought). We went to eat at the nearby McDonald's while we waited since it would take 30 minutes. When my wife came back, she was in tears. They fixed it, but ruin my disabled child's brand new $60 shoes. When they took it off the bottom, they had removed all the treading as you can see from the photos. When they noticed that my wife was upset, the still wanted to charge her, but with a 50% discount. My wife refused, this was absolutely not what we were promised at all. In short, we'll never come here again and if you have a special need, do not come here. They ruined a brand new pair of $60 shoes for my disabled son who needed them modified for medical reasons. I am frankly disgusted. We didn't buy him Jordan's so he can be fashionable. He wears orthotics and these shoes for over them and are easier to put on than normal shoes. We trusted them and they destroyed the shoe they worked on and it was no where near what they claimed they would do or how it would look. $60 isn't a lot of money for some people, but as a single income family (wife had to quit her job to take care of our son) living in Los Angeles, $60 isn't pocket change. I don't even know where to start... the service quality was truly exceptional. I was in the market to buy a new pair of Chanel flats as mine were absolutely worn out and just simply embarrassing to wear in public. My dad swore up and down they weren't a lost cause and if I brought them into the Shoe Lab they'd look brand new. I had little hopes that was true and was prepared to spend well over 900$ for a brand new pair. After 5 days I went in to pick up my flats and was absolutely baffled at what I saw, I was staring at what looked like a new set of shoes! They were beautifully painted and washed and I'm still in complete awe! Used this service twice now (giving them them a second change due to what's been going on in the world) turns out it's just a company with incredibly bad customer service and time keeping. On their website says shoes will be returned back to you signing 7days of them receiving them. 1/2 weeks after receiving them they asked for payment and still 4 weeks later they are not returned. Using COVID as an excuse as bad service and customer service is not good enough, this does not stop you from providing good customer service and keeping your customers updated on services they have paid for. After messing a number of times to ask where they are they have shown DPD have dropped them of at another location but have not provided me with a card to collect. Their solution was to go to the location and just see if they're there. As opposed to doing what they should as a service provider and investigate this with their chosen delivery services. Not a 1 off bad service, seems this is how they operate. read more
