I have been bringing my items (shoes, bags, luggage) to them for many years so I can truthfully say - these guys are all brilliant at what they do. This place is an absolute joke. I dropped my shoes off 3-12-23. The total amount of the work was $ 550.00 I left a $100.00 deposit with a dated that all my work would be completed by 4-11-23. I went in to pick up my belongings which was 1 Ugg boot a small repair. 1 pair of grey Ugg boots to be cleaned, and 2 Louis Vuitton hand bags with minimal repair work which was the coil around the side of the bag. I went to pick up the property on 4-24-23. When I got there the only thing that was ready was the one brown Ugg boot after all that time had passed. This made me very upset. So the owner indicated to me that the he needed one more day to complete and everything would be ready. I payed the balance of $450.00 and was informed that tomorrow morning the work would be completed. went back today @ 12:00 pm and the work still wasn't completed. Now I'm livid! What kind of customer service is this and for $500.00. And the fact that I had to return to the store twice and my things weren't ready is ridiculous! With that being said I will never give this establishment any more of my business! Very unprofessional and they didn't even have the decency to call me and give me an update on my things! read more

This place and the guys that work here are pretty awesome! They fixed a broken heel on my boot, cleaned/restored 3 pairs of shoes to like new, and even threw in a free boot shine. It's not cheap, but they do a great job. Parking is limited to the street and 2 private spots (note: they're steep) accessible via the alley behind the store. read more

Great place but a little pricey. Really nice folks. Can do custom shoes which shows they really know their stuff. Will be back. Can you guys calm down on aggressive pricing perhaps? 50-55$ price quotes for relatively small fixes. I don't know. Maybe that takes a lot of time for leather fixes but it seemed small. read more

It's definitely pricy but worth it if you want to restore some shoes that you're not ready to let go of yet. They did a great job cleaning a beat up dirty pair of Concorde Jordan 11's that I had for 4 years, now they're back to looking "used - like new." I was very pleased with the cleaning. Only docking a star because it cost me $120, but hey, I didn't wanna clean them myself so I got what I paid for. read more

My mistake is that I did not take before and after pictures of my shoes. I took 5 battered pairs of shoes including a few pair of sneakers and one pair of suede casual Bjorn shoes. The transformation of my sad looking shoes was incredible. They all literally looked brand new. Each pair of shoes was at least $100 so the $40 to refurbish and bring life back into them was well worth it. read more

The first time I came here, I brought a pair of dirty sneakers for them to clean up. The guy working there actually recommended that it might be better and more economical for me to wash it at home with their shoe soap than to spend the extra $$ and have them do it. I was taken aback by the response as he didn't have to tell me this, but I appreciated him looking out for my best interests. That's when I knew I would be coming back. Since that first visit, I've gone here at least a dozen times and each time has been a wonderful experience. The guys here do a PHENOMENAL job with all of the shoes I've brought in for repair and cleanup. I've trusted them with everything from my Zaras and Steve Maddens to my Louboutins, Rag and Bones, and Alexander Wangs. On top of that, their customer service is stellar; always taking the time to thoroughly explain how they're going to approach the issues, communicate any recommendations they have and I've never once felt pressured to go one way or the other. You can tell they love what they do. In addition to this, they always have my shoes ready within a couple of days. As long as I'm still in LA, I'll always be a loyal customer. If it were up to me, I'd wear slippers or running shoes everyday to work. But now that I'm all growns up and have to wear a tie and all everyday, my footwear has to look somewhat the part. I've been taking my shoes here for about two years and never had a problem or disappointment. Since I've never had success with the at home polishing kits, I just drop my dress shoes here every few months to spiff them up. They've also re-soled shoes for me at a reasonable price. If you take shoes in for a polish you can usually have them same day. Secret parking is around back via the alley and you walk through the back door through the work shop. **Note: the best place to get your shoes polished in L.A. is LAX Terminal 1. They have complimentary shoe shine during the day and the guys do a great job.** read more

BEWARE: THEY DON'T GUARANTEE THEIR WORK! Had heels fixed on a pair of high high heels and paid $15. After only a week the heel completely fell off...i found the piece and brought it back to be put on and they charged me again. How can you charge someone for 5 minutes of labor and no materials after the original service proved faulty? BS. read more

I am basing my review on a unique need that I was looking for and the fact it was met nicely. OK, here it goes. I bought a wallet ages ago that I absolutely love. It started to wear out, however, I kept on using it because I could not find a suitable replacement. After a last ditch effort ended with no avail, I thought, why don't I find someone who could just make me a new one. I looked on the web and asked around and no one would step up to the plate. Finally, I remembered a co-worker who had his leather briefcase repaired and loved it. So I asked for the referral to his "leather man". That is right, Shoe Lab Pavilions stepped up to the plate and made me an exact replica of my worn out wallet. After one tweak, I can't tell you how happy I am. These guys can accommodate a unique request, can repair shoes and provide the traditional shoe shine service. 5 Stars for something that is so hard to find and so satisfying when you do. read more

Based on other reviews, I was a little apprehensive about the expense, but feel it's worth paying for a practical service I'll get a ton of use out of. Well, my fears were soon allayed. I brought in a pair of low boots that needed new heel bases, and a shoe with torn leather on the heel. David greeted me warmly, and told me I could come back in a few hours. WOW!!! That's what I'm talking about, people! The bill was under $30, and well worth the speed and quality of service. The ripped leather heel looks good as new (how did he do that?) and my boots are made for walkin' once more. Finding a reliable, friendly cobbler in LA can be daunting, so I'm really glad that's settled. read more

Great service. I went to them to have heels replaced on a pair of boots, which only cost $13 and change. The big job I went to them for was to have elastic added to my boots, because I've got the big calf genes. They were able to one-up me and add leather - in just a few days' turnaround. Great place that I will continue to take my shoes to. So glad I discovered them via Yelp. Highly recommended. read more

Have done both shoe shine and reconditioning services. Been impressed with both. $35 sounds expensive for reconditioning, but it's made both pairs of leather shoes look like new, so can't argue with great results! I drive out of my way to go here, would definitely recommend. read more

My first cobbler visit in L.A., was very reluctant to hand two pairs over the counter, but I took a leap of faith based on the other reviews. A pair of sandals were resoled to perfection and my black silk Pierre Hardy pumps were reheeled and given a thorough cleaning. Both were returned to me in tip top shape, but boy did I pay for it. Handing over $50 made me wish I was back in Manhattan, popping into my trusty and wallet friendly shoe shop in the east village... damn you image conscious L.A., inflating the price of fashion upkeep... read more

They have gone downhill! Never ready when they say and they are doing sloppy work and actually ruining handbags. Items not ready when promised, items sloppily finished, items dyed with terrible scratchy dye that has destroyed my bag. I used to use them and they were amazing and I was happy to pay but now...no. Shoe Lab=Awesome. Save yourself the trouble and go to Shoe Lab. While they were a bit pricier for the repair of my shoe than the last shoe repair place I tried, Shoe Lab is worth every penny... and more! The last shoe repair place I went to fix my shoes (the heel of the sole peeled off bottom of the shoe) sloppily glued the heel of the sole back to the shoe. Shoe Lab did a better job and mor and actually stitched the heel that had come apart back onto the bottom of the shoe so that this wouldn't ever be a recurring problem. They also did that for free so they actually went beyond the price I paid for the repair. Furthermore, even the glue job they did was better than two places I have tried before. (In other words, you can't see excess glue- Shoe Lab did a seemless job). Shoe Lab provides a high-quality service that is welcoming, competent and impeccable. This particular pair of shoes has been one of my favorite shoes even though the heel getting separated from the shoe has happened with almost every previous pair that I have purchased before (I've purchased at least 6 pairs of these shoes even though most of them have this problem). Unlike previous Shoe Repair places I tried, Shoe Lab went a step further. They pointed out the problem and explained that the manufacturer of these shoes only stitched part of the sole to the shoe but not the heel which is why these shoes keep coming unglued at the heel. Now that I know the problem with this shoe, I will be proactive and have Shoe Lab stitch the sole of the shoe at the heel to the shoe and I won't have this problem with this shoes ever again. In other words, now that Shoe Lab explained the problem, I can spend $10.00 which is far less than gluing the sole back to the shoe and avoid this problem in the future. Great service is about more than fixing the problem and Shoe Lab did a better job just by gluing the heel back on to the shoe, they actually went the extra mile and explained the problem. I can't recommend Shoe Lab enough. As I initially mentioned, I thought their initial quote was a bit high but they delivered beyond my expectations and did not only fix the problem better than other shoe repair places but they went the extra mile. read more

This guy is a stone cold thief. HIGHEST prices I have ever seen. I have no clue how the work is but i can tell you I went in for an estimate on a broken zipper for a purse. Every place i'd been to wanted at least 40 dollars, most ranged between 40 and 50. Shoe lab estimate was 80 dollars. He wanted TEN Bucks to sew a velcro strip in to another purse! A five dollar job tops. read more

I brought in a badly stained leather sofa cushion, and David at the Shoe Lab made it look good as new. I've rarely experienced such professionalism, expertise, and customer service. If I ever have any other leather-related needs (shoes, upholstery, anything), there is no doubt I will go back to David at the Shoe Lab. I recommend you do the same. The details: I brought in my stained leather and within seconds (before I could explain what happened), David immediately recognized that it was an oil stain and very difficult to remove. This matches my own research from online. He explained that he would clean and touch up the leather but said the stain would never be 100% gone. He said it would be ready in three days, and when I asked if it could be ready in two instead, he immediately agreed with no additional fee. When I returned, he was literally waiting for me with my item. He managed to not only clean the stain, but subtly dye it so that it had practically disappeared. When I brought it home, other members of my family could not identify which cushion had been stained. I plan to trust David with any leather-related problem I ever have. read more

this guy deserves no stars. i once took a pair of shoes there to get retouched - one of my favorite stefan keilan's EVER - because i was too lazy to drive to the ever reliable andre #1 on sunset in west hollywood. what a HUGE mistake. the shoe was originally painted very delicately to look like a satin ballet slipper and needed a little retouch on the heels i told the man what i needed. i should have known he was cagey when i paid for the repair up front (in cash, no less) and in turn i asked for a receipt, he gave me his business card and said that i didnt need a receipt because i would pick up the shoes by the phone number i gave to identify them. right then i should have taken my shoes and money back and left, but i went against my better judgement. i went back on the tuesday that he told me to go; the shoes weren't ready and the man asked me to come back in a couple of days. so i did. and to my complete and utter dismay, my once beautiful, elegant and classic ballet slipper pink shoes were painted a SAND color with the cheapest, sloppiest paint job i've ever seen. my heart sank and i was furious. he saw my expression and proceeded to tell me he couldn't match the paint and decided to change the color. i asked why he didn't call to tell me this and he couldn't answer me, insisting that the color was close. it wasn't AT ALL. he could have called me to tell me he couldn't replicate the color - he had my number after all - but instead he made a decision (without remorse, i will add!) that was now impossible to undo. my shoes were ruined with thick cheap paint whose leather would never be in the same condition ever ever again. anyway, i can't relive the traumatic exchange that ensued so i will end this by saying that i asked for my money back - which he gave me immediately because he knew he was WRONG. go to andre #1 on sunset for honesty, superior service and custom requests. they would have never made a decision for you like this guy did. they would tell you up front what you were looking at for custom requests. for basic upkeep like heel tips, go to stop n' shine inside the century city mall. read more

Fair pricing and excellent customer service. I have a pair of boots and the sole came off. David was super helpful and not only glued them back on but also stitched the soles back on too so they will let a long time!! As a person who understands the value in buying good leather dress shoes I also understand the value in taking care of them. For $35 they took my recently coffee stained shows that had been violated by the prior shoe repair shop and brought them back to better than new! I've had a couple of shoes have the same issue (heel come off stack heel; nub off of bottom heel) the 3rd or 4th time I wear the shoe. It's very disappointing. I paid a lot of money to get them repaired and then they break the same place in six months. I think I'll go somewhere else now. read more
