The Service requested was the replacement of the tab of a heel on a boot. In order for both boots to be even, be aware - Both heel tabs had to be replaced? even if only one was missing a tab. Technically the tab was not missing. It had gotten loose but he couldn't put it back. He had to add a new one to each boot. I felt it was pricey but he did clean the heel and possibly paint it. Not sure but heels look nice. read more

All in all the resole cost 140$ which I thought was fair. A week later, Lo and behold they were resoled, clean, and moisturized. I brought in a pair a Travis Scott's that I had accidentally dropped some candle wax on it looked like a hopeless situation I mean one of them was socket in wax and for 1900 dollars well I wasn't going to buying any new ones soon I found this place of business and man! I had dropped some Vaseline on my new Birkenstock clogs. I decided to try to clean it with saddle soap I had got from Amazon, but due to a lack of instruction and expertise I ended up making it 10x worse (saddle soap disaster are not in the photos). I brought it to Sean and he even said there was a good chance the stain would never come out. I just picked up today and both clogs were SPOTLESS. Amazing job restoring my favorite pair of black leather boots! I bought these boots like 5 years ago and they are my go to pair during winter -- LA winter that is. I've worn them in the rain a lot, which is not ideal, because I've had to replace and or re-glue the sole a couple of times. I brought them in to VC and the owner was amazing! He re-soled and stitched the leather to the soles to avoid this from happening. I paid $75 for the labor and I think it's fair given the craftsmanship, and extra detail to my needs with the boots. I had two heels that needed their tips replaced. I always wear my jimmy choo collar sandals since they're super comfortable!! Due to that I wore the heels out so much and the tip was stuck in. I brought the shoes in and I'm so happy with the results. Also Sean mentioned that he can order tips for louboutins that match the thin heel. He put new tips on my louboutins and they feel the same and comfortable. I needed the shoes quickly since I was going out of town and I was able to pick them up the next day. I took a bag to get fixed and was told that it would be fixed by the following Tuesday. I called on Tuesday and was told he hadn't started on it and to call back two days to check progress. I called again and again it wasn't ready. I forgot how many times i called to get him to finish it. Just the worst customer service! The whole time I was being patient and understanding since he had my expensive bag but at the end, he ended up being so rude to me because I was 10 minutes late to pick up my bag. I live in my Birkenstocks. No lie. I have a solid birks tan. So when I finally rubbed through the footbed of my Birks, I was heartbroken. I looked up authorized Birkenstock shops on the website and I got to tell you, the reviews of some repair shops weren't pretty. I live out in West LA, but I wasn't going to trust someone with my birks just because it was convenient. Enter the Village Cobbler and their fantastic yelp reviews. The store is pretty far out of my way, so I called beforehand to confirm they would be able to salvage my birks. Note: the phone number on yelp is different than the number on their website (I had better luck with the website). I explained how my shoes were falling apart and they told me there were two options, depending on how bad my shoe was damaged: completely re-do the sole and footbed or only fix the footbed. I appreciated them being up-front with me about options. Luckily, when I brought the shoes in I was told that they could do the cheaper fix of just adding a new footbed. They easily could have tried to upcharge me, so points for honesty! I was in no rush (other than the misery of being separated from what feels like a part of me), so they told me to come back in 5 days. Sure enough, 5 days later my shoes were ready for pick up. They look fantastic, feel fantastic, and they even did a little bit of repair on my birks' cork! So if you need your Birkenstocks repaired (or other things I guess, although you really should just wear birks...), cannot recommend Village Cobbler enough!! read more

There isn't parking, a few street side meters so be prepared to look for parking or ride with someone who can turn on the hazards while you walk in. The worker was eating lunch but stop and took my order. I had to repair the zippers on the backpack. It was $40 to repair two zippers, but I could have it back next day if I needed it. The shop is quaint and the worker does leave for break. So call and make sure someone is there before so you won't worry about parking and miss him. I like to support small businesses, so I would go again. read more
