Shoe Repair Etc. - Anti Semitic I am writing to report my experience with a shoe repair business, Shoe Repair Etc., located at 7050 W. Palmetto Park Rd., Bay 23 in Boca Raton, within the Publix shopping plaza at the intersection of Palmetto and Powerline. I brought in a designer handbag for zipper repair. When I retrieved the item, the strap had been scratched and ripped, and the underside of the handbag was significantly damaged. There was visible hot glue residue and multiple scratches all over the leather. The bag had been in excellent condition prior to the repair, and the result was unacceptable. When I raised concerns about the condition of the item and the appropriateness of payment, I was met with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. The shoemaker and an individual who appeared to be his spouse made disparaging and anti-Semitic remarks, including comments about "Jewish Boca women" being superficial for purchasing designer goods. Incidentally, they have no idea what my religion is, as I do not know them personally beyond being their customer. I am sharing this experience not only to warn others about the poor quality of workmanship, but also to highlight the deeply troubling conduct and values demonstrated by the individuals running this business. Their willingness to damage a customer's property, refuse accountability, and then resort to offensive, anti-Semitic remarks reflects a complete lack of professionalism, integrity, and basic respect. I sent my granddaughter to have her bag and shoes repaired, and I was very disappointed with the results. Both repairs were unsatisfactory. The service was overpriced, expectations were set too high, and the final work did not meet those expectations. They also did not notify her when the repairs were completed. When she arrived--one day after the promised pickup date--she was told to wait while they rushed to finish the job. The leather bag was returned with new scratches, loose stitching, and a poorly done patch. I told her to ask for a refund due to the poor quality of the repair, the inconvenience, and the excessive pricing, but her request was denied. "we don't do that"! Got my bag and shoes repaired, very disappointed and completely unsatisfied with both of the repairs. Over charged, over promised, and under delivered. They do not call you to tell you your repairs are complete. Was told to wait at shop for them to rush and finish the repair even though I showed up a day after the promised pickup date. Was handed my leather bag back with new scratches, loose stitching, and a poor patch job. Asked for refund given it was expensive for such a poor repair job and immediately refused. Every single one told me it would be ready next week regardless if it was just a simple reinforcement. I called Claudia, who is such a sweetheart, and she told me to bring it in. She was kind enough to text me directions so I wouldn't get lost, did the alteration right then and there and didn't even charge me! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. What an angel! I have been a customer for many years at shoe repair etc My son needed a jacket altered ASAP for a wedding I brought my son to Claudia at claudias alterations ...located in the shoe repair. She fitted him with the jacket and said he needed the sleeves shortened and the jacket tapered And she could do it in a day Charge was 400 dollars We were a little shocked at the price but had no choice but to pay. I picked the jacket up and when my son tried it on the sleeves were way to short. I dropped them off, and they said it would take about a week and a pretty low price for repairing golden goose sneakers. If I could give them a negative 5 review I would. I brought in a 3 single shoes, from my retail client for repair. When I picked up the shoes they seem fine. My customer tried the shoe in front of me and took 2 steps before it fell apart. Not only did I pay for this complimentary repair myself, now I have to replace the shoe since this pathetic place of business refuse to fix it. They didn't even have the work order. I have been a client of Shoe Repair ETC for the last eight years and have come to love both the fine work that they do as well as the owners, Tanya & Ulysses. They so lots of great stuff for me.... for example they have taken in the shaft of boots for me and I have trusted them completely to work on expensive Hermes and Chanel bags as well as dye suede and put great red bottoms on Louboutins, repair luggage...etc etc..
