Romy managed to fix both pairs so they look and function like new. I'm thrilled to have my two favorite boots back. It was absolutely worth the money: he repaired both of my shoes, which retail for several hundred dollars, at just a fraction of what it would have cost me to replace them new. Not only is Umpara the most gracious and exacting of proprietors, she will actually tell you in advance when a repair does not pay to be done because of shoe condition, etc. They are not looking to make money on a repair if the shoes themselves will not last. I have three daughters and a husband who are all very hard on their shoes. After the winter season, I deliver the girls' tall leather boots and other winter shoes, and they come back looking like new -- polished, with expertly applied fresh soles and heels. I have even gone to The Sole Heeler for repairs on shoes where the strap has been stretched out so as to be loose on my feet, and Umpara is incredibly crafty and was able to suggest cutting the strap down and repairing the shoe that way. The shop is a family business, and both Umpara's husband and brother work alongside her. They have stayed late for me to make a pick-up when weather conditions had me delayed in traffic, and they work hard to meet the deadline of when the shoe repairs are needed. They are terrific at repairing handbags, tote bags and and backpacks, as well! Their pricing is fair and more than equitable considering the expertise of their work. They are expert, as well, in stretching out a shoe in specific spots if they are uncomfortably tight, and in lowering heels. They have a large clientele, and everyone I have recommended them to has thanked me and praised the high quality of their work. I cannot even imagine these people speaking rudely, as they are tremendously kind, compassionate, and hard-working people doing their utmost to deliver top quality work. We live in a close-knit community where everyone knows the "best" places to frequent, and this business could not have lasted as long as it has if they did not deliver superior work at fair prices!

I found him thanks to Yelp, and noticed he was local to my home and quickly reached out regarding my unfavorable damage to my vintage LV wallet. This 2004 coin purse wallet combo has seen better days, and when my wallet was rejected for repairs from the original source, I didn't want to give up on it. Paul asked me to send pictures of the damages so he could quote me properly due to the amount of work involved. We agreed on a price and even the amount I had to leave for deposit wasn't an issue. He wanted to make sure that I would trust his judgement and value his work. Paul said to give him a week and he delivered it to me in 5 days time! Be sure to always ask him what the store hours are, as he unfortunately is experiencing flood damages to his work space. How he was still able to fix this wallet for me in such dire conditions, I'll never know. He's chatty and friendly, and could use more foot traffic as this kind of work is clearly dying in the industry. He seamless repaired my coin purse compartment that kept leaking coins all over my bag, as well as the bills compartment that was fatigued. The work is perfect; beat that 5th ave! Went home and called the shop at ~1:30pm. Owner answered in Russian asking me why I didn't call him - as if the shop only opens when a customer calls - and why I didn't deposit my boots in a locked box at the entrance. I'm not about to leave my boots not knowing if they are repairable! I asked if the shop open now - was told to call back at ~2:30pm. I called at 2:42pm, didn't recognize the voice who answered, asked again if the shop is open - in English - and got yelled at for speaking English! Was told not to play games (!) and not to be rude (for speaking English!). Naturally, I hang up and will not place any orders with this so called business. PS. Seeing response to my review insulting me for trying to give them business confirms this is a nasty place, totally unprofessional. I do NOT recommend anyone to deal with them, ever!
